For Dying Light, ive found if youre going to use this perk the best thing to do is slug the obsession every chance you get. They cant heal people or do gens if theyre on the ground, and someone has to get off a gen to pick them up which can lead to snowballing. So, yeah dont ignore the obsession, slug them. This isnt to say its a great perk, but if youre using it thats what you should do

I am more of an intermediate player and I have yet to unlock an unholy amount of perks from other killers, but I was really shocked by Spies From the Shadows ranking so low. I'm a Wraith main, and it helps me tremendously. Since I essentially have no terror radius, the survivors are never quite ready and just run to the gens or don't bother to stealth around, thus triggering crows quite often. A fairly precise, 36 meters range of survivor detection is nothing to scoff at, and with an increased movement speed while cloaked, patrolling is a breeze, as I can just superficially walk around an area and see if any crows are triggered. My first chase usually begins very quickly (often thanks to that perk), giving me really good momentum. If more than one survivor was going for a generator but ran away as he saw you chasing someone else, you do sometimes get notifications for that as well, telling you there's a survivor nearby without having to down someone as you would have to with Infectious Fright. Not only that, it gives you a great indication of where survivors are coming from when going for hook rescues, which helps make better decisions when you have to protect an area. Crows can also be hard to see, hear, or pinpoint depending on the map or even your current location. If you're indoors, or in an enclosed map, they're much more unreliable without this perk. And unless you're paying VERY close attention and you're quite a perceptive and skilled individual, you can miss crows flying off in the distance. Finally, though it is incredibly situational, it also helps counter a couple other perks such as Self-Aware and Situational Awareness (which, granted, aren't the most popular, but this should still be considered). All in all, it is fairly versatile for me, even though hooked survivors triggering it and a couple other quirks make it a bit annoying.

Spies from the shadows isn’t a bad perk, but there are way better perks out there. Like spies can help you sometimes, and it’s useful when it does help you, but it’s outclassed by several aura-reading perks like I’m all ears and others. But by no means is spies a bad perk

@@arcanacapra9792 yeah that's a bit of an overreaction. Spies may be outclassed by a lot of other tracking perks, but it's got a few things going for it at least (1. No one cares about crows, and 2. The extra 4m radius comes in handy from time to time). Monstrous Shrine is so bad that you're actively throwing if you use it.

Its interesting to see perks I get a ton of value out of, like Trail of Torment and Nurses Calling from the perspective of someone at a much higher level of play. Some of the perks dismissed so absolutely perform extremely well for me at a more mid-level of play.

the difference between mid and high level is immense yea. high level is a sweat fest where you're basically forced to bring the all the best perks and add-ons just because everyone else brings them. experienced, coordinated and merciless survivors who won't give you the chance to make use of your perks or your power. they won't give you an inch so you can't provide any. which is why mid level is where you want to be. the game is actually fun and you can use whatever perks you want. it can be enjoyable to climb to max rank for a season or two just to challenge yourself and strive towards a goal but once you've done so i'd return to mid level, which is what i did.

If distressing increased terror radius by 50%~100% it could actually be useful. In small maps that could mean permanent terror radius and could make survivors not be sure of where you are

Doctor can stack it with add-ons that increase Terror Radius while Static Blast is ready. If you don‘t blast you can have a huge Terror Radius, that you can utilize for a Skill Check Build. ( Unnerving Presence / Distressing / Hex:Huntress Lullaby / Oppression ) On small maps like you said, your effects are omnipresent.

Interesting fact about about running Franklin's Demise on the Plague. You can infect the items on the ground and if the survivor cleanses and comes back to pick up the item, they will be infected and not know why. Easy counter to this is to cleanse after picking up the item. But still a neat little strategy and an interesting way to use the Plague when you're running duration addons like hematite Seal or Prayer Tablet Fragment. 👍🏻

Plaything is such a good standalone perk, every time a hex is done, you know someone's been looking for heir totem. Can only be cleansed by themselves. Really solid on any one-shot killer aswell. Maybe worse against a swf, but all perks are worse against sfw.

Hey! One thing I feel like most streamers havent pointed out is that vigil has one extremely good use. The rise of boons has made the use of haunted grounds stronger, which exposes the player for a set amount of time. Because of boons being popular, HG got soft buffed which buffs the new vigil as a result. Personally i prefer running for the people and vigil to offset the length of broken, but haunted grounds becoming even less niche makes the perk great if one of your survivors is running it. Plus haunted grounds has a timer that the killer can see and so you can really throw them off with it.

I find it interesting how extreme edge cases (like wr fastest 4k attempts) can end up using perks otherwise considered (rightfully) terrible. Perfect example: deerstalker is right at home in a blight fastest 4k build, (for massive slugging with ring, iri tag, and infectious fright, and finding the slugs quick) when it's otherwise not good

191 perks times 3 teirs (for simple math I'm just gonna say ~200 perks. 100 on each side killer and survivor) So if we go (4000 x 100, for yellow) + (5000 x 100, for green) + (6000 x 100, for purple) = 1.15 million bloodpoints to get every single perk on a character (not including the extra stuff in the bloodweb such as map offerings, add ons, items) we take that times the roughly 50 characters in the game that's a total of 75million bloodpoints needed to get every perk on every character not factoring the cost of the bloodweb. Which for the average player is an insane amount. I still think at this point in the game with so many perks just remove perk level teirs, we aren't in a world of dbd anymore where sometimes a teir 1 is better then teir 3 like back in the day with discordance. Having teirs with so many perks just makes it an endless dump of bloodpoints. This doesn't just go for new players this goes for old ones as well who have tons of teachables, you could go several webs on webs where you just don't see either a perk you actually want or that final teir level of the perk.

Deliverance Tier 2 is the best, Make your Choice Tier 1 is the best, Tier 1 Blast mine is superior ... there are still quite a few. i agree on the Bloodweb situation, its ridiculous - 1,2 mil just for the perks alone ... a level 40-50 bloodweb even if u spend as little as possible is atleast 40-50k bp. im not the Math guy here but it goes into the billions ... probably :D

@@FirstnameLastname-bx4zk because its the perfect midground play. if u Deli of the hook and get downed or facecamped in a locker with DS up then once Deliverance expired it tells the killer that 60 seconds are over and hes now free to grab him out cuz DS has the same timer. if u have Deli Tier 2 the timer is 20 seconds longer so he wastes more time facecamping. 20 seconds is alot and if he doesnt tunnel you its only 20 seconds more of the broken state its not a big deal.

Reasoning behind that is just how many times Otz says "Use circle of healing instead", "This is countered by circle of healing", "Just use boons theyre better." A nice use for Huntress Lullaby is on Doctor on a map like The Game, Lery's Memorial Institute or Raccoon City Police Station, where hexes are harder to find than usual, combined with the small size of those maps. It is best combined with Unnerving Presence for extremely hard skill checks. This combo is especially good on Doctor who has reverse skill checks, whose frequency depend on the level of madness thst survivors find themselves in. A good build revolving around "Impossible skillchecks" is Hex: Huntress Lullaby, Unnerving Presence, Overcharge and Distressing, for example. I don't know if Oppression from the Twins work, but you may as well try it. At high MMR, this build sucks and you will most likely lose the game. But with the influx of new players from Epic, this build may shine and you may laugh at the constant rate of explosions due to missed skillchecks. In that case, Huntress Lullaby may be a better choice than Ruin or Pop. Have fun!

I once was slapped with the best repressed alliance play I've ever seen. So I'm playing oni, just hooked someone, about to pop a gen with a ton of progression, I get hit with blast mine, which is kind of annoying, and then when I can see and hear again, the gen is blocked, and now I lose pop, the gen gets done, things get out of control, 3 out of 4 escaped
