I got the maestro, love love love. So easy and clean. And the automatic milk system is an absolute bomb. This machine is everything I was looking for . I love the dosing and the temp adjustment.

Treated myself to a Prestigio a couple of weeks ago after my Magnifica automatic decided to stop working properly and was uneconomic to get it repaired and must say I am super impressed with the quality of Espresso I get from it after a few false starts with getting the grind right

Re: Let's go to the Flat White(07:10). I tried to see if you got the middle dial up to the optimal zone. I'm trying a few different settings but no luck reaching that yet. The coffee is good but I still think I'm missing out in even better. Ideas?

Im trying to make a decision on which Espresso machine will be the best. So far, I’ve spent lots of $$$ in machines that don’t work has espectros and as a result, I’m stuck with different kinds of them. My question is, may I use it with regular coffee that does not need the grinder feature? Or it must be the actual coffee beans all the time?

All these machines have the grinder built in to have freshly ground espresso :) But if you want to use pre ground espresso you can. You cannot use pre ground coffee though! The grind will be too coarse. These machines produce only espresso not coffee, and require a fine grind size to be able to brew properly :)

Hi Wendy, many thanks for the comparison. Finding my way into the espresso world, I bought the original La Specialista a year ago without thinking too much about the limitations of the pressurized portafilter baskets & the original in-built grinder. Now I'm thinking about how to get more control and quality out of the machine, ideally without having to buy an external grinder. Do you think the original grinder can handle a standard single-walled basket (i.e. produce grinds fine enough)? If not, do you think it's possible to have the in-built grinder upgraded by De'Longhi with the option included in the Prestigio? Thanks.

If you get a Baratza grinder (anything better than encore) yes. As for upgrading your current machine... unfortunately it can't be done.

La Specialista original machine is no longer made so if you can find one it will likely be on sale or a lower price. The prestigio is the upgraded newer model

Which one would you prefer? The Maestro at the moment isnt available in germany. So we are interested in the Presigio. Does the coffee tastes the same in the Prestigio and the Maestro? We dont need a foam maker because we have one. Thanks for your answer and greetings from germany.

I would personally recommend the Prestigio. I've never owned a Delonghi machine (I have a Breville Infuser), but from what I know of machines in general and espresso, the more control you have over your grind size the better. The single-wall basket is a game changer, although I'm sure you could probably get single-wall baskets for the original model somewhere. However my ultimate recommendation would be to get a machine with both single- and dual-wall baskets and no built-in grinder (Breville Duo Temp or Infuser, Solid Barista Perfetta, or Gaggia Classic to name a few) then buy a separate grinder that has more options. I've been a barista for several years and have been learning about the intricacies of espresso for a while and this seems to me to be the best setup

Nice reviews but way is the maystro it's has 15 bar..? Way they did make at least 20 bar..? The shod upgraded not go back with 15 bars..!! I went to bay the maystro but I'm confused now.!!!! Can I have the answer please..?

15 bars is enough pressure. The original only had pressurized baskets and needed the 19 IMO

We agree. When we filmed this we were using info that was published by Delonghi...which has since changed..it made no sense at the time but we were told (then) that it was accurate

the "My" coffee button for me doesn't work in my Prestigio. Once i have my desired amount, i click ok, then i click the "My" button again to save. It lights up, showing that it remembers my preference, but when i click it again, it doesn't do anything, its like me programming it again.

I just got the Maestro. Is anyone having issues with the Lattecrema system not working? Mine only works intermittently, and seems to only work on the High froth knob setting. I’ve checked everything - it’s properly inserted, milk level is above minimum line, knob setting, ran a clean cycle after the last attempt, etc etc . I guess I’ll call them after the weekend.

This is great for people with multiple users in the house hold! Some want to be able to steam their own milk and have that control, and some want to just press a button for milk :)

Even with the newer models, i am still not a fan of this series. Grinder is not super flexible, the portafilter is smaller than 58mm….even smaller than 54mm…. The single walled basket on the maestro is nice, but the portafilter is too small given the price point.

@@ThorMaxx it works well but it’s honestly just coffee now… see, I drink an espresso shot and then I make a latte to go but the coffee it’s just strong or not that strong … then it is nice to have a strong coffee whenever you want it and all that but for $1250 I don’t know if it was a good buy. Oh and that’s + the $12.50 every week for good coffee beans
