There’s a lot of pressure for a professional sports team to choose the right nickname. You can’t just change it whenever you want. It has to appeal to your millions of fans, and it has to stick long-term.
Some NFL franchises, let’s just say, failed this mission. Others did an okay job, while some passed with flying colors. Without further ado, let’s dive into our rankings for all 32 NFL team names, from worst to first.

TPS literally said Dolphins was a bad name because they are nice. But Dolphins are a staple of Florida and Miami in particular. Then they say Jaguars is a bad name because they aren’t found in Florida and thus aren’t a staple of Florida. But Jaguars are ferocious and powerful animals. What the hell do you want then, TPS?!

Jaguars actually WERE associated with Jacksonville. At the time of their team's creation, the Jacksonville zoo held some of the largest jaguars in the United States.

The Bengal Tiger name is a more unique name for Cincinnati weather than using a basic Tiger name. It's a strong tiger that roars stronger than any other tiger in the jungle

Panthers is actually a really good name for Carolina since the Panther is one of the signature animals associated with North Carolina in particular even though the animal is sparse now. So, it's a tribute to the animal itself.

Dolphins are known to gang r**e their own and other species of undersea mammals. They are also known to act very violent toward the offspring of female dolphins in an attempt to kill the baby to then create one of their own. Meanwhile Sharks are known to be good parental figures who take care of their own and protect them at all costs. I think the Dolphins is quite fitting for an intimidating nickname.

The Buccaneers should've been higher on this list. That's a name that actually invokes the legendary pirates of history, and sounds so much better than some of the really bad names on this list. As a sidebar, when the XFL came back and tried to bring a team back to Tampa, they really dropped the ball with the name "Vipers". WTH? If they wre looking for a team name that could have stood with the likes of the Battlehawks, Guardians, and the like? They should have gone with the name "Roughriders", after the unit that Theodore Roosevelt commanded back in the day. They were tough, no-nonsese sonovaguns, and the logo could have been a Roughrider soldier, charging on horseback, with a cavalry saber pointing at the "enemy"!

The Jaguars got their name from El Jefe, who was the oldest living jaguar at the time, because he lived in the Jacksonville Zoo. Y'all need to do more research. A lot more research
