Jango Fett was not a wanna be Mando. He was a Mandalorian, raised by Jaster Mereel. And Boba Fett eventually became Mandalore. Those are in legends now. You can’t call them wanna be.

The worst part is that the pacifists literally say that about ALL of the non-pacifist Mandalorians and for some reason Canon lovers have embraced this derisive dismissal as absolute canonical fact and use it to beat Legends fans over the head and tell them that they are wrong. I'm especially irked by the fact that Ben has the audacity to say that when what he's covering is 90% Legends material that hasn't been re-canonized in the slightest. Though I understand it seems like he's just generally trying to be as annoyingly insulting about as many things as possible it's a garbage and unfounded and likely soon to be poorly aged statement if The Mandalorian has anything to say about it with their inclusion of Boba Fett.

He called them wanna be, because in The Mandalorian TV show, if they remove their helmets they are no longer Mandalorian. Because all the legends stuff is legends, and none of the movies established what Mandalorian culture was, the animated shows, and the Mandalorian are canon. Fun fact: these ships designed and built during the Jedi Sith war during the days of the old republic where still in use during the days of the new Republic and still won most fights with ships close to their size.please keep in mind that ships designed during the clone wars where extremely outdated and got obliterated in most of their fights.that is some terrifyingly good ship design from the mandos yikes!

Great video but keep this in mind, Real Star Wars aka Legends for newbies, is no "cluster truck". Lucas himself is responsible for the real inconsistencies in the E.U. On the other hand, Disney's "Star Wars" doesn't even know what it is, just plagiarized EU material. The Mandalorian show is the best they'll ever do, unless they get their shit straight. As it stands, The Mandalorian is an awesome fan series, yet plagued by links to the Clone Wars remake aka The Clone Wars, weakening the creative process and development of the main character.

Mandalorians aren’t from Mandalore. It’s an adopted homeworld. It doesn’t even serve as the homeworld of most Mandalorians. Also, since most of the info sources you tapped are EU, you can’t call Jango or Boba fake Mando’s. Jango was Jaster Mereel’s successor, the last survivor of his sect of Mando. He walked away out of grief. Boba settled on Concord Dawn, a backwater in Mando space, for years after the clone wars and lived as a Mando. All it takes to be a Mando is live by thr Resol’nare. It isn’t very complicated...yet someone the Khyrnze regime managed to fail at it.

The Aggressor would've made a good Jedi fighter, they could withstand the G forces. The Fang fighter would also have been appropriate for Jedi - if any of them were still left by the time it was developed.

I’ve always loved the Fang and Kom’rk fighters, and to a lesser amount even the Mando shuttle, not only were they very cool looking, but the look uniquely Mandalorian. I hope we get to see more of them in the next season or two of the Mandalorian, which is supposed to have something of a “restoring Mandalore” story, although I don’t know how extensive it will be. I’ve always felt the Kom’rk, while a great transport, with a few modifications could be an excellent medium or heavy fighter, and even a bomber, as despite it’s limited weapons, it had tons of room to add weapons and some more power generation. So you could add a missile and a torpedo launcher, with a bunch of either one, or a combination of both, and still have room for 2 heavy or maybe 2-4 medium laser cannons (possible maybe even a 2-4 light turbolasers as instead, although I’ve never been able to figure out what the difference, if any, there is between lasers and turbolasers, as sometimes they seem to be used interchangeably, but very often they are differentiated between the two.)

@@johnpatz8395 Turbolasers are just overpowered lasers. They are too bulky and require too much energy to be used on anything short of a capitol ship. They are also exceptionally slow to fire, which is why in A New Hope, they used small fighters to get into the trench, as the Turbolaser defenses of the Death Star couldn't keep up easily, or fire fast enough. Figured I'd help you with the confusion! Also, 100% agree, love Mando designed ships and weapons! Been a Mando fan long before the show, and am sad that they got rid of the Legends origins of them...Unless they decide to add it back in. After all, we haven't gotten rid of ALL the past yet

The Firespray was stolen by Jango and refitted into the Slave 1, it wasn't actually made like that. Before being stolen it was a prototype ship being used to guard a prison. From what I read a while ago that is.

The Firespray-class was not Mandalorian, Ben. It was made by Kuat Systems engineering for local Republic law enforcement. Jango stole one for his own use. Also the Crusader-class gunship and the Keldabe-class battleship may have been designed by Mandalorians, but they weren't used much by the Mandalorians because they were barely able to afford fleets. The Zann Consortium made more use of them since they were wealthy enough to afford fleets. At the time, the Mandalorians were so poor they were enslaved by the Empire and only recently broke free. And their fleets were pathetic when compared to that of the Consortium, not to mention the Empire's.

I wouldn’t call mandalorian tech more advanced. It’s simply more dedicated and purpose build. Like the Westar blaster pistols they use, they were available to the galactic market. Tho the free market versions were somewhat weaker than the mandalorian use versions, they were also more dedicated and more expensive, but packed a higher punch and accuracy. MandalMotors made the ships available to the free market too, but they were essentially purpose-designed for the mandalorian way of combat. Since nearly nobody outside of mandalorians needed all the dedicated tech, and didn’t need the capacity for rapid aerial troop deployment, they were too expensive and specialized for widespread use
