Hey all! I found the easiest way to one shot Thanators!While hunting for the Kinglor Wetlands Thanator, I noticed in the video it didn’t show how to one shot that particular one. So I eventually came across the technique I use now which is to let yourself get killed so that you can use second chance (Apex Hunter Skill) and in doing so you become invincible for a couple seconds. In these seconds, the Thanator doesn’t react to you and just stands there giving you plenty of time to shoot it’s weak spot. It also roars afterward giving you another opening! Just thought I’d share this helpful tip I stumbled across! 💙

I have an even easier method: just equip the staff thrower and throw a skunk pod at the thanator before hitting it with the heavy bow. This stuns the thanator for a short duration giving you time to aim and hit the lungs.

Knew there was 3 but didn't know there was 4 so this helps. Best thing is use the 3rd ammo type in the staff sling to stun them then stand by their side and use a high level spear thrower

You can also throw a skunk bomb at them to stun them and then hit the weak spot while they're stunned.

Cooking 2 of these apex pred lean meats together is a waste. Use the lean meat as the base ingredient and then any exquisite egg (which are far easier to come by) and you get an egg washed scure. Same tier 3 50% damage, dame duration, half the rare mat cost.

Great summary on them :D If you have a friend you can also wait at all these zones and have your friend fasttravel away and back to you to instantly reset the Thanator spawn! Also: im not sure if they changed it recently but when me and my friend farmed them for endgame crafting a week ago we found them all without having the Totem quest completed.

What leather do you use on your legs since the best 2 give you disadvantages? 25% more damage but you take more damage and the other more melee resistance but you do - 20% damage I am using the one with -20% damage and more resistance, and to even things out equip the armor with the 10% damage x3 tooth This way you resolve the -20% damage, and gain 10% damage and more melee resistance

Hi just to correct an info. I finished the game once full 100% with all quests, contributions and explorations. it’s my second game I’m level 5-6, don’t have the Ikran yet at that stage, I have done only one sarentu totem and one réflexion. My saving says 24% of advancement. I encountered the wetland kinglor Thanator in the location you mentionned. I think it pops related to spawn and respawn distance and delay more than quest requirements. Couldn’t kill it though… 😂 Thanks for your content though ;)

Before this video i tought you could get the best from the stormglider but After i got all the ingredients with perfect conditions and got like 270 with the heavy bow i tought something was wrong,now i have to Hunt this big boy here

Having more than one spawn is probably a bug. I only got two white moss ones to spawn and it’s only been one at each location ever since. Best this to do is just check in at their spawn locations every 30 mins.

Gonna be honest, on the PS it is hard to get that perfect shot and when you are given a small window to shoot it the controller makes it difficult to land it accurately

Someone in another vid actually mentioned that if you have the second wind skill, you can just let the thanator kill you, revive, and then shoot the weak spot, since youll be point blank

I wish we could´ve tamed 1 and use them to help us clear a Base or something just like in FC6 for example. Since its basically a Far Cry in Blue. Would´ve been AWESOME!

Whilst I love the look this game- who else wishs that there could be a option of a free play /sandbox mode. One where you could hunt and do the same things as in the game rn, but without having to fight the RDA. And yes I know, the Navi have to fight regardless, but what if the RDA never existed or humans never came to pandora. That would be a really immersive game where you could channel your inner Navi and live your life in peace. Now I may have a different opinion but who else agrees? 😊

Start the quest "A Shadow and a Threat" at Laughters Retreat camp in Upper Plains, located just below Weeping Steps. Completing this quest will trigger the next quest in the Clouded Forest, "The Black Wind." During "The Black Wind" quest, you'll receive the recipe for the Black Wind Heavy Bow. For crafting, you'll need any root, reed, and bast. I suggest Pale Canopy Root, Pale Canyon Reed (harvest quickly if threatened by a Thanator), and Exquisite Shaded Waterweed. He has videos about these materials or KZbin them individually. Before gathering materials, consume Navaos Mushroom Pie for enhanced gathering abilities(Perfect Gathering & Nimble II). This pie requires Cloud Spitter Seed and Vineshroom, a video of this dish is on his channel. Next, eat a dish made from Pale Fireseed and Coronis egg to replace Nimble II with Nimble III. He has a video covering this. Craft the Black Wind Heavy Bow, which delivers 387 damage when crafted with Apex Master Crafter. For optimal performance, equip superior gear/mods that enhance weakspot and wildlife damage. Spec your hunting skills to include weakspot damage and damage to tagged enemies. Use the skewer dish mentioned in the video, tag your target (Down on the D-Pad), and achieve one-shot kills. Happy hunting!
