Mine is 3-1-4-2-5, mostly because season 3 was boring and pretty predictable, everyone knew miguel was going to get his legs back the only good thing about it was johhny be kreese and the Chozen story arc, season 1 was pretty good, but it was a series starter they weren’t going to put all their good ideas in the first season and they weren’t going to make it really amazing or really horrible. Season 4 was also decently good, johhny teaching Daniel Eagle-Fang and seeing Daniel revert back to his Cobra Kai self and seeing them go through the troubles and the learning how to work together, the all valley tournament wasn’t that great I think the only good matches were the final fights, the skills seemed forced and didn’t seem natural, the girls division just more split up the relationships between the characters, to be honest it wasn’t anything compared to the first all valley tournament. Season 2 was really good and well written, it really resembled the Myagi-Do vs Cobra Kai arc which is what the show is all about, I think that they brought in Daniel vs johhny very well because they were leading their respected dojos, I think that the rivalry between miguel and Robby was so elongated and so complicated that it wasn’t forced, they kept it surprising and not repetitive, if you were hearing about it every episode it would’ve felt forced and I really liked how they didn’t do that. Season 5 was by far the best season because it was pure fan service without being forced. They Robby vs Miguel rivalry was a little repetitive but they made it work, they fit in mike Barnes perfectly and chozen don’t get me started he was perfect, I don’t really like how mike Barnes didn’t show up much in the last fight but it wasn’t horrible, Kenny’s arc lost me his sudden change in persona was just out of nowhere because every now and then he is nice and then he is a compete menace, he’s never just one person. Miguel was back on top once again because he regained his skill and has regained his title as the best fighter, hawk was also great because he was trying to pick up the pieces of the two dojos and clean up the mistakes he made, I love how they have all the main characters in Daniel and johhny and chozens dojo because they have many different styles and they all coincide together in this way that just works perfect and I love it. The dark side of johhny and Daniel made me love it how Daniel got serious to the point where he does what needs to be done and dosent go overboard and johhny where he just goes all out, mike Barnes had once again proved his skill and that he still is the bad boy of karate, chozen is still the best fighter and he can easily kill someone if he wanted to. I think that this season with Tory was really well played out because it showed more in depth about what she’s going through and the pressure from kreese and silver, I really like what they did with her character development and her joining the good guys because she realizes the rivalry was between senses not the kids.

Not just their fight. But the entire fight at the house. Johnny just going beast mode taking on all those senseis and getting back up from a hard beat down (it’s that father strength). Mike Barnes coming in hot at the beginning almost taking out a sensei on his own (too bad he looked away and got knocked out early) and then coming in to save Johnny. And the Chozen vs Silver fight is the cherry on top. Oh yeah and Tyron Woodley getting his finger chopped off

Season 5 was actually my favorite because it was an awesome mess. It cut down on the teen silliness and actually had a big threat with violent stakes. It wasn’t as afraid to go places as the other seasons. Also, it made the main characters far more likable then they all have ever been.

I like every season of Cobra Kai. To be honest season 3 it was also good and not amazing and season 4 had many flaws, the writers milked the series also in the season 4. But yeah I also consider season 5 is close to best series, but for me season 1 will always be the best because of it's simplicity and it was focused more on Daniel and Johnny.

I think Season 5 is in my Top 3 behind Seasons 4 and 1. I understand the pacing and script were all over the place, but that’s what made this season so unique. The stakes were so high and the master plan was so devious that it felt natural for the storytelling to be all over the place. I watched the entire season Saturday night and I was so addicted because of how crazy and unpredictable that season was at first watch. However, Season 4 was a lot more consistent for me in terms of the storytelling and the action, and Season 1 is the most replayable because it has the closest thing to matching the magic of the OG Karate Kid movie. Plus, much like your point, I am sort of bummed that we didn’t get enough Mike Barnes. I will say though, Season 5 Johnny was the best version of Johnny Lawrence we have ever seen on both Karate Kid and Cobra Kai!

I loved season 5 but a major issue I had was that Kenny became way too good a fighter too fast. Ignoring the nasty punch to the chest he was taught, he was holding his own when fighting people like Hawk for way longer than he should have with the little time he'd been learning it.

Great list! Love how you're able to break down why certain aspects worked and didn't work for you in a few minutes. I love every season of the show, but some are definitely stronger than others. 5. Season 5- Entertaining, love the addition of Chozen and Silver is great as the main villain. But it lacks the student-mentor relationships that made the show great, and has very janky pacing. 4. Season 2- I don't have much against this season other than Stingray is kinda annoying, but nothing really stands out about it either. It's just an average season of dojo rivalry, but Kreese is a great addition and there are some great Johnny moments. 3. Season 3- Kreese is in full gear as the owner of Cobra Kai in all his over the top evil glory and we get more of his backstory, plus great moments from Danny and Johnny 2. Season 1- Love the simplicity of the story, seeing Johnny regain purpose through teaching Miguel, who is a fantastic character, and having Danny be sort of an antagonist while not a villain is an interesting angle we haven't seen before. Johnny is also at his most fish out of water in this season and it's hilarious. 1. Season 4- The show is firing on all cylinders this season and provides the most satisfying payoffs and moments in the show. Johnny finally working together with Danny and their styles conflicting, Kreese bringing in Silver as another threat that turns out to be even scarier than he seemed, Robby realizing the evil of Cobra Kai and reconciling with Johnny, Tory getting developed and rivalry with Sam heating up, Hawk regaining his confidence and winning the tournament. It feels like every character is important in some way and has an interesting part to play, and centering around the All Valley gives the story a clear goal and stakes. In my mind it could've ended with this and I would've been satisfied, but I'm excited to see where they go next!

S1>S3>Everything else. S1 was the simplest yet the best. Every episode had something to offer and wasn't boring. S3 was great too, we waited almost two years to see it but it was worth it, young Kreese, Daniel in Okinawa, Hawk redemption, Ali's return, Dee Snider cameo, the last fights in house/dojo and Daniel/Johnny finally teaming up. S2 was the most filler-ish but had the strongest ending. S4-5 were carried by Terry and Chozen.

I like every season and my top 2 are pretty equal. 5. Season 3, I thought the house fight was a little much and the Vietnam flashbacks felt meh but still a pretty good season. 4. Season 2, Some repeated storylines from season one and the school fight was over the top but still fun. 3. Season 5, they've so many characters to focus on now which is good and bad. Chozen and Silver steal the show this year. 2. Season 4, Terry Silver is the best bad guy in this franchise and Tory is the standout out of the teen characters. 1. Season 1 , it seemed to be the most focused because there were a lot less characters, I think Johnny's bond with Miguel is still the heart of this show.

For me, it goes: Season 3 Season 2 Season 5 Season 1 Season 4 Even then, Season 4 is still something I REALLY enjoyed. The main thing I love about Cobra Kai is how it recontextualises the lovable cheese of the Karate Kid series, fleshes out the characters and turns itself into a surprisingly smart commentary on generational trauma, moving forward from the past and achieving your potential. It has the kind of spirit we need more of in 2022

I agree. I love every season but nothing will beat Season 1 for me. Even though the fight scenes improved a lot later on, the original story felt the tightest and most grounded. Eventually the show gets kind of cartoony with its logic. All our karate gang warfare, general ignored crimes, serious wounds only sometimes having lasting effects (Miguel breaks his back and is back to doing flip kicks in like a year with no long term effects), apparent lack of any adult supervision for all these kids happening constantly, etc. It also does a lot of cheesy love triangles later as well (none of these are a bad things imo, I think the entire series is terrific, but it pushes the suspension of disbelief). But the first season was about a washed up guy pulling his life around and learning to start determining his value not from past missed glory but how he can teach others. And the kids who gravitate towards him finding a father figure they always needed. And unlike later seasons that get more akin to the original Karate Kid movies with 80s style villians and things, there's no real villian in S1; just flawed people learning to deal with the past and future. A good villian is fun, and both Kreese and Silver are great, but I personally appreciate less clear cut antagonists and heroes and more the human experience and life being the real villian. And it being tied to a famous franchise with history gives it way more depth than starting from scratch. While also having a lot of great fight scenes. I don't think anything they do will top it for me, even though each season is excellent, bc it felt like it had the most depth and realism to make it emotionally resonant.

My ranking is largely based on how much I thought the "mentor-student" relationship was front and center. 1) Season 1 2) Season 4 3) Season 2 4) Season 3 5) Season 5 I really felt like Season 5 was all the adults having issues with each other, and the kids were really on the sidelines. The two groups didn't seem to influence each other all that much (other than Johnny, Miguel, and Robby in the first half.) Not as mentor-student focused as the first 4 seasons imo, even though it was still fun to watch.

Season 1 is the best because it really had that Karate Kid feel to it and it paved the way for the entire series.. Season 2 was a drop off big time and the school brawl at the end was very unrealistic and I wasn't as enthusiastic about the next season when I got to the end of season 2....but season 3 would clean up the mess that was season 2.. My rank is 1. Season 1 .....5 stars 2. Season 5 .....5 stars 3. Season 4 .....4 and a half stars 4. Season 3 .....4 stars And in last place by far is.. 5. Season 2 .....2 and a half stars

Great list! I love Cobra Kai season 5 despite some of its flaws. My ranking least to best has to be: Season 2: It's still a good Season, however, the teenage drama was annoying me. Also, Daniel & Johnny's rivalry wasn't the best in this season to me. It felt very hallmarky. Not terrible, but should of been more balanced. Season 1: Even though it's the start if the series, I found the misunderstanding between Daniel & Johnny could of been solved sooner rather than later. Regardless, it was still satisfying to see to the cast from the original Karate Kid movies come back again in this series. Season 3: Even though I love seeing Ali, Chozen & Kumiko return to the franchise, and making Kreese more a three dimensional character, I felt the pacing with his character could of been better. Plus, I didn't like that he was making the same exact mistakes he made in the oringial Karate Kid seires and the Cobra Kai students, clearing doing tons of shenanigans & crimes and some if them getting away from them. Season 5: I love seeing Mike Barnes again, Chozen was the anchor of this season, Johnny and Daniel's growth from season 1-4 shows alot in this season, especially Johnny discovering that he's becoming a father, and starts to improve himself even more, Terry Silver being an excellent villian, the teenage drama wasn't that annoying/hallmarky, and you can tell that some of the students have really matured throughout the seasons etc. However, the first two episodes with Miguel trying to meeting his father felt a little cliche, but I'm glad it was short, the characters easily breaking and entering in homes no problem, the cliche misunderstanding when Daniel sees Mike Barnes on the phone, and the Mitch betraying Cobra Kai felt a little lazy to me. Still enjoyed every second of it. & Season 4 This season to me is the series best!! Silver returning felt like what the series needed. Silver not wanting to return at first because he wasn't comfortable being a sensei anymore, Daniel & Johnny being a little more mature, the students having their own journy of self discovery since their growing as well, the consequences felt more real, Silver admitting the absurd actions he did in the third Karate Kid movie which was hilarious, seeing Amanda helping Tory and Silver being a more competent villain. It had a Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back vibes to it to me. Plus, it was so satisfying seeing how Silver outsmart Kreese in the end! 🙏🏽💪👏

I'm a huge KK trilogy fan, and I was fine with how they used Barnes this season. The appearances of these guys on the show has to be earned. The show has always been about Johnny; Chozen was introduced in one episode of season 3, and finally now in season 5 he became a central main character. When we see them getting their asses kicked, we're supposed to feel fear. Barnes was introduced in one episode earlier in season 5, so if we see him getting hurt, nobody outside of the select KK3 fans are going to care too much. But, the fact that he was there and was angry as hell was justified because of what happened to him. Silver burning his store down set all the events in motion to the climactic fight at Silver's mansion. Also, think about this: the writers made Barnes seem like an unstoppable beast. He only took 1 hit combined from his fights with Chozen, Johnny, and 1st sensei- that hit was a kick to the chest from Johnny that he basically brushed aside. I feel like the writers want him to seem like a really good fighter; this was fan service again, because Barnes was always portrayed as the toughest opponent Daniel faced from the first 3 movies, and in a way they have kept him that way. How do you make the final fight dramatic if he is there to just destroy everyone? The writers did it the right way, just my opinion.

Completely agree on the handling of Mike Barnes episode 3 where he appears was a masterpiece for me loved it very well introduced and great seeing him again then he disappears for 6 episodes and then disappears for half that Final episode just really kills the momentum of the series for me. The final episode was similar to game of thrones final good very enjoyable but trying to squeeze to much in its 45 minutes its bit all over the place. Absolutely love Terry silver return he's been a great villain.

I know nobody will see this but I haven’t seen my ranking yet, so here it is: #1: Season 3 #2: Season 1 & Season 5 (TIE) #3: Season 2 #4: Season 4 The reason season 4 is my least favorite is because I found it too repetitive and overdone with Daniel and Johnny fighting and splitting up the dojos. I also thought they spent too much time on the new characters (Kenny, Anthony and Anthony’s friends) to the point that the pre-established characters such as Miguel, Sam, Hawk, Robby, etc. got sidelined to the detriment of their character arcs. Season 4 felt too packed and all over the place and is easily the worst season to me. It still has its great moments of course though.

My list: 5. Season 2, Great season but has the most frustrating things about it. The miyagi do characters were so frustrating to watch such as Daniel, Robby, Demetri, Sam. Nerfing Hawk( as a huge hawk fan) basically not winning any fights up until the school brawl which was rigged and also him losing to Demetri absolutely made no sense. The love drama was so unnecessary. But it had an amazing season finale better then most other season finales. 4. Season 3, Another Great season, the frustrating characters from season 2 were way more likable for me this season and they did Hawk justice in this season, only flaw is that there could've been more action before the house fight but other then that great season. 3. Season 1, I know a lot of people love this season and I did too but the reason why I can't put it in my top 2 is because of the whole drama in episode 9 and 10 between Sam Robby and Miguel which was so unnecessary and frustrating to watch but I still enjoyed the All Valley tournament in this season and Miguel and Johnny's sensei and student relationship. 2. Season 4, Took it an even step further with character development especially with Robby, Tory, and Hawk. The introduction to Silver and the All Valley was just amazing and pretty much no complaints for this season. 1. Season 5, Best season for me from start to finish, the final episode was my favorite that this series had introduced and the Miguel vs Robby rematch was epic to watch. The fights in Silver's house and at the cobra kai dojo were just epic.

This is extremely difficult for me so I’m just gonna give the entire series as a whole a 9-9.5/10. I don’t wanna rank season 2 at the bottom because it’s such an important season and set up everything that is to come. Plus it has some of my favorite scenes out of the entire show and probably the best soundtrack of any season (season 4’s is the second best but the best song imo is Call of the Cobra from season 3). I do however enjoy seasons 3, 4, and 5 more than 2 (I could swap any of these 3 around). I also don’t wanna put season 1 at the bottom due to how great it is. Yeah man this show is excellent. One of the greatest shows out there definitely better than a lot of the modern trash out right now.
