Connor McDavid was absolutely dealing Monday night, as he recorded 5 assists to help the Edmonton Oilers take a 1-0 series lead over the L.A. Kings.

These are basically McDavid *goals*. He's just using Hyman as a target for bank shots.

@@jdbroome8125 He's playing in the most unbelievably talented period in the history of the sport. I think he's the most skilled player to ever lace them up, but it's just harder to win as a superstar in the modern NHL, when so many superstars are running around.
@jdbroome8125Ай бұрын
@@Implicit_Truth most talented players yes but the least amount of physical obstacles to overcome to go along with endless power plays and 3 on 3 overtimes the likes no superstar has seen before. gOaT? Not even top 3 in the past 30 years 1. Gretz 2 Mario 3 Sid .

@@jdbroome8125 I'm not calling him the goat, he doesn't have the tenure. I'm saying he is the most skilled player to ever step on the ice, which is more of an eye test than a resume check. You're right that the league is less physical and chippy now. But there is more parity between teams, and there are more teams, which are the two key measures for how hard it is for good players to win championships. I didn't live through the Gretzky era but I'm not ignorant to how the game was played, I've watched pretty much all playoff runs from that era in full thanks to KZbin vods. The play was dirtier and tougher but the defenders and goaltenders were legitimately worse than you'd see in the AHL nowadays. Listen to how Gretzky talks about how he was lucky to play in that era, it's just true that scoring was much easier.

McDavid isn’t p playing like that anymore because he wants to get more assists this season and he might start doing it again next season

Last goal Hyman looked like even he didn't realize the puck went in. It's almost as if McDavid is also outplaying his own teammates.

It was more about him hoping it's not changes to a kick goal which it was.
