Yes Marner gets more points than Guentzel but Jake is a bigger playoff performer than Mitch is, that’s big value. If they get Jake for 7M then there’s more money for more depth maybe on D or for a goalie. They simply just have to get Mitch out, it’s just not working

The leafs problems are not management, it’s your captain. When Mike Kennan quit on the Rangers in 94, Messier took on the load. Tavares is the worst captain in the NHL, and inspires no one. Give Matthews the C and dump Tavares. He ran from a good islanders team. He has no leadership ability. The Captain raises the team up in tough times.
