Unless they have changed anything more than remove MB and Mind Sear, HP damage was good, as long as you know how to do it, something that ,I must say, have seen no one do right yet, so do not despair. Anyway, with the removal of the engineering BR, we are going to see only druids as healers, so it does not matter if you are Holy priest, disc priest or Holy paladin.

Holy priest is insanely good, don't listen to this guy did +10's in beta np. The lego cloak is amazing (loads of skips) and have more mobility then BFA. Kyrian cov lets you pump dmg when needed and covers our only defensive weakness. Between Circle/MAss dispel its great for certain weeks too now for bursting/grev

The two healers I’m taking I to slands are Rsham and disc priest. For rsham i chose the venthyr ability... chain harvest absolutely slaps. In large trash pulls it does so Much dmg and burst healing to the group. A very good button to press

What do you do when healing is not required? Just stand there? That’s basically sandbagging/trolling your group (all those seconds picking your nose could have been turned into a few smites/moonfires/etc). For healers very new to wow or healing, sure, focus on healing. But a healer that can actually contribute to the group with dps (and utility) has *always* been what separates bad/mediocre healers from great ones. Dead mobs/bosses do no damage that needs to be healed!

I can understand when pushing high keys that it makes sense that the healer needs to contribute in dps but other than that I think in normal dungeons just focus on keeping the group alive first and foremost.

I think the problem with Holy is that it's treated as the tutorial/generic healer, so it's assumed that whenever someone gets a good hold on the role they'd just switch to Disc because "it's better".

The funny thing for me (as a priest since i joined 10+ years ago), is that the higher the key i go (and with not amazing gear like 198 ilvl atm) is that i enjoy holy in higher keys and disc in lower. Holy feels much more relaxed and easier in higher keys and disc feels like i need to pay attention a lot more. It slowly changes as i get used to disc and also the more gear i get obviously the smoother it becomes playing disc in higher keys.

As a holy paladin one trick- I've been doing pretty great in aoe healing with beacon of virtue build. It's been amazing and holding up pretty well as long as you know your class and rotation down to the T.

For utility it's worth mentioning that shaman brings lust, if mages or hunters are not around

Shamans have more utility than just lust. An aoe stun, slow, root, hex, a short cd interrupt and a tank-pet are a lot of things that no other class offers in that combination. It might not be the best healer in dishing out raw green numbers, but you can compensate for a lot of pug mouthbreathing.

I can’t tell you how many wipes I’ve saved from the tank getting one shot and me dropping earth ele and kiting and using my kit properly. I started playing Resto shaman at the end of BFA and it instantly became my favorite healer.

Shamans definitely have some cool niche utility. I think interrupt and lust are the two things that really make them stand out. The interrupt is not important if there's a melee / prot pally meta, and lust probably depends on whether mages and hunters are in play. Earth ele gets smacked really fast in not even so high keys though.

Nis Sand Jacobsen you can heal it thoooo. Also being the only healer with an aoe stun/int is great. As well as earthgrab, earthbind, and tremor. Not to mention they have one of the more complicated healing kits. Setting up your party with strong heals and prep to go into big heals so you can DPs in the mean time.

@@vamborala i have a different mindset, i pref to play heal or tank so i try to pick a class that can perform both for situational specc changing and mixing things up. thats why i considered playing druid ( as always ) Paladin, Monk. In the end it was a close run but Monk did it for me, its a fun playstyle and good in pvp, also brewmaster becomes very good.

Resto druid will be the strongest choices for difficult affix weeks, but push weeks Disc's damage is just gunna make them a better choice on high keys. Disc also gunna be the best progression raid choice in the upcoming content, boss for two forms of content.

Hi, imo top 2 heals are clear, druid and disc priest, but it's a tie for me, since it mainly will depend of party setup. I'll explain myself (take into account that this is beta and there are still 2 months of tuning): 1) If the party has no bress druid is clearly the winner there. 2) If the party has a bress (but not a lock), druid might be tied with disc priest 3) If the party has lock, disc priest is better, since lock can ss himself in order to always have bress up, also pairing Power Infusion into DPS cds is OP as fk. 4) Depending of the dungeon, one is better than the other one. For example, in Halls druid is better since there are several curse dispels.

Holy Priest getting PW: Shield back, Prayer of Mending going to Instant Cast... Renew getting a really good buff with the new first row talent Renewed Faith. Benediction and Holy Word Salvation will make it nuts for raid healing I'd guess. Apotheosis talent just got buffed as well. And for PvP, Divine Ascension is a pretty neat new talent, like a healing version of the Demon Hunter PvP talent "Rain from Above". Take my thoughts with a grain of salt, because I haven't played the SL Beta at all, but what I've read I'm pretty happy with. That being said I have All 6 healer classes at 120 now so I will definitely have to pick one before October, LOL

@Ryan Tandy a nerf wouldn't fix anything. the fact that disc has and will always overshadow holy is not even debatable. the only thing that could fix the issue is an overall of either of the specs because right now, disc's toolkit is far better than holy's. holy basically only does brute force hps, disc does that too but can also provide damage reduction which is a huge deal in mm. they have a decent external cd, holy has wings which is arguably the worst external of all heal specs. and last but not least they provide non negligeable damage, holy does not unless they completely stop healing.

Jacob Custer it is balanced, rDruid takes quite some knowledge to set the heals up due to the preactive nature of hots. Not all classes should have all tools, 97% of the players never push above 15 keys, 70% never go above 10 and below 10 who cares. I main a rShaman and I was always fine and I had never anyone reject me due to not being a druid. Brez wont make a bad player good, and a bas group clean the dungeon.

I just started leveling a mistweaver with my friends, and its actually pretty decent. In addition, the smart heals make it a good beginner healer imo ^^

Mistweaver is so good. When you are new you can play reactively and not be punished too hard for doing so, plus your single target tank healing is huge. When you become comfortable and learn dungeons so that you can move to proactive healing it really takes off in enjoyment and starts pulling off a lot

Ease of play also need to be a factor. Doesn't matter if something is best if most people can't play at the level where they can abuse that specs advantage. Final tuning hasn't been done yet either so as you said, this is what is good atm :)

I've been playing priest holy, and in dungeons from legion my team always dies it doesn't heal that much and run out of mana too fast, I feel shaman is way better my shaman heals a lot of health I can fill someone's health with 2 spells, and I always struggle with my priest, I wanna main priest but I'm having a hard time healing am I doing something wrong? My priest is lvl 32 and in dungeons my team dies most of the times

I think the weak AoE being for Holy Paladin is because you didn't take Beacon of Hope as a talent? Yeah, I know Glimmer competes with it, but BoH has been mt go-to talent for M+ since Legion. It makes things go much smoother.

Rankings are nice, but tier lists let you give tangible separation between what you feel are equal gaps. A ranked list implies the difference between the specs could be nonexistant, or infinite in gulf.

I liked the list, but one thing i didnt like is saying that only mistweavers have harder mana management. This feels like a very subjective topic and depends on experience on the specific healer. And they also have great aoe healing outside of revival and way of the crane. Their mastery helps out alot.

I think it’s worth noting that the dungeons in SL have been much more punishing as a melee player. So not only will hpalls and mws have a rough time, but rshamans will also if a 1 melee dps comp is more meta. Feels chainheal man

And I think every class is good for M +, you can look at wow rio that all classes can heal high keys, but the highest keys will probably heal 1-2 classes again ..

I doubt resto shaman will be good enough to play in M+ dungeons, too many boss/affix mechanics that require your party to NOT stack, so you can't keep up with heals.

Hoy I had a question and wondering if anybody could help me out. So I grew tired of Dh and wanted to become a healer and picked priest. I was thinking about choosing Holy since i heard that its more beginnerfriendly, but Disc just looks better in every way. Now the question is : Should I get used to disc from the start, or should i begin with Holy and switch to disc later on ?

Just get used to disc now. Honestly disc will probably just be more useful in both dungeons and raids for the forseeable future, especially since blizz doesnt seem *that* inclined to address holy's problems. Also holy is a lot easier to learn later on compared to disc, so no pressure to learn it now (saying this as a holy main for 6 yrs).

Start with disc As long as disc stays the same in raids, it will be top tier due to Evangelism being busted, Barrier being must have on progress and in general healer doing damage without losing healing is superior to others Right now it's also really strong in m+, it has one of the strongest covenant abilities for its spec and soulbinds are good for it One of the best times to roll disc 100% Holy is really easy and you'll be able to try it later on if you'd want to

My advice as a Holy Priest main, level a Resto Druid. It's been 4 years and Holy hasn't received a single meaningful buff. They took a a lot of abilities away in BfA (When we were already the worst Healer) and are telling us they are "Buffing" us by giving some back. But if you are dead set on Priest, play Disc, and only Disc. Unless Holy gets massive changes they are gonna to be the worst for another 2 years.

Hey man great video as always. I'm gonna make the switch from hpaly to resto druid coming Shadowlands. Wanted to ask something. Forgive my ignorance. How does resto druid counter a sustain or burst aoe damage scenario? Like on prideful? Eflo on the floor, swiftmend and wild growth? Can't think of anything else, and this combo doesn't seem powerfull enough to keep oeaply alive. What do I forget?

Rejuv, wild growth, efflo on everyone as much as possible. You can single target regrowth/swiftmends on people who are taking more damage, and use tranq or convoke (nightfae) if you fall behind. You can juice your wild growth with soul of the forest as well for a bit of extra party healing.

Hi man, just a little curious about how you rate the Shaman healer's utility. Not sure how popular or common this idea is, but i have always regarded shamans as a healing toolbox. They have always been able to tool themselves through talents/azarite traits/artifact relics to deal with most scenario's. Granted they aren't the most optimal choice for those scenario's but def hold their own. But what about those other tools they have. Totems like tremor and wind rush, an interrupt, self rez, etc. The toolbox seems similar to what shamans have had at their disposal for a while now. So i am not surprised to hear you say they struggle a little in M+. But i am mainly curious how you would rank them utility wise towards other healers. Also yes i agree, having a flat Damage reduction ability would be amazing. Something along the lines of Iron bark or pain suppression. I hoped they would boost a spell to grant this effect. Unleash life or earth shield giving a DR, maybe redesign earth wall so you pop it on someone. Giving them DR and an AoE around them that grants others in it a chance to absorb some damage.

The reason they suffer coincides with their lack of a Damage Reduction. They have very poor tank healing overall, which matters a lot when you get to high keys.

Thank you for this vid. Im coming back to the game and was very discouraged to be honest. I love my resto druid, it was my first and best character back in BC, but cat weaving is just not my thing at all. I did try but i hate being in melee. I never ever had melee class and it is something that makes me irritated. After watching some videos on KZbin i had an idea that for resto druid it is either cat or GTFO. I see you shapeshift in to boom and you made my day:) I am absolutely for contributing to dps in dungeons, and live doing it, but kitty and melee is just no no for me. Im super exited now!

So basically nothing changes between BFA and Shadowlands with exception of bursting being dispelable which makes Disc priest really good all of sudden.

On top of that, every bolt of Penance removes a stack of Grievous. At the start of xpacs, everyone does less damage. Those are the only 2 affixes disc struggled with. Unlike BFA 8.3, healer damage will matter a lot more in SL S1 (9.0). This only furthers disc viability.

Holy has no utility, mobility, or survivability. Its healing doesn't make up for this. It's basically a worse Mistweaver. It also has no external Damage Reduction cool down for tanks (e.g. Pain Suppression). On top of all of this, Holy's damage is weak and you have to stop healing to do damage.

So we have to heal more in shadowland dungeons/mythics, AND bring utility AND contribute dps? That's an awful lot of extra that the deeps & tanks aren't expected to bring. I like a challenge but I also like finishing content without feeling like I just pushed a giant Boulder up a mountain only to have it roll back down for the next 2 years of expansion. As it is the affixes most weeks in bfa feel like they're all designed as healer checks.

Discipline is kicked immediately as healer in every group I've been in (Raid or Mythic). They CAN'T heal. They can't DPS either. Give a Warrior a stack of bandages and they can heal about as good as Discipline priest (Seriously not joking here). I personally can out-heal a Discipline priest with a Prot Paladin. Other than even including them in your review, I agree with just about every thing else.

As a HolyPriest main, I really want to be Night Fae instead of Kyrian. I think the soulbinds will make up for the weaker class ability, but I guess we'll find out soon.

Main holy here... My opinion is: 1. Kyrian will give you some extra dmg plus heal but that do not fix a problem- our utility and movement speed... 2. Nigh fea is soo underrestemated... Many youtubers are saying that its nôt great for m+ and raid environment.. Really?... It give us some movement speed ability which can be usefull in both environment... Dmg reduction... Not usefull? This is what we beg for few expantions and when we get it its not that great? Bulshit 😠.. This can help holyp a lot when used properly. CD on major class ability this can help too since some classes have long cds you can help reduce their cds and improve their dmg.... Wrathfull fearie is only ability that i think is kinda "meh" But since exp is delayed they have time maybe bring some thing new. I would recomened you to pick night fea... But final choice is yours😘✌️ 2.

I love and hate these types of videos. On the one hand, I play all of the healers, so regardless of whether they're underpowered or overpowered I'm going to be playing them all in a Mythic scenario and trying my best to push high keys. On the other hand, it's just interesting watching all the changes between expansions and seeing where they start to float in their new ranks.

Yeah, the difference is this time we only have 2 weeks before raid opening. That means I am going to need to pick a main to focus on pretty heavily. For me it is a draw between shaman and druid. The shaman definitely wins at raiding but they are looking really really bad at M+ right now due to the lack of single target and prideful and many of the other mechanics kinda encourages spreading out which really sucks. The two affixes they removed were literally the ones where you wanted to stack more on the tank and stack higher melee dps.
