There's a really nice "Levitate makes you faster" conduit that is super useful for Priests. In Beta when I run it + the "shield makes you run faster" talent I get about double the run speed. It's not perfect of course and if you get smacked you lose Levitate, but it makes running between mob packs in dungeons way more tolerable.

I've just finished leveling a resto druid to 120 and it will probably be my main in sl... My main in bfa was a holy pally... I just love playing as a healer but I struggled so much with solo content with my pally (doing horrific visions with crap dps was hard)... sometimes I even consider leveling a dps and forgetting about this healer thing.. but then... When a dps want to enter in random finder stuff it takes one hour... as a healer it is instant... Choices, choices... So many choices to make

Was thinking the same thing. I was planning on multi specing say ele/resto for instance but with covenants it’s a bit difficult. So now I’m thinking maybe I should just dedicate myself to a healing spec that can do solid dps as well. Obviously disc stands out there.

@@alfredocalderon6128 he probably means best healers that can solo content, for example i had an unpleasant (not impossible tho) doing visions on my monk cause i didnt have an interrupt, and with unlucky corruption procs i lost a vessel to it. For example the sheep from alleria and the mage guy i forgot the name of xD

Maybe my experience may differ from others - but in my opinion all of the solo content in world of warcraft is super easy you can do it with any healer pretty well. I have a video about torghast and some of my experiences as a resto druid in it here if you are interested in some of my thoughts on the system and how it was soloing it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fanXf3x3gsuMedk . The summary is essentially that almost all solo content is easy and I don't think you should pick a spec based off of its ability to do solo content. I know there are some solo content only players, but I guess I assumed they aren't healer mains.

The first point is so true, play what truly appeals to you. I am a holy paladin at heart and just don't find the other heals as exciting and badass, so I'll stick to it and still progress just fine. I've realized over time that playing fotm is just a super shitty way to play the game

When Druids had tree form back in the day, I always wanted them to give us a Root ability and then it would shake leaves down healing up to 5 people for x amount every 3 seconds. Just a little something extra...lol or just shake the hot from Lifebloom every three seconds

I level in resto spec with feral affinity. While you are soloing stuff generally just dont get mastery while focusing on damage trinkets/soulbinds and you are good to go.

In the prepatch so far I feel like they flipped healers around. The best feeling healer to me is resto shaman right now. Holy priests had some really good changes, really enjoying it. Discipline has been the biggest disappointment for me, I don't know if its because holy feels better or if the loss of the absorb shield for the whole raid really hurts. Discipline just doesn't have good cool downs. Mistweaver seems fine, have not played it much though. Resto druids feel pretty weak right now.

I'm playing MW since Legion in M+ (lots of PUG) and raids (mostly HC guild progression with few mythic boys) and I'm tempted at going Disc for Shadowlands (had Disc alt during Tomb of Sargeras) but I have a feeling that at the content I'm doing and how I'm doing reactive healer is "easy mode" and Disc has less of advantages. Also MW has "cheat mode" with like essence font in raid, chi burst, RJW. In M+ in BfA they added insta-cast healing which is a "win more" mechanic that just overvalues MW vs other healers (not talking about very high end game content). And ring of peace, mobility is handy.

I played disc raiding in BFA and honestly I’m kind of over it. There’s a lot of stress for me disc healing because most of my time is just spent trying to keep atonement up on many people while trying to dps, and none of it is reactive. There’s so much proactive knowledge you need for fights in order to get atonement and trying to ramp up heals by dps. Often in fights I was reacting too slow to some damage spikes just because damage spikes exist. Idk I’m thinking of switching to Mistweaver or Holy Paladin myself. Or even resto shaman.

Holy is fine for raids generally, it has good throughput and the mastery is great. I imagine for mythic raiding it will be less desirable than disc because of the cooldowns that disc brings.

Well that's the problem. All healers can heal, what makes them competitive is what they can do outside of healing - damage and utility. Holy Priest can heal well, yes, but that's pretty much it.

They're really not good for M+ due to their core weakness being impossible to keep up with heals once your group has to split due to boss mechanics or affixes. That's really their only issue but it's such a massive issue you will wipe and that means resto shaman just doesn't cut it.

6:44 I know what you are trying to say there but that is simply not true. Monks can single target heal very strong but it requires several globals to do that. It is not a "one button press" ez single target heals. RM>Soothing>Enveloping>Vivify spam. You have a ramp up which requires at least 3 GCDs and if you wanna go full mana burn mode throw in EF after RM and cancel it when ur tank has the HoT for 2x Mastery proc. The heal is then insane but there is a rampup of GCDs - always. I'm just saying this so that new players don't get false expectations for MW.

The thing everyone fails to mention about holy paladin is that Aura Mastery doesn't show up on meters. So realistically nobody is going to notice your big raidwide CD (this coming from me who mains hpala for years now). Combined with the fact we have now lost 20% haste from holy avenger, and glimmer of light has been heavily nerfed (in terms of higher mana cost from crusader strike and longer GCD and CD on holy shocks from losing haste + ineffable truth) So basically you will just look like a chump on the meters and unless you have an understanding raid lead - people will probably start to talk about replacing you. Yes - aura mastery is very viable and powerful in high end raiding... No - I would not rely on the general playerbase to understand that. It's why I will be re-rolling Shaman for this xpac unless some significant changes come through

If you have never healed then you really should level them in healing build a lot of times because you will find and better understand tricks that others will not know by just switching to healer and not understanding how your spells work..

So looking at this, coming from FFXIV back to WoW, it looks like discipline is going to be the best option. It’s basically green DPS, and it has exclusive access to Rescue- I mean, Life Grip. Because if there’s one thing I don’t trust other people to do, it’s stay out of the bloody fire. Yes, in both games, I’m looking at you in particular, BLM and Frost mage mains. EDIT: on the other hand, I may need to tweak my “but you didn’t die” mentality coming back, though. That’s just gonna get us all killed

Chi jibis amazing on m+ keys that allow melee uptime, it's very power and satisfying for spread aoe damage. The anima golems for example in halls of atonement are a great example. It also synergizes incredibly right now with Extend Life from the lego Tears of Morning.

Monk is IMO the least beginner friendly healer. ST healing is hardly ever the biggest issue, monk has just one bad external as well so all their healing is reactive. Also the lack of CD just means that if you slip for a moment there isn't a big button to press that will magically fix your mistake.

But both priests can be played all the way through... But Druids have a great utility.. great AOE heals.. They heal all the time and that’s how you do them..

The different healers work differently and a player needs to find a healer which fits their personality. Monk, shaman, and Druid are linear. Cast A, if that is not enough cast B, and so on. Holy Paladin and to a lesser extent Holy Priest is not. That drives some people crazy.

I sometimes really like to watch old videos and see how they aged. Like schamen is not that "popular" but as it turned out it ruled m+ for a while. No other Druide spec sees play right now... Boomkin disagrees.
