Nice stream! I really like the lists. I agree with you I don't need alot of long drawn out stuff or fancy extras. I just want to escape. I like the first one alot as it kept my attention and the characters were fun to watch in addition to the dinosaurs. I wonder why it always seems like when movies do series the first few are always the best and then they start going downhill 🤷

One thing I really like about the Jurassic World movies (think it was in the first) is that B D Wong's character explicitly says words to the effect that the dinosaurs are products/fantasy theme park attractions - to explain why, for instance, the velociraptors are over twice the size we know from the fossil record (and how none of the theropod dinos from the original movies have feathering). I thought that was a fairly smooth way of addressing the main criticism of the original film - where they chose not to be scientificially accurate and, where they were accurate to a 1990s understanding, it smooths over why they weren't accurate to a 2020s understanding. I think one thing the Jurassic World movies miss out on is they seem to laser focus onto the larger carnivores with big teeth and long claws: the original movie series gave us more awesomeness with the herbivores, plus - velociraptors and spinosaurus aside - the dinosaurs generally acted like animals (opportunistic, sometimes indifferent) rather than motivated villains.

Honestly, I have had no desire to watch the new Jurassic World movies yet. I may watch it as a trilogy and take it in all at once. I honestly would rank the original trilogy exactly the same as you.,.... I love Sam Neil as an actor so I may be a little biased.

Being a 9 year old and watching the first one repetitively on VHS really set me up for a huge letdown when i saw the second one in the theater. So bad because they kinda skipped the subtle suspense build up and dove head first into another outlandish cliffhanger almost like the first movie. Ok I'm done with vehicles hanging off of ledges or trees. All i can say is this review is definitely NOT "one big pile of s#1t".
