Some people say they don't like these because they are like premade toys. I totally don't agree. It may look like it but think about collectors or just normal kids, its nice to play outside with, so yeah. I really love these things especially Morro.

the reason that they are not meant for battle is because if you watch the show they are never used for battle, it is a way to get from one place to another quickly, effectively, and nearly effortless

If you have seen these at a toy fair you should know that they could also be put up side down and then spun to act as a spinjitzu spinner. Other than , that a great review like always.

gokai red I wasn't aware of that, so thanks for sharing! I just tried it and they do spin upside down, but it's actually more stable & less exciting that way than right side up because of the rotor downforce and lower center of gravity. With the smooth outer surface of the rotors, no protruding weapons, and figures completely sealed & locked in place, it's still nothing like a Spinjitsu spinner experience. You can't tell who wins, movements are slow & subtle, it's just a couple of spinning tops that don't do much except spin down & stop :-/

Also if you spin them inside, they can battle on the ceiling, which looks cool, and you could judge whose wins by who touches the ground first, I guess...

I find it interesting how they include the extra weapons that aren't usable with the flyers; LEGO seems to know that there will be those getting them for the spinner, the minifigure and/or the weapons...and any of those three might actually make me get a couple. As for my ranking, I guess it'd be something like this: *Eins* -- _Morrow_ -- Greens work well together. Sweet weapons and while outfit isn't exclusive, I find it cooler than Cole and Zane (no puns intended) *Zwei* -- _Kai_ -- Alright weapons, and red is a good high-contrast color - plus, heat rises *Drei* -- _Jay_ -- Close to second if only because blue just _works_ for Airjitzu, and the weapons aren't bad *Vier* -- _Zane_ -- Colors are generic enough to work well, but weapons aren't too special *Funf* -- _Cole_ -- Cool weapons, but I find the orange/black outfit a bit awkward next to the gold and brown, plus other ninja have same-color mask/arms. Close to 4th *Zechs* -- _Wrayth_ -- Weapons/colors don't quite interest me and the contrast is odd next to the others whose colors are close matches

It seems like you could make two spinners "battle" in a similar manner to the old spinjitsu sets by pulling the ripcord slowly enough so that they don't go very high, since when they land, they will continue to spin for a while. How you would determine the victor, however, is another matter entirely.

Not as much as much play value? They have just as much value as the old ones. Flip them upside down and can be used as Spinjitzu tornadoes.

Jang, have you ever tried taking two airjitzu flyers and connecting their ripcords with technic pins? Then, having two people pull the handles apart simultaneously, try to battle that way?

I may get Morro just for the figure seeing as I don't plan to buy the Destiny's Bounty(the funds just aren't there). I suppose it really depends on if I like him as a character. As a whole I find these kinda lame. The just seem sort of... Cheap. Whereas the spinners were versatile and heavily customize-able, these are just "clone sets." You can't try to improve your strategy via experimenting with different weapons, arrangements, blades, add-ons, figures, etc. like you could with the Spinjitzu spinners.
