Big Mom was my favorite yonko introduction. Whitebeard was badass, yes, and showing Kaido desperately trying to kill himself while failing was also pretty showing of his power. But what really convinced me that Yonkos are no joke was the fact that the strawhats + reinforcements came with the goal to kill LinLin only for her to quickly change their plans to "how the FUCK DO WE GET AWAY FROM THAT MONSTER". no talk-no-jutsu, no *LOVEISSTRONGERTHANHATE*, no sudden powerup. just pure good old terror. you don´t often see a shonen protagonist literally running for his life.

dude I agree that was my favorite part of wci. The assasination plan which normally Luffy wouldn't get himself into as he fights fair and don't like dirty win. But BM was just too much of a monster back then, that she's untouchable. Luffy really was desperate at that time that he joined up with Bege just to save sanji and family. It was also the rare moment that Luffy ever freaked out with an enemy. Normally he's just always moving forward and doesn't show any sign of fear. But with this he's literally running away to the mirror, til it's broken. Shit was hilarious lol.

In order to beat Mihawk, I think felt he would have had to kill him and refused basically. The final villain my best bet would be Im (short for Immortal?). I believe SHE has mythical zoan fruit GAIA ( wife of Uranus in greek mythology ). And with this power she created the devil fruits by intent or by accident. She had six sons, the 5 elders and Joyboy-by the way they are all huge people or tall. Let's not forget that Kaido was also literally carrying an entire island during said fight. That had to have played a role in his defeat. While characters have crazy desructive capabilities, It's easier to break a cinder block than to carry one.

Again, part of the fight was that Kaido was carrying the island to destroy Kuri. Kaido could have let go of the island at any point had he thought it would help him focus more on defeating Luffy - but he didn't, so I assume that carrying the island was a one and done thing, as in Kaido conjured up the clouds and then was able to forget about them.

For those that say that Kaido was damaged before his fight with luffy, it should be reminded that Luffy, when he awakened gear 5, was pretty much dead. It was specifically shown that Luffy can barely even stay in his gear 5 form and was NOWHERE near full health, meaning that if he was full health, he'd be much, much stronger. TLDR Luffy beat kaido while on the brink of death. That's how powerful his gear 5 is.

I notice that all the top characters of one piece have one specific category that they overwhelmingly excel in. Like shanks for example, his haki is arguably the strongest and also having extremely fine swordsmanship despite not being the best at it but it's up there for sure. Blackbeard who has extremely high intelligence makes for a fine strategist; whilst also having not just one strong devil fruit, but two. Whitebeard who not only had one of the strongest devil fruits in the series, but also had advanced mastery with polearm arts and having one of the 12 supreme grade swords.

Not only was Kaido not bothered by his injuries by the time the 1v1 between him and Luffy came around, but Luffy himself was not in top condition when he first encountered Kaido: his stamina was sapped by running all around Onigashima looking for the Yonkos, but he had also had to deal with (along with Kidd, Law and Zoro) 2 Yonko at once, AND he had been on the verge of death before the 1v1 fight. Luffy had also taken a very unfair blow from CP0 during his fight.

Highly incorrect there buddy, Luffy had more than enough chances to recover throughout the entirety of his battles whilst Kaido continuously fought and intentionally didnt avoid any dmg from those throwing attacks at him. He bet luffy a number of times until finally luffy got gear 5 which is proven tht whn u are given an awakening ur stam and health regen fully. Take into consideration Kaido lifted an entire island whilst fighting non stop and still manages to beat luffy numerous times. Kaido was jumped by Zoro, Law, Kidd the scabbards and some others while luffy had time to rest. Kaido also was over confident and if he wanted to end luffy first and second time he could have with ease. Gear 5 Luffy couldnt even beat Kaido 1v1 if he was at full strength

Luffy also has an armada crewed by powerful worst generation captains, kings, and powerful races of sentient beings. Shanks doesn't have anything like that, neither does Black Beard, but Buggie does and it is more well known and organized. Luffy has the backing of several governments, multiple pirate crews, pretty much every island he has ever landed on, and the Giant's leaders like him. Heck even some Marines would follow him if given the option. His bounty should be way higher than it is.

Luffy is openly using his Gear 5th abilities. Gear 5th has been recorded on film. Dragon and Shanks are probably tied for number 1 in terms of threats to the world government. Then comes Buggy who is actively putting out bounties on high ranking marines. The top three are active threats to the world government's control. Luffy and Vega Punk are passive threats. They could cause problems but are not actively trying to for the most part.

He led an escape from the most secure prison in the world, Impel Down. He stood on the same level as White Beard during the paramount war, and originally planned to kill Whitebeard, but spared him after seeing his degenerating health. He amassed a huge pirate crew, and became one of the 7 warlords of the sea. Of course he's a real Yonko.

Gozen you forgot that after fighting the Scabards, Supernovas and Yamato it was stated by Yamato and Momo that Kaido was taking significant damage. As in the Flame Clouds holding up Onigashima we’re visibly weakening and this was long before Luffy achieved Gear 5th. Whether you want to argue the Flame Clouds represents his stamina and not his HP I don’t care because regardless it proves kaido wasnt at 100% far from it , which is I why I don’t think we can say Luffy really beat him 1v1

If you remember correctly back when the supernovas were fighting Big Mom and Kaido, Kaido had to dodge multiple attacks from Luffy (before he learned advanced conquerors Haki) because they could damage him. Zoro’s Asura scarred, not to mention the multiple clean advanced conquerors punch and kicks from Luffy that he wasn’t able to defend against.

It’s because luffy doesn’t have complete mastery over infusing himself with conquerors as kaido does. Once he gets trained by shanks to fully master his conquerors, then luffy will truly be above kaido in terms of power

Kaido, the strongest creature alive and the guy who jumped off a sky island to kill himself but failed,I don't think I need to say anything more about him. Big mom is an anomaly in my opinion as well,like how that one small human was able to give birth to her?..And she is very, extremely powerful. Blackbeard is the only character with two devil fruits.. and finally Luffy who has literally the most absurd and broken power in the entire world. And if you go to the past you have whitebeard who was the most awesome owaji in the series and the strongest man in the world

I am new to one piece, on episode 153, and I have to say I love buggy, I find him hilarious and I like his devil fruit powers as well, and he has amazing charisma as well, I know it’s not likely but I would love to see him get a power up in some sort, maybe awaken his devil fruit powers even more or develop some sort of haki!

shanks is my giga chad, imagine he was once in One Piece, all of the crew acquiring knowledge about how to beat any DF users and maximize the Human Haki potential but also knowing the secret of the world. not just strong, Shanks Figarland posses a knowledge were goverment doesnt have and he can simply be time ticking bomb for goverment and the amount of knowledge power and capability, he can easly change everbody mind to rebels againts the goverment in one piece world if shanks was pushed too far.

Prime whitebeard is not stronger than kaido and big mom combined. This is one piece not Naruto or bleach where you just blitz them. Fight among them is extreme difficulty. Old Whitebeard is by far the weakest emperor

I honestly hate blackbeard because his devil fruit power makes no fucking sense whatsoever "darkness is gravity" wtf? No, darkness is simply the absence of light and in no fucking way correlates to gravitational forces beyond gravity itself being capable of forming black holes. Shouldve just given him a straight up gravity devil fruit instead of combining darkness and gravity like that. Darkness being able to control gravity makes no fucking sense whatsoever even in an anime context like this. Wouldve been so much better if it was the other way around, and his gravity devil fruit power allowed him to suck up all the light photons in an area creating darkness from that.

I believe that bb can't become invinsible such as other logia users because there are things that keep countering his df nature. For example Rubber for lightning Water, liquid for sand So which means the reason why bb can't use dark full potential because all of the time is he is fighting during daytime. So I wonder how strong he can be if there are no source of light in the area where he was so I believe during that time he can use his df full potential if there's no source of light. That's why they need black mantle to wrap wb so he can turn to liquid and stole the df

I wouldn't say Kaidos damage before fighting luffy in round three isn't significant. Kaido ran the gauntlet before Luffy reached him again, he was being chipped away at stamina wise and damage wise.

People give BB to much credit. They act like he had everything planned from the start but he had nothing planned besides thinking WB crew would be the easiest way to get the Yami. Then went after luffy to become a warlord but Ace found him instead. Which then lead to him being able to get WBs fruit. Luffy BB and buggy all have the highest luck in the series just in different ways.

I think that the dark dark fruit is the reason why Blackbeard is able to eat two devil fruits because of the black curtain that was used to cover Blackbeard and whitebeard. It cost complete darkness to abtain a second devil fruit. And the dark dark fruit controls the power of the second devil fruit(most likely).

I am so happy Netflix is slowly but surely putting out English-dubbed seasons. I know Crunchy Roll is more up to date but paying for Netflix already I'm able to wait. I just hope they don't stop putting out new seasons. Considering it has been out for over 20 years, it seems like it's only growing in popularity. Plus I'm super interested in seeing how the live-action flick does and how many seasons will they make. The anime television series is still going on so the live-action has plenty of material they could use to keep it going. But will Netflix screw up as they normally do? Stranger Things has a cult following and Netflix has already canceled season 5 😞
