You don't have to finish, after you collect the money you can leave and select the next mission and the money already saved.

you can, but I would move to the next checkpoint first to be safe, not sure if it saves otherwise

Yep, but you have to reach the next checkpoint after you get the money; just checked. If you quit, it'll save your checkpoint and throw you right back into the mission select screen in the main menu NOT in the board in-game. To access the upgrades just select any mission that takes place in the cabin area/hub area and you'll keep your upgrades and money you've gotten from the most recent mission, don't mind the "this will overwrite the progress from your last mission" warning, it'll save the money acquired as a sort of universal progression; pretty freaking cool.

It's a bug. If you want the upgrades and perks just start a new save file and it should be fine.

The Cradle mission gives you $510 per run, if you do it on recruit you should be able to run it quickly over and over.

This game is bugged to hell. It wouldn't let me complete the Scud level because the guy at the base was just a rucksack in the ground and I couldn't interact with it. Now I'm stuck on MINUS 1,748,047,224. It's insane, I can't do a thing no matter how much money I pick up.

Easiest way to do it is to just go to the safe make sure it auto saves after then back out to the next mission instead of doing it all over again it’ll save you time I just tried it.

Just go to mission select and select the missions that you need to do so you don’t have to complete the whole campaign again
