Mojave Ghost is the only perfume with ambergris that I've liked. Have decants of 3 of their perfumes and totally agree they are so unique and smooth.

I tested Bal d’afrique on paper at a store and it just disappeared after a few minutes but I love the scent. I tried Gypsy water, Mojave and Blanche (because of your recommendation). They are all easy scents to me. But never bought any because of the thing I’ve heard about longevity. I love the bottles though.

I have Santal Glow and i would recommend it as a dupe for Mojave ghost , they are pretty identical !! 👌🏼 I have Bal d‘afrique too, it’s my second favorite after Mojave ghost. I love most fragrances that I’ve tried from byredo, they are unique and good quality to me 🥰

Kristen Ess Translucence One supposed to be a dupe for Mohave Ghost sold at Target (from RositaApplebum 2021 perfume collection video). The Zara one is Santal Glow (thumbs down from Delicious Delights) & Rosy Mousseline - mixed reviews.

Well, I fall in the side that LOVES Pulp. In fact I think its a masterpiece. A very artsy scent that manages to be wearable. And its in that wearabilty assessment where it is polarizing. I understand why its polarizing. But I regard the tart, concentrated sweetness of Pulp's fruit as OVER-RIPE, NOT rotten. There is a huge difference to me. I was initially worried that it would pass the artistic test but fail the wearability test. But nope. Its very wearable to me. Very tart and pleasant. The only other fragrance that comes to mind that has a similar over-ripe fruit quality is tge classic vintage 1973 Dior Diorella. Pulp is currently tied with Bal d'Afrique in my collection as best from Byredo. Have full bottles of both. I agree on Bal d'Afrique. Absolutely beautiful. I delayed buying a full bottle for a year because although it is significantly unisex, it does lean a tad feminine. But just a tad, and in the end I just decided the scent profile is too beautiful too ignore. I think Gypsy Water is way overrated. What a weak fragrance. Not just the excessively weak performance, but the scent profile itself. MAYBE I would reevaluate the scent profile if the performance were at least moderate, but I'll never have that chance. I just had my second wearing of it, with at least 15 sprays on skin and clothing, and I could only smell anything with my nose when touching my wrist at points of application. Someone wrote "boring lemon sponge cake" in a review, and I do get a slight lemon sponge cake vibe but so, so faint, even with direct skin sniffing. No full bottle for me. I have decants of ither Byredo scent coming to test.

Such an interesting comment to read, thank you for sharing with me! I tried Pulp again a few months ago in the store to see if my opinions had shifted and it was just as rancid to my nose as ever. I fear I will never be able to love Pulp! Gypsy water however has shifted for me into a full blown LOVE … the lasting power and sillage are horrid but I just have really fallen for the scent

I have a couple of Byredo fragrances in my collection. My favorite is Sundaze and Pulp. I do have Bal d’Afrique and enjoy that as well but I like the trio box of 0.4oz so that I can just have it in my purse. I wish Sundaze and Pulp comes in the smaller bottles as well but they don’t so I have full bottles of those. Only thing is they don’t lasts long on me which for the price is really disappointing.

Thank you for these reflections. This was a helpful video for learning a little bit about a few fragrances from Byredo. It was darn slow going at times. This could have worked a bit better as like a 4 min video. I do really appreciate your lovely french pronunciations tho Also, the reaction to Pulp was pretty funny.

@@MZ4life yes, of course. It is just a matter of taste. Sorry if I came off as blunt before. I think you have an appealing image and good insights about fragrance, however the informative content only took up about a quarter of the play-time. As someone watching more for information than to be entertained, I felt like there was a little too much time spent sort of thinking put loud about how you acquired this and that fragrance, etc. A bit more focus and tighter editing would make your video more helpful for someone like me. That's all. Also, I love the name of your channel. Best wishes.

I have Bal d'Afrique, Blanche, and Gypsy Water. Bal d'Afrique is heaven! I also love Blanche however, Blanche doesn't love me. It's not compatible to my body chem. Gypsy Water is quite disappointing, I don't know but I can't smell it on me everytime I spray it on my body or clothes.

My number 1 is Accord Oud. Second place BdA. They are the only FB worthy from Byredo imo. How can you rotate so many FBs ? My max number of FBs is 20. That's hard enough for rotation. (I do have many samples of other scents, which are also included in the rotation, every once in a while).

@@MZ4life FB = Full Bottle. My point is you need very little FBs, complimenting it with a few decants and heaps of samples, depending on the usage. My entire collection fits on one small shelf, but I have dozens of scents at my disposal.

@@zvikaso ah I see, I agree you don’t need much fragrance bottles… one could argue you don’t NEED any. They are a luxury and they are what I personally choose to collect but it’s not for everyone and I know that. It’s just what I choose for me!

Find Blanche horrid! It is exactly like powdered laundry soap in the box. Open up the box, take a sniff, and that piercing, make you sneeze smell is Blanche. Can't understand how anyone would wear it. Awful!
