Hello sweetheart. The fact that little man and Ju ju like using the machine is enough for me. And I laughed at the leg warmer thing. I would need to join your leg warmer club. A scarf would be lovely in a really fine thread then it would be lightweight and decorative and still warm enough. I am making the Bakery Bears 'crescent Cowl' on a circular needle. It is the first time I have used one and couldn't get going at first. But now I am loving it and it is the first time I have been able to knit without very painful hands 👍👍. So sometimes we have to try something new. So glad you are loving your new experience because we should not let ourselves stagnate. And it is not to the detriment of our other accomplishments. Have fun with everything. Good motto for life really. With All my love Your Cinnamon bun , Lynne xxx (Auto correct came up with Cinnamon bunny, I had a little chuckle 😅😅🐇

Hey Jennifer!! Been watching for several months now. I am glad you got the Addi. I love mine. I am a school bus 🚌 driver. And I have about 60 elementary kids in my bus. So before Christmas break 2022 I made hats!!! I bought the $1.25 skeins from DT and I skein made a hat for each kid… they loved them and are still wearing them!! Good luck!!

Hi Jen, I bought my Addi during the pandemic and since then produced hundreds of hats for charity (homeless and children in Romania). I also crochet and hand knit baby blankets all year. Ignore the negative people, they suck and will criticize and bad breath anything and everybody. Thank you for all you do for the yarn community.

My husband has a 3D printer and he printed a tensioner for both of my Addi knitting machines. Those tensioners make a huge difference which makes knitting on the machines even easier. He also bought me a small electric drill so that when my arms get tired I can use that but it doesn't go super fast so I don't have to worry about breaking the machine.

I hand knit, and crochet, and have for many years. I am also the proud owner of the addis and the sentros, all sizes. If some think it's cheating, that is, of course, their prerogative. But it's like saying using a sewing machine to create garments is Cheating....should everything be hand-sewn then? Of course not!! Thanks Jenn.......

I'm fairly knew to crochet/knitting so I'm slow, slow, slow. I can see that getting one of these machines will enable me to get so many more twiddlemuffs made than if I just keep doing them by hand. Now to start saving up to buy one. It's going to be well worth the wait and cost. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and experience with the addi. I hope you continue to enjoy your new machine.

Jennifer, there may be a BAZIILLION videos out there but not YOUR video! Yours will still be unique and some people will relate better to you. So don't let that bazillion prevent you from making one ... if you want to. One tip I would give you is to do a couple of more rows of your waste yarn. If it begins to unravel like one end of yours looks like it did after it got hung up on the needles, it might go to far and cause it to release from your stitches. More is better. lol I don't know if you've seen this trick but when making hats, sometimes you'll notice the end stretches out into a bell shape. If you will grab the hat, securely, and WHACK the end of it on a hard surface a couple of times, it will straighten out. (Good way to get out your frustrations too) LOL! You're doing great and have learned a lot in a short time. I would also suggest trying the drill and attachment. I use mine once I have a few rows started and it works great. It saves a lot of time and the tension comes out great with just your normal gliding the yarn with your hand. Have fun!

Thanks for sharing. I just purchased the small & large Addi machines. I think I found a good deal on them. I had many of the same thoughts as you did before deciding to buy them. In fact, I wanted them for years, but couldn't justify the cost and space until recently. I had looked at reviews on all the circular knitting machines and they weren't good (at the time). I tried finding the high quality made from steel ones and found them way too costly for my needs. My craft room is overloaded and I'm now invading other rooms in my home, which makes me very unhappy. People gave me large quantities of yarns and now I am overwhelmed. I'm now spinning my own yarn and just don't need or want most of the store yarns; however, I don't want to get rid of them either. Then I took note that people knit hats for charity. My husband runs a Food Bank and there is a local center near us to help save babies. That was my justification for buying these machines. I found many KZbin tutorials that help with the learning curve. Since watching them, I haven't found the poor reviews as I had before. Within the last few days, I've made my first 6-7 pairs of socks on the small and 7 hats on the large. Yes, I have problems with certain yarns, drop stitches, double stitches and so forth, but I'm learning what's causing them and what to look for. I have a long 1952 knitting machine and a "As Seen on TV" from the 1990s. I've made many tops with them, but the machines aren't easily accessible. The problems are no different. I hand knitted my whole life. Drop stitches and other mistakes occur. That's just how it is. I'm now using up the excess yarn speedily, will help other people and still can enjoy doing my other many projects in between. I feel it's a win, win, win. So far, I'm very happy with these two Addis. Thankfully some of the tutorials went over some issues or problems that I also had. I saw them first so I didn't panic.

Hi I have the small and large machines but I don’t use them enough 😂 You have inspired me to start using them again 😊 I want to make some preemie hats to donate to the hospital with the smaller one. I like the table your husband made I use one of those wood little barstools that I got from Walmart for the larger one I turn it upside down and attach the machine to the bottom and then I can put my feet on the part, you sit on and hold it in place while I crank the machine. 😂🤷🏻‍♀️ It works 😂 I know you really don’t want to, but if sometime you could show how to finish their hats at the top by hand knitting, I would like to see that 😊

I'm a handknitter and crocheter, and wanted a way to churn out some gifts and donations. I bought the Sentro 2 months ago, made a couple hats. At first I was frustrated and aggravated about the dropped/tucked stitched, but I found a yarn that worked (Big Twist) and figured i could always use Caron Simply Soft since everyone said how well it works on Sentro. So, last few days I've been trying EVERYTHING to get this thing to work! I thought maybe it was static, I've tried dryer sheets, thread magic, misting with water - it just drops or tucks stitches no matter what. I even bought Simply Soft, and that was a screaming wreck!! So. I ordered an Addi. Now to figure out why this Sentro isnt working so i can pass it on to someone who has more patience! I really liked the Sentro when i first got it, if anyone has any thoughts on how to sort it out, I'd love to know! (Im thinking of opening it up and seeing if a good lubricant might help.)

It's not cheating & your hand finish is beautiful. I got both sizes in a special deal about 5 years ago, came from Germany. Now I see they have an egg to investigate. I'm 71 now, also working on my health. I'm doing the carnivore diet, lost 12#'s so far in less than a month of easing into it. Hope to lose 60 more. Just got my addi out again to work during winter months for gifts. So many sweater projects to do that I bought when I knew I was moving to snow country. Still have to finish my first sweater I started before my move almost done, but think I may have to get some lessons & help to get my mind going again. I'd hate to mess it up at this point. Addi is so inspiring because you get a result so fast.

I don’t know if this suggestion has been made yet. I noticed you are having problems with your arm hurting while cranking I also have the same problem. I have found that if you stop for about 15 minutes when the pain starts if you do a few slow rotations of the shoulder for the count of 10 will relax the arm. Then you will be able to start cranking again. If it continue to hurt rest and rotate your arm again it actually will enable you to continue cranking without pain. Former Physical therapy patient.

They are have a deal over esty for 293.65 for the bug one and little a set together. But I just bought my jamit and I love it after many broken gears of the sentro 48 lol. The jamit can handle the big red brand so well. I just loved love it.

I'm wearing a sweater I made for myself when I first got my addi. About 4 years ago... I actually wore it to bed...very comfy. I love my addi...I'm actually thinking about getting another one...I've used my other so much I'm surprised it still works at all

I would love to have that machine but it is pricey. I’m glad you did a video on it in real time. Thank you. I don’t think it’s cheating at all. It’s just a different way to craft. Maybe one day I can get one. 🥰

I am a knitter and crocheter but love using my knitting machines for using up stash. I have made hats, cowls and a blanket. I have the Addi and 2 Sentros. I have a screwdriver attachment for one of my Sentros and an Aibilenger(sp) for the other which allows them to be motorized. The Addi was too expensive for me to potentially damage, so I haven't tried changing it. Lol!

Thanks for showing your Addition to us. I've been researching them too.need to do some overtime, and have a few more birthdays before I can justify. Maybe if I told hubby I would use up yarn faster, he may be all in. Just kidding, he's very supportive, just too much for us at this time. Great episode ,Jennifer. Thanks for sharing.

I love your video. Thanks for sharing. I do have a Sentro and love it as long as I do not use a drill on it. the drill made it go to fast and ruined it. Thankfully, Sentro replaced it, even though it was my doing. So I now use it to make hats for donation and I do the cranking. But I do love having the knitting machine. I do not knit and so it was nice to have it to knit with. I am a full time crocheter. I also have the small Addi. I have made baby hats on it but nothing else as of yet. I will have to try headbands. Again, loved the video and I think you do a great job on your channel. I love watching you.

Hi ☺️👋 awesome machine 😄 so many possibilities 😁 but for me with the shipping is totally out of my league if i lived in the USA i know i would have it to make donations for the homeless and shelters here it's too warm for hats even in winter!!! amazing invention!!who came up with this idea? I remember my cousin having in the 70 one standing that you moved back and front like left to right she made sweaters !! for her children 😁

I have the centro one bc the cost was way better. I didn't know, like you said, if I would use it or have it sit in the closet. I love it for the double knit hats and recently I've been doing the flat panels and then sewing them together as a cardi...then the tube/hat can be a fast sleeve or a small flat panel can be sewn into a sleeve. I like experimenting with which yarns and weights work best. Some definitely take longer to prevent dropped stitches. Lol Thanks for sharing! I'd love to do a craft show one day but feel a little intimidated. 🤷🏻‍♀️🙃

Hey Jen, so glad you made this video. I watch you every afternoon when I get home from work and thoroughly enjoy spending the afternoon with you. I have to admit, I've never actually given any thought to getting a knitting machine but, after watching this video, the one thing I know for sure is that I need to get a Mr. Cinnamon. LOL...Many thanks and much love from Washington State, Tami

Hi Jen, I love my knitting machine. I have 2 sizes of the Centro. I make amigarumi, draft dodgers, hats, sweaters, tunics, earwarmers etc.. as you said the possibilities are endless. Yes practice, practice. It does bring out a lot of serene, peaceful time. I still crochet of course. But, thie machine is a nice little break from the hand work too. Thanks for sharing what this process does for you. Love the table Mr. Cinnamon made. 😍😍
