👏👏👏👏👏YES!!!!! Thank you so so much for this!!!! I have been looking everywhere for a cardigan tutorial for the sentro. The ones I'm finding are too "girly" or short or just not what I'm looking for. I wanted just a basic cardigan like this. It's SO perfect. SO SO Well explained. Especially the ribbing. The techniques you use are wonderful. I love how you did the arms. I made a sweater and my issue was with the sleeves being the same width all the way around and well, getting older I"ve got the arm jiggle going on. I am super grateful for this video. My only only question, is there a way to add front pockets? I wish I could post a pic. Nothing fancy, just one small pocket on the front of the left and right sides straight across. Think Kurt Cobain's famous cardigan 😉
@StephanieBCreativity11 ай бұрын
Oh thank you. Yes, that was my goal with the sleeves. Wider toward the shoulder and narrower at the ribbed cuffs. I would think making a pocket with a knitted tube done on the smaller 22 needle knitting machine then flattened and the open ends neatly crochet stitched closed, hand sewn on in position would work. I haven’t tried making pockets yet though- so it would be an experiment.

@AngelaMBell-o4k11 ай бұрын
What size of sweater did that make? How would you make it bigger if need be?
@StephanieBCreativity11 ай бұрын
I am size 12 and the sweater I made would be a 12/14 size or size large. To make it bigger I would add length and depending on how much larger I would add a panel In the back and add 2 narrower extra panels on the front right and left that equals the width of the extra back panel. Or add the extra narrow panels under the arm at the side seams. But then the sleeves would need to be adjusted too. I may need to do a video on how I would do exactly that. I may need to find a friend who wears a larger size so I can get measurements to transfer to a new cardigan.

I’m a little confused with the red “marking line” to do the last ribbing. Won’t the whole thing unravel once that is pulled out or am I overthinking it?
@StephanieBCreativity10 ай бұрын
The marking line gives you a target to let the stitches out to. They won’t fall out you have to actually pull them out. Relax , breathe and do a practice piece- just cast on a small panel. Work a few rows and then do the cast on edge ribbing. Then work 20 rows place the life line then knit 8-10 rows and then do the ribbing. You will see how it all works and then you’ll be ready to do the big panels for the sweater. You’ll be great!
@jenniferdieman323310 ай бұрын
Sorry, I’m asking how do you remove the red marking line once the piece is finished? Since it’s in the middle of your work won’t it create live stitches when you remove it?
@StephanieBCreativity10 ай бұрын
@@jenniferdieman3233 great question, since it is marking just one round it is easy to just pull it out. - since it Is worked with the working yarn it is not going to lose any stitches when you pull it out. You can remove it anytime after doing the ribbing.
@Kera.S.10 ай бұрын
When you pull the red yarn marking line out it won't unravel the project because you only went across in 1 direction 1 time correct? But if you had gone a full round of back and forth and then pulled it out It would cause it to unravel, am I understanding this correctly? Thank you for your time.
@StephanieBCreativity10 ай бұрын
@@Kera.S. yes, and it was held with the working yarn for that one row. So pulling it out won’t change the integrity of the knitted fabric.
