Awesome video, I have small and medium sized celosia with the light green leaves. I was wondering when I was supposed to deadhead. Also, if you're planting outside of a pot, they do much better along the edges of the flower beds, like near your foundation, or a concrete barrier along the front side of the flowerbeds. Thanks for the educational and extremely concise explanation of these amazing plants!!!

I bought this flower and it’s yellow from Lowe’s. The tag says it is not for human or animal consumption. You mentioned that it is edible. I asked an associate in Lowe’s and he said no they cannot be eaten. I’m confuse. I have gotten two different answers.

Just don’t eat them. 🥴 The edible ones are probably a special variety not sold by Lowe’s (I’m sure you can find them online). Home Depot and Lowe’s employees tend to not know much about gardening, imo.

I always love to find new things I can feed my family from the garden. I have a question, I live in canada and I know these guys don't like cold, I have them out in my green house but the other night the heaters were not working and I lots a lot of my plants because it got to -3c. Some of my celosia survived but most look dead, but as I was looking closer I noticed the roots where still very strong and there was still color on the steam about a mm or couple mm above the soil, do you think they have a chance to come back? and if so should I cut the dead parts off or leave them? I have the fresh green dwarf ones and they are mostly a couple inches tall with some true leaves. thank you!

You left out some main points people come here to get answers about. So stores sale this. I don't care about its family it's from or if it's edible. It's sold as an ornamental to look nice. Need more info than just "it don't like wet feet and needs full sun". How do you water? How often? How do u know when it needs dead headed? I get u said about every 4 weeks but when to initially do it? Soil kept damp? I'm left with more questions than answers. Could you perhaps make another video? Thx

wait till soil is dry then water, don't water if it still wet and don't keep it continually wet (wet feet).

Can you please elaborate on what zone/zones are appropriate for full sun. SW Florida between 9B & 10A have very intense full sun (next level) & high humidity. What are optimal temperatures & humidity levels? Thank you for great video😁

I’m in hot and humid weather in Texas. I’m a new gardener. I bought packet seeds from Dollar Tree. I planted in pots and ground. They did much better in pots. The pots were not in full sun. They did amazing. I don’t water much.

Will comes back by seeds and plentiful. In fall let blumes dry on the plant then shake vigorously. They will come back on their own.

Try planting them near the edge of your flower beds, or near the foundation of your home. The roots like to have something to grab onto, I assume because solid surfaces drain better. I have them in pots, as well as my flower beds. I noticed the potted plants that drained well have flourished almost almost uncontrollably, as well as the flowers I planted nearest the edges. Whereas the celosia I planted in the middle of the flower beds struggled or outright died.

@@kevinivey4471 ok, I must be overwatering mine. Thanks for the tips. Mine are in pots - I literally *just* planted them and they already look crappy. I think I’ll poke more holes in the filter fabric so they’ll drain better and I’m gonna have to break down and buy more plant stands so they’re off the ground. Did I mention *I BOUGHT WAY TOO MANY PLANTS????* 🌱🪴 😆🙄🤣
