I have a question, where do you buy your foam? I have a car needs serious upholstery work. Thanks for the video, super good info and nice and short like my attention span! Thank you!

too many kinds of house furniture use foam for me to follow. im going to attempt to reupholster the seat going in a 1951 resto-mod chevy truck project. the seat i have is an original out of a 1963 chevy II Nova and it is a split back bench seat ,fairly flat, aged hard black vinyl, the substructure is the old springs (which i might want to re-use) with what appears to be burlap or a jute material over the top, the padding is a batting , a little broken down on the drivers side seat and back from frequent use and entry/exit of course . i want to re-cover it with a more vintage looking low tuck and roll /bucket bench appearance in tweed and vinyl. what thickness and firmness foam would you use to replace the original padding .Base and top ,and outer bolster areas . I dont want an extreme hard or soft but somewhere in the middle to where its soft but supportive where you feel like it holds you in, if that makes any sense. Thank you for making your videos.

Thanks for watching. Auto seat foam is different from furniture foam. You might find info on an auto forum .

What glue can you use to glue them together? Is Elmers glue or wood glue is good?
@thedrunkenupholsterer60803 жыл бұрын
You would need foam adhesive glue. It comes in spray cans which I use or liquid, which you have to use a brush. Thanks for watching.
