I don't understand why people would need a IDL, I've never heard anybody saying one needs this to drive in another country. I even looked at what it takes to drive in Russia for a foreigner and it only says you need your license from your country to drive in the first 6 months and after that, one needs to exchange their license for a russian license if staying for a long time.

Sorry you are mistaken. If you are travelling to any country (out of Europe) which doesn’t speak English you will need IDL. Main purpose of the IDL is to have legally translated document which is needed when for example if you hit someone. Don’t tell me people from UK don’t have accidents 😄 So yes, You need it. Cheers.

Whatever is your classification on the license will be reflected to your IDL. Consider IDL is just a translation of your current license.

A) IDL should be carried with ur original license if not it’s invalid, So ur category can be seen. B) Getting a new license is india is fresh process like for all nothing to do with IDL or uae license. It will not add any value as left hand drive and right hand drive differences.

I went for holidays in the Gambian and got my gambian license, however, I asked the authorities in the gambia they said I can only apply for the international drivers license to be able to drive in Italy but then a friend td me there is nothing like international driving license but an idl. Hi there. IDP is considered a valid document only along with the original driver's licence. You need to carry both. If the police stops you he will ask for both to validate.

I suggest you don’t worry so much just ask any law officer in Italy and clear your doubts. Also please share you experience here. As I mentioned in the video do your research before travelling to any country don’t reply on social media or word of mouth alone. Ask people who have done it.

To successfully pass UAE drivers license test you need to study the rules well and watch& learn how other drivers are driving. The test is difficult but if you follow all rules and drive professionally you will get it the first time itself. All the best.

Usually you need to have the drivers license of that country not IDL to get a job. Cause you might fail in the driving test in that country. So I doubt if company will accept.

You have to always carry your local original license along with your IDL without it it’s not valid. IDL is just a paper with translation and has unique number in it. The number is internationally valid and will lead to your local license.

If you already have a IDL based on ur DL where you reside then yes you can drive in India based on it. Note that u cannot drive a 2 wheeler if you have a 4 wheeler IDL and vice versa.
