A MESSAGE FROM DOCUMENTARY TELEVISION Hey guys thanks for watching the videos, to those of you who watch every video, double thanks. You all should know that it's my intention to film every dog breed. The order in which I film them is truly dependent on a lot of different factors, some of which are out of my control. I am a single person producing the content for this channel, so if I don't get to your request immediately, its not that your being ignored. Its a monumental task I'm taking on, please be patient and enjoy the videos as they come. Thanks!

I watched this before getting my boxer, and now watching again after having my first boxer for 10mo now. They are the best dogs! I grew up with different dogs, and I am completely sold on boxers! We have what we like to call a perfect dog. He is fun, energetic, positive, happy, smart, goofy, loyal, will lay down and chill when we want him to, and is the best family dog. He has definitely made himself part of the family. I know that their life expectancy is shorter than other dogs, but we intend to have a great time with him for as long as God gives him life with us. Great video. Oh, and yes, she didn’t mention the gas! Lol. It’s actually a good thing because I can blame all of my gas on him and he can’t say otherwise (unlike my boys), 😂😂😂

I've always been a german shepherd girl. The last one I had lived to be fifteen years old. Now, the man that I'm now married to was emphatic about getting boxers. When he was a young teen, he bred and showed them and said, I wouldn't be disappointed. Anyway, we got our two Boxers 13 years ago. We decided to get the two because they would chew on each other, instead of the furniture 😬. Since we're NASCAR fans I named them Talla and Dega. Let me tell you, they became my heart and soul. My Dega was my best friend and shadow. I don't think I ever went to the bathroom alone once he decided that I was his person 😆. Talla was aloof and did her own thing. Let me give a little advice to anyone looking to get two pups. Getting them from the same litter isn't advisable. When they're ready to cross the Rainbow Bridge, they'll most likely go together. After 13yrs of the best years I've ever known, my Dega passed away in his sleep. Our Talla followed him five weeks later. The heartbreak was too much to bare 😢. Our veterinarian told me that we must have done something right for both of them to have lived as long as they did. My husband was concerned about the depression I was in, so he insisted we get another. I felt it was too soon and I was betraying their memory. We picked up our little Finnster, and though it was a little hard to warm up to him (I couldn't help comparing him to Deg), BOOM💥, like a shot to the face, the little shit wriggled his little ass right into my heart! The best thing about the Boxer breed is, with the exception of a few quirks, basically they have the same personality. At least that's what I've seen. Oh, and to address their gas. I'm ready to set fire to my nostrils. I'm ready to design a holster for two Fabreeze cans!!! 🤣🤣🤣. They are everything and more. Finn is 6 months old now and sometimes a handful, but I wouldn't trade him for the world. And yes, once you've had a Boxer, you'll always have Boxers... Gass and all 😷🤣
@poffstarr5897 Жыл бұрын
@@TammyLynn2466 right! Boxers are the best!!! What food do you have them on, I find that some foods make my dog less gassy than others do. If it’s in your budget try Stella and Chewys or Open Farms. They’re a bit pricey but read the feeding guide a lot of the times you end up feeding them less because the food is higher in calories and protein. I also try to stay away from Chicken

She adores us as we adored her. She was sweet and loyal and yes of course she would box with us. Leavings us with big scratches. I look at my scars now and i just smile. Remembering all the joy she brought my family and I. She just passed a month after my chihuahua who by the way was uncharacteristically unlike a chihuahua. She was sweet and wouldnt hurt a fly. I agree I'm a Boxer Lover. My brother had a few and I really liked them. My husband and I were looking at different breeds it took a few years to agree on a breed. Boxer was what we decided on. I spent next few years doing research on the breed that way I'd be ready when I found my dog. I found some pups for sale finally and knew we wanted a girl. So I took my boys and went to see them. I was looking at the runt which was a brindle was what we wanted as well. My boys got in the pen with the pups ( there were about 6-7 girls), and they were going crazy. They were barking pulling clothes and shoe strings. The biggest girl that I didn't want because she would be so large decided she didn't want anything to do with that. She climbed out of the pen and into my lap and fell asleep. It was perfect, I decided she was the one right then. So I put my deposit down for her, then few wks later we picked her up. She was 8 wks when we got her. By the time she was 9 wks she was house trained. She was the best dog ever.. She was with me always, this April it will be a year that she passed. I miss her greatly. We treated her like she was our daughter. I would love to have another one eventually, I do miss having that sweetness with me. Thank you for the video makes my heart happy to see the babies playing so happily.

He slept next to my bed, on the couch with me, and followed me room to room. He protected me and my home when my neighbor went off of his meds and was stalking me. He and my doxie went everywhere with me. You can imagine the boxer sized hole he left in my heart when he passed away. It's been seven years and I still catch myself looking over the edge of my bed expecting to see him laying there. RIP Rocky💜 you were the best friend a girl could ever have.

Excellent video! My very first dog was a boxer (Logic). I was firmly against crating as well, but after a year I had to come back to reality. 😆 I first tried a collapsible crate, but after breaking out several times I returned it and got the big plastic crate. He was the master escape artist, even when I took him to visit other dog owners he would escape from 'pens' they kep their dogs in. I trained Logic to stay out of the kitchen and to not pull on the leash while a puppy so I never had any issues (but I rarely had him on leash, even near heavy traffic). I learned early on that there was a strong, direct correlation with his 'misbehavior' and the amount of outdoor activity he had. The times I hadn't taken him to the park and thrown a tennis ball for 30-45 minutes he would tear up some of my favorite items. Even if it was a quick walk a few times a week it helped TREMENDOUSLY. Logic was super friendly and wouldn't even get antsy if other dogs became aggressive. He used to bounce like a deer when he was a teen and he would just playfully hop away as they chased him because he knew he was much faster than them.

It always makes me happy to hear about boxers who live to a ripe old age. Mine have never lived past 10.5, and they are a short-lived breed generally. Mine all passed from cancer or heart problems, both of which boxers are EXTREMELY prone to. That being said, I will always have one. I will probably adopt adults for the future, though. My boxer that passed last year was more than a pet, he was my first child really. I still cry and miss him. We were very bonded and he was so in tuned with me that we could communicate solely with our eyes and facial expressions. For the 8 years I had him I never needed to take my depression medication. He was a magical soul.

We have a boxer named Drako who is 6 years old. We have had him since he was 5 months old. Everything that was said in the video about "living with a boxer" is the complete opposite of what our boxer is. His personally has not changed since he was 5 months. He DOES NOT bark (unless you are very actively playing with him). He does like to play but he gets bored with it fast and will go have a nap lol.He sleeps till 10am. No early morning wake up calls from him for pees. He only eats when he is hungry and will stops when he is full. Doesnt like to play fetch with a ball. He is very happy just laying on his bed with peanut butter in a kong. He only wants to go for walks when he wants to. if you take him and he doesn't want to go he will just stand there. he can be left alone with no problems at all ( he will just sleep on the couch) he loves kids and never jumps or anything- will just stand there and let everyone pet him. i could go on and on....lol. He is an awesome dog!! He does go everywhere with us. we plan our vacations around him so he can always come with us. He is a very good traveller. he has never gotten car sick-he just sleeps. We love him so much- we have been totally spoiled with having him as our dog and for that we spoil him!!!!

She'll give a couple of 'woof's' out in the yard if she see's someone but won't bark in the house. Drako sounds great. Always happy to hear from a Boxer owner that loves their pet like we do :)

Grew up with several breeds of dogs from Terriers to Sheppard's to Labs but got my first Boxer 25 years ago and was absolutely hooked. Smart, loyal, strong and best of all they have the most character of any dog I've ever seen. The males are the clowns of the house and the females are the queens. And they never loose the sparkle in their eye that a puppy has. The only major drawback...they don't live long enough....I suppose none of our dogs do. Don't get me wrong any dog is a hero but Boxers are special.

Todd Johnson: Sadly, dogs are suffering from TOO MANY VACCINATIONS...just like humans. They never got cancer and all these weird diseases(even pancreatitis)...UNTIL...their list of vaccines became ludicrous. Holistic vets AGREE that dogs do NOT need an annual rabies shot. Think of how many rabies shots they receive in a lifetime. I hate vaccines. Sorry for the rant, but people need to research this.

@@valeriegriner5644 that's actually untrue. I've grown up with my parents breeding boxers, I have come across many older dogs who weren't vaccinated or given any meds. They still got cancer or still got ill. So please do not spread misinformation

@@shootfirst2097 You're obviously not that smart to say that or you have never owned a boxer!!!! Boxers are VERY intelligent, sometimes they are too smart. I have owned many different breeds and I now have 4 Boxers and they are the smartest by far. They have the most amazing personalities as well and they are goofy. . I had to put down my 10 year old boxer 2 weeks ago going into 3 weeks. He loved everyone once he got an opportunity to meet them. He loved to play with my other two small dogs and treated them with such care knowing he was so much bigger than them. The memories he gave me will never be forgotten. I can never replace him but I’ll be getting another one this week. I just can’t not live with one after having one for so long.

@Mike had to been a joke.
@ln21825 жыл бұрын
@Mike Do I seem like the type to joke around? lol. Been there done that, never gonna let myself near boxers again, they suck. Dick and basically are unpredictable like dalmations are. Maltipoos are so much better and smarter. Just a proven fact, look it up lol. intelligence of a boxer is like, rated 2 out of 5 which is being extremely nice to the breed lmfao. considering most 90% of all boxers are just dumb as shit and stubborn as hell, which is their personality, BUT some people like that which is laughable. Guess dumb people like dumb things, isn't hard to figure out. Maltipoos are 5 out of 5 intelligence, and super easy to train. I myself never had a boxer of my own, never going to lol. They all have a certain smelly fishy smell to them and it's not pleasant. And they all do the infamous boxer wiggle which a lot of dumb people love but it just looks like a clown that wants to mate with me, shoving its butt to my body and wiggling as an invitation. No thanks, gross. My roommate had one though, hence HAD. He gave it away of course. For free of course, since no one's gonna want to pay for that piece of shit lol. Always do research about your dog breed before you buy them. Not everyone is suitable for dogs of any kind, definitely not me. I just can't stand stupid and fishy smells, shedding, wiggle mating dances, selfish unloyal dogs who only think about themselves, etc etc. Because that's how most boxers are. I highly commend owners who have well behaved boxers though, because that is a true rarity and always takes way too much of training time to achieve, so good for them. But if you're ognna have a boxer and be lazy and not give it training everyday as a puppy, and neglect it and not walk it every day then a shitty boxer is what you're gonna get. I don't walk my maltipoo every single day, because he's small anyways. He gets enough exercise in my backyard with fetch, and he's super active. well, and plus he's a maltipoo. You don't need ot walk them as much as shitty high maintenance dogs like boxers lol. But of course, training is a must with ALL dogs.

We also got our first Boxer (Katrina) from a backyard/show breeder (we lied about wanting to show her). We had a somewhat similar situation when we went back to the breeders house to bring her home. The 'Mom' (Aiko) and 'Dad' (Mitch) were also on premises. The Mom and Dad were out in the yard with all the pups. The pup we were getting (Katrina) walked right up to her 'Dad' and bit him right on his "privates"! He jumped straight up in the air! He was perfectly calm with his little daughter and just gave her a sniff and they all continued to play. I could see that his temperament was good and had a lot of patience and that the little girl I was bringing home would be extremely confident. She turned out to be very much so. She turned out to be quite the 'Bully'. Very dominant with other dogs. She was also 80 pounds of pure muscle. And if you know Boxers, you know that is VERY big for a female Boxer. We also took home a very sweet 'deaf' White Boxer (Helga) that day. She followed and took after her sister. She was not as confident, but so good and so amazingly sweet. Very easy to train. I miss them both SOOOO MUCH! OTRB. . .

I have a 3 yr old boxer boy 104 lbs extremely large he started problem solving at 7 weeks we got him because mom stopped nursing. I had put empty big boxes in front of the doorway to block the kitchen the breeder said to do that well...he walked up to it pit his paw out and pushed omg. He pushed pillows and a blanket down from the couch so he could jump down. He somehow knows what time to wake me up every morning 8am and also at 5pm to give my husband his insulin, he has so much personality that it's crazy. He will argue his point. But he's anti social period he loves me and puts up with him but no other people dogs anything. Exceptionally great dog

For the first couple months of my sons life she wouldn’t get any sleep and was losing hair bc she was always worried about him. She has amazing temperament and I can leave her in the backyard with my 4 year old and she’ll literally sit there on high alert looking for any threat. She even caught me a possum once and let it go on command. She is truly a blessing!

I would like it to be noted that every boxer is different from one another. And you can not say what one does another will do. Batman is my baby had him for six years and he is a sweet heart. He doesn't try to do a lot of the things you are saying that boxers do. In fact he is a lap dog, will sit with you for hours and just be happy to lay around with you. He actually doesn't bark and no his cords have not been cut. He just doesn't like to. He would be more willing to be petted by a robber than be on attack. And as far as his home goes. He makes his home where ever I am. Won't leave my side even when I put the leash down. I stop he stops I go he goes. He is my boxer baby, who sleeps with his head on a pillow next to me cause he wants to know I am okay. He is a sweet heart and I love him to death. He is also my PTSD service dog.

You are blessed...sounds like a great companion dog. My long-haired mini dachshund sleeps on a pillow, too, and she refuses to sleep anywhere else on the bed(lol). Since this lady breeds dogs for SHOW...she has to keep them slim, trim, exercised and alert. That doesn't mean that you can't enjoy a sweet "couch potato" dog.

My boxer is almost 10 and has never been a barker either. She has very low aggression, I can’t see her defending the home against a robber. It’s a good thing our other dog will howl to alert us of danger.
