I think one of my favorite thing is how many characters end up doing something unique with thier movesets. They did this a little bit with HW1, but it feels like almost every character gets something truly their own in this game. I'm so glad to see such thing continues unbroken with Mipha, and I look forward to seeing how the others change it up.

She plays FAST with no gimmicks and you can cancel dodge out of all her slower animations. Couple that with her special attacks + bomb rune and Zvarri! you get a lightning fast force of nature to be reckoned with, especially if you have attack speed/special gauge speed runes going on. And to top all that she can heal herself and nearby allies just as fast. She may not be the best character, but she definitely is the BEST character.

Mipha's fountains actually heal her, too, as long as she's standing within the ring of light surrounding them. You can also heal by using her full unique action combo. She's also able to force out and demolish weak points in one go when grounded which, in tandem with her aerial prowess, makes her one of the most powerful and versatile characters in-game.

(Copy and pasted comment) One thing that makes Mipha a really good fighter is her Flurry Rush. If you manage to apply her water ball attack onto an enemy, and then successfully Flurry Rush, that water ball will still attack the enemy's weak gauge! (It's also really satisfying if you manage to set up with the bomb rune beforehand) Another small detail you forgot to mention about Mipha's Stasis ability is that, even when dodge-cancelled, performing a Strong Attack on a Stasis applied enemy will also break that enemy out of the stasis. (What I usually do to avoid this is when an enemy has their weak gauge exposed, I apply the Stasis, dodge-cancel out of it, then go into "X-X-X-X-Y" but then dodge-cancel out of the move before she makes the fountain. This does great damage, and is faster than mashing all seven of her "X"s. I then just go into her "X-X-X-Y" combo, which is what creates the water ball attack.)

Few things I would add 1. Her C4 Orbs follow the Opponent you target if they move from their place 2. Her C6 + ZR is the best way for shredding and doesn't require Stasis. I use it against the Level 80 Mission Guardian, and shred whole Bar. Her ZR is also best Talus WPG Shredder 3. Her Water Combos apparently end Stasis. Seems like a glitch. However, it effectively doesn't matter because her ZR is by far her best WPG Shredder.

Mipha, BOL Zelda and 2H Link are my favorites for different reasons, her Speed is fun she’s the most player-2 friendly character, BoL Zelda is fun because of the strategic ranged playstyle, and 2 Handed Link is insanely powerful while also minding not getting hit, it’s a fun gamble and the super-armor you get when extending his combos is amazing, shrugging off guardian lasers mid combo

So, how I like to heal with Mipha is I line Mipha up with the character I want to heal, after ordering to themselves (note that they won't stay still if there is even one enemy, no matter how weak, near them), press X, and if I am too close, I dodge without touching the control stick, and try again. if I am too far, I just keep spamming X. When the fountains hit the character, just keep spamming X. If you stop hitting them, just dodge without touching the control stick and keep spamming X.

This character truly was designed for coop. The other night she was a lifesaver for my friend and I on apocalyptic since we had a spot heal for oneshot protection at sny given time. Her weakpoint gauge openers seem far more crafted for other players to capitalize on than herself with stasis or hard hitting moves. All in all she is solid and a great change of pace from the clunkiness that was ruto the immobile wave sniper bot and takes her best parts to use for this kit.

I know its like three years, but I recently accidently found out that Mipha's unique action can be used midair at anytime, if there isn't an active fountain, that spouts a large fountain that Mipha swims down back onto the ground. Something I just found after playing her multiple times over and testing things.

Not something BIG that you missed, but her final strong attack doesn't just create a large standing whirlpool like her earlier strong attack, it actually crates a wave that moves forward and turns into a whirlpool after it travels a certain distance, hits an object, hits terrain or hits an enemy. That's only relevant because, unlike her previous attack string, this whirlpool has a variable distance it might end up being from mipha, but it also means her whirlpool is more likely to spawn right on top of the enemy you want it to

If you didn’t know, Mipha’s unique action can actually be canceled out of by pressing b. Because it can then be reactivated so fast the optimal way deal single target damage as Mipha is actually to alternate between pressing her unique action and b as fast as possible to melt health bars.

Mipha is definitely my go to, she has survivability with her healing and a fast fun playstyle you don't need much to learn in order to decimate with. She can also brutalize weak enemy groups without thought and her aerial attack you can mash to extend slightly is so good not only to move her while in a small area for repositioning, but to quickly drain wpg. I personally really love her bomb runes since its good wide area damage and perfect for forcing out Tallas wpg's. Also as far as I know, she can't heal herself with the small fountains? I keep seeing people saying so but I've never once seen it happen no matter what I do or try, only the big heal from the charge gauge special.

I built my Mipha as a support character - stacking special charge seals and always tasking her to move with other characters. Whenever they got low on health I would switch to her and use a special to heal up, then went back to one of the heavy hitters like Link or Urbosa

I found that the teleport version of the unique action activates consistently when you're moving (holding a direction) and press the unique action button, vs the geyser summoning version activates when you're stationary.

Mipha is my favorite character in Zelda BotW and also in Hyrule Warriors AoC. The 4th strong attack can become tracker when used against stronger enemies. Combined with flurry rush, you can destroy the guard all at once. (I think it's possible with the 5th strong attack too).

Mipha is the character I play with the most in Age of Calamity because I absolutely love her healing abilities. Combining her healing abilities with Revali's crowd clearing aerial attacks and Master Sword Link's attacks made the perfect combo for my playstyle. Also, even though Master Sword Link was my most used character from the original Hyrule Warriors, Ruto was my most used water-based character from the original Hyrule Warriors. I seem to really like playing as Zoras in the Hyrule Warriors games. Sidon is also among my 6 most used characters from Age of Calamity (Mipha, Revali, Master Sword Link, Impa, Urbosa, and Sidon). All the other characters in the game don't fit my playstyle excluding Calamity Ganon because I haven't unlocked and tried him yet.

I’m a huge fan of polearm wielders in warriors games. Lu Bu, Zhao Yun, Zhang Fei, and Yukimura just to name a few. I have to say that Mipla plays entirely different than them in that she’s incredibly fast and I really enjoy her play style of dodging through enemies with a more quantity over quality damage set. She also has great utility with her healing, teleporting, enemy manipulation and just straight being hard to hit. 10/10, I’m not even midway through the game and I think I’ve found one of my favorites for the entire warriors series, not just Hyrule.

I love her water fountains especially for the last strong attack, it washes away enemies and for powerful foes, like a talus where u can't reach the little ore, if u create a fountain it'll do damage to it

While I'm honestly still avoiding areal gameplay having some dozen hours into AoC (I feel it limits my movements when I'm trying to dodge enemies' attacks), I still enjoy Mipha a lot. She very fast, a healer, and her bomb-rune is just awesome: Having a larger area of continuing bomb-attacks is just soooo useful when damaging enemies, especially with their WPG out (since this is a large part of how I use bombs in the game)! Combine this with the dish of increased Sheikah-rune-damage of 35% (or even more), and Mipha is just a beast.

Something to note about Mipha as well: When she stasis's an enemy, most of her special attacks (the ones that involve water) automatically break the stasis.

I love miphas playstyle. And although this pains me to say, I feel like she is a bit ineffective with her attacks. Although I’ve just started the game, haven’t gotten her c6, ex ability or anything like that. I haven’t mastered her fountain things but I really want to because I love the healer playstyle and mipha in general. Update: I got her c6 and tried to learn her again. I really love her now.

An important part of her move set that you didn’t mention is fountain cancelling. It’s a very advanced mechanic that involves spamming ZR and B with specific timing so you repeatedly attack with the very first part of her ZR. Out of all the Warriors games I have played I think Mipha may be the only one who can heal other characters. (But I do normally play characters like Lu Bu or Ma Chao so if for some reason Mipha lacked healing I would likely play her anyway since I like Polearms a lot in Warriors games)

I don't know if she has the raw damage output of some characters. And I've learned to avoid using her fountain teleport around moblins, who always seem to hit her out of the air. But that heal has been so clutch in a some battles, and I wouldn't call her a combat slouch either. She's probably my second or third favorite character to play.

Late to the party and I could be wrong, but it appears that her C4, 5 and 6 combos can be "detonated" by pressing X while facing the orb/twister. At least it makes the thing vanish, idk if it adds extra damage, just might be something to check out. Also her ZR combo can heal her half a heart.

8:08 is a lie. She creates a waves that moves forward quite quickly, that will carry smaller enemys with it and that creates the Huge standing Whirlpool when hitting an obstacle or a strong enemy, like a moblin or generally anything with a healthbar at the top of the screen.

I liked Mipha a lot, but I think part of the good (and bad) of Age of Calamity is that all of the best characters are back-loaded in unlocking. Mipha is great, and you get her early, but as you go along you unlock more and more characters and as you go most are better than her, I've found. It's unfortunate, but on the plus side I think that you're right - AoC very clearly uses Mipha (and IMO Daruk) as "apologies" for Ruto (and IMO Darunia), because they both feel like they're delivering well on the unfulfilled potential those two movesets used to have.

Surprised you didn't cover her aerial heavy attack more, chaining aerial heavy into teleport, int aerial heavy creates a loop that allows her to deal dmg while avoiding most dmg and staying mobile. Her aerial normal string also seems to break weak point gages efficiently while avoiding trash mob dmg. You mention her kit is largely aerial based but don't really cover why to well.

@Daren Fliflet In the AoC timeline I have absolutely no doubt she ends up with Link. Even if Zelda tried something, Mipha already had the Zora armor and a marriage proposal ready, plus the advantage of a childhood friendship with Link, while Zelda and Link had just barely got acquainted. And she would absolutely manipulate Revali to be on her side against Zelink if she needed to, being the devious little fish that she is ("What? A low class nobody like him marrying the Princess of Hyrule? That's just asinine.")
