Hey Jaclyn! So I'm a cosmetologist & I was watching you do your hair & I noticed you did something I used to do. So after you curl your hair just let all the curls be let them cool completely I usually wait like 5 minutes after my whole head is styled then shake them out it really helps the hold also before you style spray an anti humidity light mist hair spray through & then comb through & proceed styling it may help you tremendously!! Love you best of luck ! 😘

Ok brace yourself for some real ness and love.I already left a comment on your Instagram but your snapchat story got me angry for you. How absolutely ridiculous is that people have to hate on you even for doing a giveaway. Someone needs to hug them. I have never in my life see a person do so much good and get so much DESERVED success. Like it's even an honor to get to watch you and interact with you as a subscriber because your hustle is so inspiring. I didn't want to comment this when you first came out because I didn't want people to think that I was trying to win. But no one does as much for their subscribers as you do. This giveaway?! I was floored just because you love us so much to try to give something back but for it to be THIS MUCH. Before you even dropped a price on how much you spent, I COULD TELL how personal it was for you. There are always people in ur corner. People who see you for who you really are. Don't let the haters get to you. My heart hurts w/you when they try❤️

Morgan Webb this is so true I don't understand why people give her so much hate for things she does when it isn't even a big deal or its out of her control I have never seen someone get attacked as much as she does it's ridiculous😤😠

I just wanted to say that you're such a kind person and even when you went on snapchat you asked everyone KINDLY to stop taging your family and celebs, and stil people attack you. That just shows your kindness and your good heart and how alot of people take advantage of that because they see you being a kind person and for them that becomes an easy target. So don't let anyone get you down, the kindness of your heart will always be the most important❤️

I love Jaclyn's red hair so much but I can't afford to get me hair done at a salon all the time so I buy the Loreal HiColor for dark hair only in the color magenta and it is literally the same color as hers. It's only $7.00 at Sally's. It is the only color I've found that doesn't fade to pink in between touch ups. Just thought that I would put that out their for the people that are on a budget like me! I do use the same shampoo and conditioner that she uses but I only use it once a month.

Same, but i use the ion brand and get darkest brown, but i like my hair dark brown almost black to pop agaisnt my fair skin
@Desi3A8 жыл бұрын
what do you mix it with
@Toriscoffeeandbooks8 жыл бұрын
you buy the color in sally's and then you buy the processor. so of you are going darker you can get like a 10 processor, but if you have darker hair and you want blonde or red which is lighter, you go with a higher number. Normally, the girls in the store are very helpful, plus there are instrustions in the box of color. You will need to buy gloves and the squeez like bottle and/or the bowl and brush. My hair is like a long pixie/bob so i use the squeez bottle and end up only using half to 3/4 of the color mix.

only shampoo your hair with cool or cold water! it will drastically change the amount of fading! after you shampoo&condition just put it up and continue with a nice hot shower! also, coloring your hair isn't damaging, lightening the hair is though!

i'm a cosmetology student by the way!
@mandimiller18248 жыл бұрын
Permanent color is damaging, but not AS damaging as lightening. Lightening can have very minimal damage if using the correct PROFESSIONAL lightener :) however demi is not damaging at all because it is only depositing and not opening the cuticle, which is what creates that damage. (Licensed and have been actively doing hair for a little over 3 years now. This isn't meant to come off bitchy, just informative! In school you do not learn everything you need to know until you're out in the field. Just wanted to throw some knowledge out there!)

I feel like what people don't understand is that red is really hard to keep in your hair. I had red hair for almost a year, and I wouldn't have dyed it back if I had the money, but hot showers are your worst enemy. I would always put my hair up, take a hot shower and then put it down to wash in cold. People don't understand that it'll fade super quickly. 😩 going a week or so without washing my hair worked really well too. I used tresseme shampoo and conditioner and kept it red for 4 months before dying again.
@meowsquad66968 жыл бұрын
I have naturally red hair, whenever I go into LUSH the sales associates always suggest me using this shampoo bar called Copperhead! Which is suppose to bring out red tones and has some henna in there I believe. I haven't tried it yet, but it has really good reviews. It might pro - long your hair color! Maybe give it a look? :)
@theonebandgeek1308 жыл бұрын
Cold water is life saver. iIt get rid of all the left over dye after two washes and then you can wash it in warm water without it fading (Or for me atleast). Also cold water will help keep your hair thick and lovely

I agree!! I loved having bright red hair, it was so fun and very me, but it was such a pain in the butt to take a shower or go swimming or do anything without it fading. I loved having red hair but I don't think I can ever go back just because of how much I hated that reason!!

You get a lot better results/volume/better curls if you don't touch the curl until it's cool. Heat lets you shape it differently but it needs to cool in that position to set. Try not brushing it out until it's all cooled, say 5/10 mins after you have finished curling it. You will get much better volume.
@EilidhInWonderland8 жыл бұрын

If you watch her video of her wedding, she is blonde! I think it's on Johns channel. Just type in Jaclyn and John Hills wedding. She was beautiful with that color as well. It seemed almost to suit her a little better, but it could have been the tan face too. Either way, she can pull off any look!!

My mom is a hairdresser and there is something where red dye molecules are larger and can't fully penetrate the hair follicles so that's why they rinse away more than brown hair dyes. Don't quote me but that's what I remember her saying. Anyone else know more about this??
@retroplexus8 жыл бұрын
Olivia Tull - yes and also if you wash your hair try to use the coldest setting since the hair follicle will most likely close and keep the dye from rinsing away & apply red shampoo & conditioner. Dyed my hair red for a while and i hated the maintenance ;(
@OliviaTull8 жыл бұрын
Johanna Quinones I've never gone fully red but I've done red streaks, red toned browns (so it lasts a little longer) and red violet ends and even that took a lot of work! The violet ends only lasted for about 2-3 weeks.
@Kayjay12418 жыл бұрын
Olivia Tull Yes you are correct! I have my cosmetology license and used to be a hairdresser. Red hair dye molecules are bigger than any other color. Because of that, they get "stuck" in the cuticle of the hair, as opposed to the cortex (which they are supposed to be in). That's why red hair color washes out the fastest, as well as the hardest to get rid of when wanting to go back to blonde or brunette!

I used to have red hair like this too and the maintenance was insanity. Someone had mentioned that I should use some manic panic dye to top it up every once in a while. I actually put a bit in my conditioner and so it would deposit some of the color every time I washed my hair. Worked nicely... I also did that when my hair was blond. I put the violet manic panic in my conditioner so it was tinted a light purple and toned it every couple of days. My hair stylist says the dye is safe and very good for your hair since it's vegetable based.

This is the most random question ever... but do you wax your armpits? They look so flawless and soft (this just keeps getting more awkward as I type) .... just curious because I have very coarse underarm hair and they never look freshly shaved! :/ haha. Just wondering if you naturally have less hair there, or you have some secret to slay the underarm game :)

From the way you described it, it sounds like my hair is EXACTLY like yours. Naturally dirty, dingy, ashy blonde/light brownish, but have been dying it vibrant red for over five years. No volume. Georgia/South Carolina humidity makes it helpless. Wash a couple times a week. The only difference is that mine doesn't really fade; I only have to color it every 8 weeks or so (except in the summer when it grows super fast). Mine pulls red no matter what I put on it; I dyed it purple once and it turned auburn within a week. I usually use Wella Color Touch because it's demi permanent, so it's not quite as damaging. I'd love to find out what kind your stylist uses on you so I can compare!

My hair used to be super long (passed my butt long) and it's super thick and pin straight! It wouldn't hold a curl at all. I got curlformers and they seriously changed my hair life. I love them for curling my hair!! I watched some KZbin tutorials of girls using them before I bought them and I was sold on them. The only thing is that I don't get how some girls sleep in them. I tried that and it was awful.

Leave your hair no wash for 2nd or 3rd day, because since you wash your hair and curls your hair when it's freshly wash it's cuz the oil it's gone from your hair. Curl them on the 2nd or 3rd day and that will keep the curls stay all day! And if you want your hair still look clean used dry shampoo spray that will keep you hair look fresh ad clean.
@rachd47948 жыл бұрын
Maybe it's the wand or straightener you're using. I have really thin hair and I've tried numerous curling irons(even after reading rave reviews of them). A lot of curling irons are only coated with titanium or ceramic so you might want to try something that's 100% pure titanium or ceramic. I also find that the Hot Tools gold curling irons also hold well. I use the Nume titanium wands, but you can find one from whatever brand. It also helps to hold the curl or pin it after rea leasing it from the iron so that it cools in that position and it will last longer. Titanium and gold are more damaging for the hair, but hold better. There are also products that are made for heat styling that you spray beforehand that can help with longevity as well.
