Hola! Thank you! To answer your question, I don't recommend using any type of conditioner or products like creams etc in your locs, especially in the beginning stages. Conditioners may cause your locs to unravel and products in general especially heavy creams or waxes will cause buildup in your locs

Thanks for staying to the end! To answer your question, get some snacks, your favorite series on Netflix and prepare to spend some time! But in terms of the actual retightening, I'd say get a spray bottle so that you can dampen your roots while retightening to reduce breakage, and don't retighten too tight.
