I have 7 oral piercings, and tips for avoiding this shit situations (I have bit like that before): Please don't let fear of pain or healing prevent you from getting it done! The mouth heals very fast and these piercings aren't that problematic! Do it and live your best life :) - As soon as the swelling goes down, get it changed ASAP because you might chip your teeth from biting - You're less likely to bite horseshoe shaped hoops like Marvolo has than labrets. Barbells are ok too but have been known to cause gum recession -Bioflex and acrylic are good materials for tooth protection but acrylic isn't so good for you -Eat slowly for the love of god EAT SLOW -eventually you learn to eat 'around it' and it happens less and less.

I want snake bites so bad.. but there are so many judgmental people that shame you just for a piercing. my school doesnt let me wear my gauges because its "distracting" like wtf. a girl can wear earings , I have the same thing its just that mine are bigger. this world is such a bitch

Yeah I think its ridiculous how people can judge for such small things... A lot of people in food services won't hire a person with lip piercings because of "sanitation" I'm pretty sure any mouth being near food would be unsanitary, not just the piercings rofl. I don't get it at all. Snakebites are something I'm glad I waited to get though, because being in school is a time where there's just more judgement and it's harder to escape. At least now I only deal with rudeness online xD

Man I have the same exact feeling about lower snakebites and how personally I think, mainly the ring types, look better when they're closer to the lip. With the labret types I think they look better a little farther away from the lips. I like rings and horseshoe ones better than labrets anyway. I recently had a sudden **need** for snakebites. I think it's because I always thought they looked hot but only a few years ago was I brave enough to get regular old earlobe pirceings, so the connection in my head wasn't there until now, the thought "I could get these". My older sibling would always get new ear piercings (industrial, conch, etc.) too and I don't really care for more ear piercings so it all just clicked a few weeks ago that I can get a face piercing. Before that for a year or two I thought about nipple piercings (huh I seem to have an affinity for symmetrical piercings) but for now I'm feeling way more strongly about snake bites. The only other time I felt like this was when I **needed** to cut my hair shorter than I'd ever done before or else it felt like I was almost like, suffocating and that turned out really well. I love having hair that goes above the shoulders, also because I've always hated brushing and its a million times easier to brush short hair, literally takes two seconds. Well it's long now, I need to get it cut again but I wanna try bleaching/dyeing it first -also for the first time ever. So if I felt that way the first time and it turned out well, I guess this might end up looking good on me too. Although to be on the safe side I'm getting fake piercings first to try it out. Also because this weird hunger for snakebites is driving me nuts and I need to have even fake ones so I can calm the heck down first. Plus getting them done for real costs money and I need to commit to a hygiene routine and actually brush my teeth for once and so on. But anyway watching vids about people's experiences with snake bites has been really great, I am looking for lots of em to pass the time. I wanna start with labrets and then switch to rings long term. Thank you for the video. Take care.

btw how long does swelling usually last? I just got my snake bites pierced & am paranoid about them looking uneven 😅

Ah that depends on a lot of things! I'd say the most intense of the swelling lasted only a few days, but might be a week or so before it feels normal. It differs from person to person and piercing to piercing. When I had just one lip stud, it was swollen for almost 3 weeks uhg. Best of luck healing your new piercings.

I really really want snakebites, but the only thing holding me back is the chance of gum recession. Like you said in the video the bar jewelry did that. I think i would want to wear the bars more than the rings so idk what to do :/

My first one I didn't eat for awhile the second one ( happened today I'm eating a whole hotdog) still in pain though I've never pulled mine through but my disc has gotten caught on my tooth

Yeah it's good to stick to mostly soft foods for a while when healing them up just to prevent those painful moments!

Which type of jewelry is best when getting snake bites for the first time? Like rings, studs, etc. Because I've heard that putting studs in initially can help with swelling, but rings can be better for cleaning. So I'm not really sure. I want snake bites so bad but I'm just so afraid that they won't heal properly. Also, great video! Thanks so much for sharing!

I would definitely suggest rings, to help prevent against gum damage. Best of luck to you! The healing process isn't too difficult. I think it's really much harder with studs though. The rings will feel really weird at first, but it'll be worth it in the long run, I believe.

I´m getting snakebites too. I have one "ring labret" same as you - I mean close to the lip. The thing with "close to the lip" piercing style is that it is ONLY and ONLY made for having RINGS , that´s why you bit down all the time - same for me! Hahah! It´s only suppose to be for 3-4 weeks (if you are lucky like me maby less) and then you change to the ring so you wont stretch the piercing "hole" on the outside as you said. If you and me we´re to have piercings lower (a bit away from the actual lip as you said) then it woulden´t be a problem - but it depend´s my piercer says my underlip is "kinda only made for rings" but I used to have a Madonna piercing and that was always perfect and never a problem ( accept it didin´t suit me) aaanyway - you´re beautiful and they suit you well! Hope you are saticfied :D

Ahh thank you so much. Yeah I love my snakebites! It's hard to pick favorites, but they might be my favorites of my piercings. The rings have definitely been far more comfortable. I wish someone had told me that about the rings sooner, but ah well, seems I always have to learn the hard way. Hope your lip heals up nicely with the new piercing!

Oh my god I relate so much, same thing happened with my angel bites. I bit into some pizza, got the disk-part stuck INSIDE of my lip, and had to endure 5 hours of multiple people trying to remove it & 2 layers of stitches at the emergency room. Now there's too much scar tissue to ever repierce it :( 😂

i did 4 at a time snake medusa and tongue, i don't know what i was thinking my mouth got seriously soo swelling, i have one week now and its mucho better medusa was the less problematic its heal very well, tongue hurt a little, but the snake bites are more trouble the right is actually fine in comperacion of the left its pretty swelling and the big bar isn't enough the ball keeps getting inside the skin in front or in the back y keep moving it soo it doesn't get stoke like this,and some liquids are getting out y heard its normal but the medusa didn't do that.

I have a similar story about a lip piercing. The first time I got it done I had a ring and it got so infected and swollen it wouldn't move and I couldn't get it out. The pain was excruciating and I had to go to the e.r and they had to literally hold me down, give me Novocain, and cut the ring apart and pull it out . I also hate needles that aren't for piercings so this was traumatic to me I was like screaming the whole time 😂 and then they told me if I didn't come any sooner to get it out I could have died? I guess coz of how bad the infection was.. So ya .-.

Because everyone has a different body! I have a weakened immune system for various reasons, so my piercings take longer to heal regardless

I had my lip pierced about 2 years ago and it never healed ): it was always irritated, and after a year I finally took it out. I'm still sad about it. But I think I will get it re pierced closer to the lip because mine was also kind of low and like you I didn't really like the look of that. Anyways, you are so cute Marvolo ;) have a great day ^^
