Some hospitals will just connect the acepto syringe to the tube and press it while listening on the stomach using stethoscope, if they hear a burping sound then the tube is in the right position and the patient is ready to feed.

My mum had surgery of removal of voice box, needs to be feed on feeding tube 6 times a day , 3hours apart, first one is 8am and next is 11am, 2pm ,5pm, 8pm, 11pm, like this you too she can swallow soft foods again and start eating from there. Currently she still in hospital so have different nurse each clock meal to feed her but once at home I will feel stress out because I have adhd and get anxiety from making any mistakes and easily get depression. First feeding is 8am and last feeding is 11pm meaning I can’t sleep until I feed her, what if I accidentally sleep in the afternoon or night? Cause I have tend to get sleepy in the afternoon to night and fall asleep on the bed

Hey, it's understandable to feel anxious about something as new as this. I hope u can share ur concerns with the doctor, as the feeding times can have some variance in most situations. So, I mean it doesn't have to be 11pm exactly, probably can be a bit earlier depending on her health status.

Surely you can set Alarms to remind/alert you isn't? Scheduled Alarms easily done nowadays.😅

Please hire a live in caregiver with experience in NGT if you can. Alternatively, get a day care nurse/career to help with the feeds in day while you rest, and then just focus just on the night feeds before sleeping. Trust me, it’s not sustainable for a family member to do this alone without assistance especially in the longer term.
