go for higher iits but don't take branches like textile and geography, these branches won't be giving you jobs just after graduation. you can go with mining or material but before that you should have a clear idea whether you want to go to IT job or core job

there is no good college for petroleum engg in mombay except IIT bombay , but they are also offering masters. better you do b tech in chemical engineering and then qualify for IIT bombay petroleum. there are some other private colleges in maharastra which are offering Petroleum engineering you can look for them also.

Don't go for Petroleum Engineering in RGIPT. Placement is almost 0. Only ONGC comes for recruitment of 6-7 students for drilling profile for general category(not good profile) and production of other categories. Other few companies are Adani and torrent gas which offers 3.5 to 4 lpa to 12-15 students. Rest of the students are unplaced. Very poor placement cell, they don't even bother about it. Placement officer have no industrial experience.
