The most helpful thing I've heard about all about spelling is the fact that there's a placement test. My son is 4.5 and I'd like him to start level 1 in kindergarten. Now I can tell for sure that he's ready for it. Thank you...

I teach reading and spelling together in my tutoring with young readers. I build on the previously known, and my students always become outstanding readers, spellers, and dictation writers. Examples are: most of my students become their class dictionary, everyone asking them how to spell words. My students, who start out low performing in their classroom, become the highest skilled students. Most score several grade levels above their grade. We write sentences and paragraphs together, and they become advanced writers. Reading and spelling, when taught together, enhance the eternalizing of both skills.

Love it sweetness. We have always used All About Learning Press from the beginning as well. We love it and they have the best customer service ever. My youngest who is 8 might get to use the colored version of level 4 if I decide he even needs level 4 reading. I was tempted to buy level 3 for him when they came out with color but I resisted 😄😂. But I quickly got the app when they came out with that 🙌🏾 I do like your ideas for bringing in the extra fun. Watercolors and the chalkboards with the grids I think my boys will especially enjoy for the switch up. Thank you for sharing love 💕

Yeah, my kids like the physical tiles more than the tablet because they can move around more. My daughter has literally run across the room and put the word together and then runs away before running back to put the tiles away. 🤣

Thank you for this video. I am a first time homeschooler and am using AAR level 2 with my 1st grader. We are only a month in and her reading has improved so much! I have the AAS level 1 but have not started yet. Do you do both the reading and the spelling everyday? I also have a daughter using AAR level 4. We public schooled until this coming school year so my 3rd grader is flying thru level 4 so I may need to purchase something else to complete our year! The first grader I am going much slower since she is just learning to read. Great ideas thank you again!

Hey! Welcome to homeschool life. I don't do both with them everyday now. In the beginning I did. I do a spelling lesson with them each once a week and they practice those concepts and words through out the week on their own. My oldest doesn't do AAR anymore we focus on reading comp more so now. My youngest is still working through we do about 3 lessons a week.

I just have a first level of All about Spelling, is it too late to start with a 1st grader who is almost finishing 1st grade, but is struggling with phonic blends? What will you suggest

It does have a little grammar, but I also use First Language Lessons after we finished All About Reading Level One
