This year, I aim to finish the daily core subjects as quickly as possible. To do that, I need to streamline all subjects. In today's video, I show you how I prep All About Reading to be 100% open and go all year long.

This is how I prep too and it was definitely a game changer. I saw someone take the word cards and rubber band each level together. That way they weren't searching trying to find those specific cards for that day's lesson.

Using the box with dividers for my cards makes finding the cards really quick. However I can see if you didnt use the box how banding them together would really expedite the process. I'm loving having everything precut, jump in and get going ✋

This is such a great idea! I’m thinking of getting level 4 for my 4th grader who struggles with reading. I know you used this for 3rd grade, but do you think it would be helpful? I pulled her out of school when she was in 3rd grade and I thought reading was already taken care of, but hearing her read out loud, I realized she tends to skip words or slur over words she cant pronounce. I used AAR for my kindergartner for the first time last year, and we both absolutely loved it! So I’m wondering if level 4 would help my 9 year old improve since it’s so easy to understand and teach.

I believe you can find assessments online at All About Reading's website. That might help you decide the most appropriate level for your 4th grader. The levels aren't necessarily grade specific so I would check that out. It could be that maybe you will see a few concepts that need worked on. Also we love Reading Eggs which is a reading app (also have an assessment that will place them at the correct level). This could be a good option if it's for building fluency. Good luck!

Yes, we used one level for each school year. Depending on your child, it could take a little longer or a little less.
