I’m not really sure why KZbin decided I needed to see this… but it was absolutely correct! I don’t have a set up for them but they are adorable and I’m so glad to know about them! I’m also genuinely excited about the coming snails!

If you got a jar with wood, leaves and some water in it you could make a setup for them.

Excellent rundown, you can get them in most gardens if you just laya few leaves in a bit of dirt by the by as a means of easily getting them

My colony of little silvery ones just appeared in my enclosures years ago. Maybe they had been hitching a ride on some feeder snails. They served me well as a cleanup crew. Then they had a prolonged sabbatical, where they lived in the soil of my plants whilst my enclosures were less natural. Now, I am returning to a more bioactive kind of setup and so do the springtails...

Springtails popped up in my blue tongue skink’s enclosure. I didn’t do anything, they just showed up one day. I’ve looked into it extensively, and it seems like this can happen in a lot of ways and they’re likely to be in coconut husk substrate when you buy it.

Springtails are literally everywhere, including inside your house. If you have a top they can jump in they will do. Like you say, you can get them in your substrate, on drift wood, on leaf litter etc, the world would be a very messy place without them :) Thanks for watching.
