I have a date run of William and Mary farthing and one or two half crowns, They are not a cheap coin to buy. Even a crusty one will cost you £20 quid

I managed to pick a 1694 half penny up in a lot of 9 copper coins from my local antiques market, the lot cost £6 😂 It is in very poor condition, but you can just make out the portraits and date

Did coins circulate much in this time period? Was it usual for the common man to use a coin like to buy things? I am asking because I do not know how money circulated in England at a time before the industrial revolution.

@@BitsAndBobsCoins Thank you. Knowing how people paid for things is something I find interesting. England has a Roman history so I can see coins being used as the Romans used them. But, in times of trouble and strife, hard money tends to be hoarded. I did look around a bit, but I couldn't find the answer.
