You were sent pictures of a few coins and in there was an 1888 gold sovereign and you said that what I sent was of no value go to show

Yes I love these - particularly because they are always in such nice condition, never actually having circulated. I have 2 or three of the young Queen like this.

I have one! And its like the coin shown, uncirculated basically. Portraits for the gold, they are all meh! for QE2 so I will choose the 1989 enthroned portrait on the commemorative sovereigns. It would be hard to find post 1958 in grades below EF as they had limited usage (Mostly middle east) and ones from 1980 onwards were minted exclusively for collectors. Interestingly until 1968 gold was fixed at USD$35.80 an ounce, which was around £13 then, so this sovereign would have cost that much then. Canada released a $20 gold coin in 1967 and it had approx $19.50 of gold when it came out.

1957, 58, 59, 62 - 68 for this type, then again from 1980 with Machin head.
