An excellent combination review and history. “Iconic” is an overused word in the watch world, but the Lange 1 richly deserves the appellation. Thanks for recognizing Günter Blümlein, who was a titan of the 20th Century watch industry, as well as Reinhard Meis, who was responsible for most of the early ALS designs. These two men were pivotal in making A. Lange & Sohne the company it is today.

@@Baruch-Hashem the Big Date originated in the 1930s but it was never as popular as it is now and the Lange 1 definitely has alot to do with it. Glashutte Original, Blancpain, and Breitling started to use it after it came out. Thank you for the follow and hope to bring you some good content. Cheers!

Glad to see your work again Mark after C&C Hidden Gems! One correction I wanted to make at 5:56 was that in 1994 Lange released the Arkade, not the Cabaret as one of the four initial releases. The Cabaret was first released in 1997. The Arkade was a more unusual case shape, rounded at the top and bottom while straight on the sides.
