I did premium drinks on my weeks solo cruise on explorer, as I didn't know there would be water stations on the decks and panicked that I'd have to buy it in port 😂 It was nice to have the big bottles of water delivered to the cabin each day, and good to take them on excursions, and I liked getting a hot chocolate for the cinema, as well as not worrying about looking at the cost of drinks. It wasn't too bad a price to treat myself but I'm going again for two weeks and I think it was over £300 to upgrade so we're not! I found the alcohol in most drinks to be okay, but I had one drink (think it was a punch) at 5pm and had to really concentrate to walk in a straight line after just the one!

Hi Louisa, sorry for late reply, only just returned from latest cruise so playing catch up. We did premium on our first Marella cruise and although it was great to order whatever we wanted we did decide that we wouldn't have it moving forward with Marella. Marella had no fridges in rooms on Discovery 2 and they have just removed them from inside rooms on Explorer. We found the 1.5ltr water delivered to the room useless as we could not keep it cold, the water stations and flasks served our purpose so much better. Annoyed that i could not get a can of pop before 10am and water as you disembark ship was not free for premium. Was disappointed with the standard of drink. Now we just have the odd coffee or cocktail as a treat and works out so much cheaper. Drinks on the Explorer were a different standard and the cocktails were really well mixed and brilliant. I think you have to weigh up whether premium works for you. We still think at £90 a week it represents excellent value for money but just not needed for our needs. Thanks for watching. 🙂🙂🙂🍹🍹🍹

We go premium as my wife dislikes the pump soft drinks, (cans of coke etc are on premium), and she does not really drink. I like my whiskeys and will drink any, but ngl prefer the premium ones. No right or wrongs just personal choice. Superb vlogs as always 👏🏼

Hi Dave, thanks for watching and for your lovely comment. I think its for each person to decide having looked at the menu's and prices. We think the premium drinks package still offers outstanding value for money but our experience was that we didn't need it as all inclusive served our purposes. I will pay for the odd coffee in Coffee Port and i will be having a mudslide cocktail but other than these i am happy with whats on the all inclusive. 🍹🍹🍹🚢🚢🚢😎😎😎

Cheers Dawn. Yes it is a shame that if you choose premium then everyone who you share a cabin with has to have it too. I guess the system was so badly abused that there is no other way they can monitor the situation. Harsh but i think understandable and at least the premium still offers good value for most people. Coffee's are great on there though so go overdose yourself with caffeine and get your money's worth. Happy Easter for you too and thanks for your continued support. 🙂🙂🙂

I don't think you didn't let the viewer see the menu pages for long enough . . perhaps a series of "stills" at the end would be good for us viewers.

Hi!! We are going on Marella Voyager in June. We’re both miserable gits (😂) and thought we would pay to use the sun beds in the Spa area. We wondered if the use of these was time limited or whether we could stay all day/week ? Would you happen to know?? Ian

Hi Ian, I think you will be very happy being miserable gits on the spa sun beds 🤣We have a video on the ocean spa on the Voyager playlist which shows the prices for the spa sun terrace. I think you can book them for a day or a week. The terrace when we filmed was lovely and had no one using it. I think a week was £99. You could also book one treatment and access to the sun terrace for £149. We are not ones for lying on the beds most the day, if we were I definitely would have booked it. 😃

The drinks menus and prices will be pretty standard across their whole fleet of ships. What may be different is the name of some bars. The Exchange for example is only on Voyager. We are on Explorer in July so will be good for us to compare fully.

So what's the price of the All Inclusive drinks menu or is it just extra at £90 per 6 nights for Premium?

The all inclusive is the basic drinks menu that everyone gets. To get the extra drinks and better brands you can pay £90 per person for 6 days, this is called the premium package and every person in your cabin has to upgrade if chosen. In the menus the drinks without prices are the all inclusive. Drinks with prices are free on the premium. Drinks marked with a cross carry an extra charge for all inclusive and premium packages. Hope this explains it a little better. Personally we find the all inclusive package totally adequate for our needs. 🚢🚢🚢🍹🍹🍹🌞🌞🌞

Disagree about over alcohol I found most cocktails and spirit drinks were not strong enough a bit like a poor all inclusive hotel

Always good to get other opinions, we can only vlog as we find and after all we are all different in what we like. We found asking for mocktails and single shots worked so much better for us to get it to our taste. What we can agree on though is that the cocktails were not very good and we did feel proper measures should be used and some additiional training. 🍹🍹🍹🍹

Not sure when this video was made but no Marella ship has out door bar seats any more. They do not want people like me who sits there watching the wrong stuff that goe's on behind there and I have done over 70 cruises 30 with Marella.& Thomson. All the good beer has now been replaced by s***, no Bud's, Holsten Pils etc. Baileys if you are not watching they will use a fake called Mollies or Ryans, cocktails that should have Absolute in they use house crap, hence why I sit at the bar....Or used to. We digress.

Video was filmed in December. Definitely bar seats in the open air bar off the Summer House. Our favourite bar on the ship. We find the all inclusive drinks package very good and are surprised at some of the brands on that list. We were most disappointed with cocktails and maybe the lack of wine choice but still plenty we liked to drink and managed fine on this occasion not going premium. 🍹🍹🍹🍹🍹🍹🍹
