Thanks for the great low down on the Debonair history. I owned C33 serial CD1099 VH-DYT for ten years and flew it all over Australia. It is now living in Singapore and has American registration N99KY. My flying days are behind me now but I really miss that lovely airplane! John.

Great video Gary, greetings from the U.K.! I flew a brand new A36 in 1995 for a rich businessman I taught to fly. Amazing plane but too much for my needs so I’m hoping to find an F33… they’re a rare beast over this side of the Pond. Keep up the fab videos. 👍🏻

The Beechcraft Debonair is a great first High performance aircraft on owning as today’s market is way above wholesale price and finding one that’s already been upgraded and I’m looking forward to seeing what you did to yours .

Hello Garry Hello Garry, great video, I'm about to buy a 35c33 from 1965. But I want to fly a lot in the mountains in the summer. What are your experiences with short runways when it's warm with the 225 HP? Greetings Carsten Northern Germany
@DemoMusАй бұрын
It will use up 2000’ on a warm day with a load. I’ve had mine up to 15,000’ but it took awhile to get there. You would need to watch your weight for sure and give it about 15 degrees of flap.

Almost picked one up 2 years ago when I was looking but felt I didn't need the bigger engine and speed so i went with the cheaper more economical Sierra which has treated me very well! If I ever need a 6 seater I would like an A36 if I can afford it :) haha

The Navion was actually first worthy competitor for the Bonanza. It had a 225 HP Continental or 260 HP Lycoming Engine, four or Five seats retractable gear, a Laminar flow wing and a neat sliding canopy which proved to be troublesome for ladies who wore high heels and dresses. It was a high quality aircraft like the Bonanza but it was safer and easier to fly because it was more forgiving and a little slower. Sadly, it’s cost of production was too high even for Ryan after North American absorbed the lions share of the design and development costs. Beech was primarily a general aviation company and could control costs more effectively than Ryan or North American who were primarily military contractors who were attempting to tap into the expected aviation boom which never fully materialized.

Thanks for sharing. What a beautiful airplane. I bet it's a joy to fly. Are parts hard to come by for this series?
@DemoMus3 жыл бұрын
Parts have not been an issue. Fortunately the Debonairs share many of the same parts as the F series and there are a lot of them out there.
@markseward12143 жыл бұрын
Actually, the Navion was the only real competition for the early Bonanza. It was a 4-place retract with a canopy. The Navion of 1947 day was underpowered compared to the Bonanza until 1961 when it came with the 'G' model that had a door instead of the canopy and the IO-470H up front.

My dad knew a man in arkansas who had a navion they used to go to all the razorback games in. I know 20 years ago that plane was just sittin yellow crazed glass grounded

@DemoMus3 жыл бұрын
I'm aware of the F33C Bonanza aerobatic aircraft, but not in the Debonair model
@edwardhobelman62962 жыл бұрын
The Debonair was the straight tail Bonanza. As far as I know the aerobatic Bonanza was straight tail and called a Deb. I remember seeing one about 1973 or 4. I recall seeing the Debonair badging on it but what do I know I only maintained small aircraft for 45 years.
@edwardhobelman62962 жыл бұрын
According to Aviation Consumer There we’re 25 E33Cs made and 5 F33Cs so a total of 30 aerobatic Debs were built the differences were a beefed up tail A positive pressure fuel pump and a pop off door.
@johnmajane37313 жыл бұрын
