Yep, you can take 6 to 12 and even longer. Mine is a year and four months and almost healed, but not quite exactly yet now with the downsizing of the bar because mine what it might the way my body is is it is very prone and very high to infection all my piercings are my skin easily gets irritated easily gets pissed off very very easily, especially when it’s a newer, more fresher piercing so if it’s only like a year old two years old piercing a lot of times my piercings love to be a fucking fussy little bitch and they will swell and get infected and the fucking dog and even when my piercing is completely fully healed, it still likes to be a bitch so for me that’s why I don’t downsize my bar until it’s like a few years old because if I downsize too quickly my ear don’t like that my ear don’t like my ear doesn’t like to be rushed with downsizing so I always go extra time and even my piercer nose to go extra for me because my ears are so finicky so flare up it’s they’re so fiddly finicky like they love to just get mad from anything it could be dog hair. It could be just simply, a piece of dirt the newest one now is I’m allergic to pollen. I’ve been allergic to pollen all my life but now the newest thing is it affects my piercings now like if it’s high intent of pollen all my piercings are affected, including my snug where they just get really red hot and itchy because I’m allergic to pollen so Really for my piercings it’s more I don’t downsize right away with my jewellery regardless if it’s a curved barbell or a hoop or whatever because my ears are so fucking finicky they just love love love to be a pain in the ass and so with mine, it’s like I love to wait until it’s fully healed like fully healed to the point it’s like 23 years old and then I downsize because my ears are so fucking finicky. They love to be a bitch. They can be fine for months and then be like I’m a fucking motherfucking bitch and I’ve had it where I’ve downsize too soon and then it embedded in my ear and then it was no fun so that’s why I just I don’t because my ears are so finicky and flare they just they love to be a finicky little bitch, no matter the piercing he Likes conch rock tragus whatever it’s my ear it’s it’s just that’s why I don’t even rush that’s why even before downsizing my stack globe. I always have to remember I take extra time so it’s extra long for me for healing. It’s always has been because my ears are so sensitive. They are so sensitive and they’re even more sensitive now as they then they used to be now the new thing is my allergies are even worse to the point even pollen effects if I get pollen on my piercings, it affects them and makes them swell and and makes them upset and so now I have to keep that in mind as well, so it’s just I don’t downsize my jewellery until it’s at least two years old now because my ears are so finicky and flurry And I don’t mean just my snug piercing oh no I mean all of my piercings. My helix is my lobes my daeth them every single piercing is like that my conch piercings all of them and so that’s why when I do downsizing it’s like my piercings like at least three years old by the time I do it because my ears are so finicky as fuck don’t have that bar there my ear can easily swell right over especially if it’s not a couple years old and that’s why it’s like yeah I’m just gonna wait and wait because I don’tsomething will happen the way my piercings are the older. They are the better. They are at handling different little things that irritate them off like Paulin or dog hair dirt that sort of thing the more older they are the better off they are handling that and that’s when I go when I downsize so I wait till at least it’s about 23 years old sometimes even longer depending on the piercing because, my ears are so finicky so flurry they love to just stay and be fine for months and months and months and then on all of a sudden I slept on it wrong and bang piercings pissed off or I got a dog in it. I didn’t clean it right away bang it’s pissed off, really pisses off my ears. I’m allergic to pollen so it really pisses off my ears a lot in the summer different things so that’s why I do not downsize right away. I don’t do that just because if I do that too quickly, I know it could embed the bar could be in bed or I could have no room for swelling so I just wait till my piercings are ancient and old. even my piercer said because I have very flare ears like my ears just piss off all the time she was like I don’t want to change your snug bar to a shorter bar because your ears flare and and get infected quite often and because of that, she’s like if I shorten the bar or I put something tight in there tighter than it already is, it can piss it off to a point where it pop up and get healthy and fine and now it’s gonna start she’s like it, start migrating or rejecting and stuff like that so she’s like because your ears are so easily flared and they get upset and infected often. She’s like I don’t wanna mess with it. That’s why she’s like if anything I’m just gonna keep I would suggest you keep your length of bar and you just put like gems on the on each end just to keep it nice and long that way, it has room to swell and go up and down just in case you get infections and stuff like that because I’m very prone to infection as well. My ears are very sensitive. They’re very very prone to infection and so that’s why I can’t downsize because she’s like if you downsize it could make the piercing in bed or do something and she’s like that’s a healthy snug piercing and I she was like I know how much you really thought to get that piercing heal and she’s like I don’t want to have it where you know you lose it because it gets tight in bed or rejects or starts migrating or something so that’s why my bar is long and it’s just always gonna be long. I think you even if I do ever downsize it’ll probably be years and years and years and years and years later, but even then I probably won’t downsize because she’s like your ears, so sensitive and prone to infection. My ear piercings have always been so I’ve always had to have all my jewellery out a little bit, larger gauge, and what it needs because of the swelling and all of that my ears have always been sensitive so she’s like I don’t want you to ever lose your snug piercing. She’s like that piercing. You know it’s hard to heal and stuff like that and she’s like I don’t want you to ever lose your snug so you know that’s why I keep the bar nice and long and I just put in the middle where it has a little bit of a little bit of on the other and it’s perfect and it doesn’t get snagged or nothing. And then I’m able to clean it without moving the bar and we’re good. and the reason also my piercer said not to shrink it down is because my ears are weird so they can go from. I’m fine I’m happy. I’m totally good for like months on it and then then the next thing you know three months later, one of my piercings is just upset. And now I just found out I have a new thing with my allergies which sucks which also makes my piercings flare and including my snug flares, and it’s not the comfortable thing in the world and I’ve been allergic to pollen for a long time and I just found out now like a few days ago it was high pollen and I had went outside because I was on a phone call with one of my friends and the that night and the next day my snug and all my piercings were all red itchy and swollen because of the pollen and so because of that now it’s like OK yeah we’re not gonna downsize my snug because I have allergy now and it’s like yeah we’re just gonna keep it so that I can always have that room to swell because I will always need it especially in the summer because I now have a new allergy symptom and it causes my ears to go really itchy and red and it’s not just inside my ears. It’s actually all over my ears, including my piercings and it’s from pollen and I’m allergic to Paul and I’ve been allergic to pollen for years, but my allergy to pollen has gotten worse to the point now even if it’s on my ear piercings, it irritates them and makes them get itchy and swells and that sort of thing so because I have that now it’s like yeah I’m just gonna keep bar for my snug because it’s like I wanna have that room there for it to expand and swell and be fine and then expand and swell and be fine and then have that room always have it there so it can breatheand it doesn’t push out because it’s just I don’t wanna do that
