I got Benavidez in this fight. But Caleb has definitely planted a seed in David’s head. I’ve never seen him show this much emotion in a fight like this before. And even though Canelo beat Plant, he got a lot of confidence and experience from that fight. I’m sure he’s made mental comparisons of the two. That’s why he was telling David that he wasn’t scared of him. But we shall see.

This is an interesting fight, Caleb has nothing to lose anymore which makes him very dangerous. David on the other hand needs to prove that he is as dangerous if not more dangerous than Canelo by beating Plant worse than Canelo did. Plant doesnt have the power to keep Benavidez off of him, so he will fight a very tactical fight. Hes gonna stay out of the pocket and use lateral movement and angles and pot shot Benavidez from the outside looking for a points win. Benavidez will be happy to step inside and throw combinations without fear of getting caught because despite Plant's ko of Dirrell, he is not a banger. My gut is telling me Benavidez will win the fight with his constant pressure and combination punching, however im curious to see if Plant's tactics frustrate Benavidez to the point he gets out of his gameplan and starts headhunting. Im still going with Benavidez, perhaps by decision because i think Plant will be staying away for most of the fight and looking to counter. Benavidez's work rate and sheer volume punching will get him the win probably by points, but i wouldnt be surprised if its a late round tko if Benavidez figures a way to cut off Plant's escape routes and starts to unload on him in corners and on the ropes.
