What was even the point of giving Ash a Primeape if he was gonna give it to someone to be "trained"? Especially since he gave his Primeape five episodes AFTER he caught it.

I'm just saying that a handful of Ash's older Pokemon, like Pidgeot, Tauros, a couple others had very little development, and yet had more screen time and useage than Primeape. Of which, the aforementioned Pig Monkey Pokemon only had 2 major moments. Once during the episode where it got caught, two unofficial moments where Ash had two flashbacks, once during his battle with Erika, and once during the Unova series where he was talking about his Charizard, and during the his final appearance during that tournament. But let's say it was because the developers didn't know what to do with Ash's Primeape, then why didn't they have his Primeape be a background character? You know, be like his Muk, Tauros, Kingler and roughly a third of his Unova Pokemon, and keep it in Professor Oak's lab, and only use it during major battles? That would've made a hell of a lot more sense than to have Ash capture Primeape, never use it except once, and then give it to someone else and never see it again.

@@OmnicidalClown1992 firstly, no. ash's primeape had 1,5 episodes screentime compared to ash pigeot 0,5 episode screentime (it was evolved close to the end of the episode). about why it wasn't become background character? i don't know. they never thought of that? maybe they never consider of the possibility? primeape is too hot-headed to be with ash,probably. and writers at that time couldn't think of anything to use it. but i see the bright spot. at least primeape do what it wants to do,fighting!
