Ahhhh okay. Ruby’s astral is based on the moved she used to kill the Nevermore, just without the cliff. I kinda expected that but cool to finally see it. Weiss’ Astral, meanwhile, is based on her final attack used to kill the knight in the White Trailer, but with a giant ice sword added to make it cooler, pun not intended, and to make it feel much more damaging. All in all I’m very happy with these astrals so far and I can’t wait to see what they do for Blake and Yang’s astrals when the game finally comes out.

Songhacker The Silver Eyes thing only send to be a counter to Grimm or Maiden abilities, and wouldn't be as visually iconic as the Nevermore execution scene (though the actual Astral does seem to be a bit more static than it did in the show), since it generally just involves her screaming while she stands in place. For Weiss, I think the sword is from the Glyph Knight, and honestly, her usage of the summoned Knight in the show has been kinda bland, but that probably had more to do with show's less fantastic and elaborate choreography after Monty Oum passed away.

UNIB's characters "Astrals" have HD pixel CGs that are animated so that puts them over the static ones the Persona characters have imo. It's too bad the moves themselves are less flashy, Under Night doesn't even have instant kills. The moves being used are just supers that do big damage in the original game.

Chronophantasma may have had this issue, but it was significantly less noticeable. BBCS Hazama would interrupt himself during basically any time Houtenjin came out. I just love how each side of the crossover retains its respective visual feature on astral heats. BlazBlue has different artstyles and usage of 3D graphics, Persona 4 Arena has character portraits and 3D animations of Personas(usually the climax of their Astral Heat here), Under Night In-Birth has drawn-in character animations when an Astral Heat is initiated, And RWBY....well, they are new to the fighting genre, so they are more similar to BlazBlue's, but with a fractured moon in the background(obvious reference to the series)

Really wanted to see how they did UNIEL's Astrals and I see they actually wanted them to actually attack themselves without using the Infinite Worth EXS's activation quake from their home series, which is interesting. Only complaint I got is that Gordeau's Soul Punish lost it's awesome 'screen-quaking' visual and sound effect while he's calling his scythe to hand, so it makes it lose some of it's dramatic effect this way with it just.... being there in a static frame, but everything else looks quite alright. They did a nice job on Ruby and Weiss's, though I gotta say Weiss's has more 'happening' in hers so I think she got the better of the two. It's nice to see the P4A's Instant Kills again; I really need to play that more often... and nothing to say about BB's Astrals; other than them finally making Noel's an attack like it should've been in the first place instead of a counter, yet cutting some of that anime animation out, nothing's changed since Central Fiction...... ....except Hazama. I think this confirms Terumi's not going to be appearing through him in this game...

I'm guessing Blake's Astral Finish would either be that super fast multi slash finisher from the Vol2 during the fight with Roman inside the mech or multiple shadow clones attacking all at once. Then Yang's Astral Finish will obviously be her finishing move against Junior from the Yellow trailer where the screen just goes all white as bright as the sun.

Julian Soria This is based off a scene in the show where she ran up a mountain dragging a giant killer bird by the neck before cutting it's head off. It's in Season 1, episode 8 if you're interested. Probably among the best fights in the series.

I really wonder what they're gonna do with the rest of the p4a characters' astrals. Some of them have really weird instakills - like Naoto, who had one that was pretty much useless (at least hama and mudo made up for it) because it was a bunch of targets randomly flying around that could be dodged by anyone with half a brain. Are they all gonna be just a normal attacks this time around or are we gonna have to suffer through p4a's obsession with unique mechanics again?

I'm not trying to be picky but some of these astral finishes that end with a white/red and black screen at the end are really dissapointing. The animations following up to that are fine but they should make those "FINISH" animations more "ASTRAL". Other than that looks good but I know it's going to annoy me a little. The character at 5:35 with the long sword had the best animations.

Ruby's astral kinda falls flat for me because there is no sense of movement being conveyed. They're just floating motionlessly in the air.

Ruby's astral is a nice reference, but it just isn't the same without the brutal decapitation. Put her in MK11, Ed Boon.

Ok, at least it makes more sense why it takes like all 9 meters. It kills the second person at any health. That's fair, I thought it had to be at 25 percent like in normal blazblue.

Yeah, but in simplistic terms, kinda like P4A/U unless you have 100 meter or more then perform the finisher at any time, regardless of opponents health.
