In the Japanese version they call each other by their last names. In English that really made no sense because it's a cultural thing, but this game also has them interacting with a whole bunch of other people so they director decided it would be easier to keep everyone using the Japanese style addresses, otherwise it'd be too much of a contrast.

It's a cultural thing like previously stated. You don't tend to call people by their first name over their unless they ask you to. For some reason, just like with the honorifics that the Japanese use, Persona translations tend to like to keep them in and it just feels odd in English.

Persona characters really feel out of place, and I love it, also Ragna is probably the best character in those interactions, those iterations being "What the hell did I get myself into", and he being the straight man with a bunch of edge lords

Yes, this game is full of reused content, why make new sprites and backgrounds if they already exist is the logic this game is being made with. I'm fairly certain the rwby content is the only completely newly made stuff I mean why else would they use p4 characters instead of the p5 characters if it were not to reuse assets from arena
