Currently stopping cocaine after a good few years abuse and this is one the the things keeping me going, we’re all at sea x

So I kept on abusing it after this, I mean I tired, but it didn’t work. I said no 6 months ago, and I’ve done a bump a few times, but all in all, I’ve told it to fuck off, we really are all at sea aren’t we x

To anyone who would like to know my interpretation.... this song was written about standing on your own feet. Fleeing the nest. Living free and independently, albeit if that means things are bad. Doing one's best to strip parents of responsibility, growing, developing, self-actualizing, dancing, drinking, singing, living. Living free. All at sea. Don't worry dad, I've got it.

if anyone's interested: "I know I don't know you Don't think I don't know you I saw you going under Ah save you one for me 'Cause I'm all at sea lad And I don't know if you're coming or going But there's no thorn or stalk Or poison talk that belongs to me Now I only wanna... Now I only wanna... I don't want anything It means the world to me But I'm all at sea dad And I don't know if I'm coming or going Still no hope, no fear No rent arrears, leave it all to me And if you take it all away You'll have a pile of everything That you never wanted Oh it's just too bad Never wanted, so bad Where can I go Just to hear the songs I need I used to go to your room"

Love this song. This and Seven Deadly Sins are probably my favourite of the lesser known Libs songs. And for those who want to know where to find this stuff, they WERE all on a fansite called Albion Arks along with loads of mp3s of demos from their many sessions, but that site appears to have run out of funding or something :/ Shame.

i'm not 100% but i think peter and carl's fantasy acardia is a name for the place they went when they took drugs and was a way of romantacising it and making it a poetic and relevant place for them, then again i might be completely wrong, just from the many interviews, books and songs i've read and heard it seems thats what it is

Albion is oldest known name for Britain but i believe it is Greek not Old English and Arcadia is region of Greece that is an isolated, rustic and tranquillity.

i hold my hands up that looking back i did get it wrong but peter did say that experimenting with drugs was part of the albion experience or something like that, dont really want it to come across how it has cause im a fucking huge fan of his and all the work that he's done and in no way mean to diminish any of his work!

Daniel Fitzgerald Road to Ruin is brilliant IMO. Would have taken out Don’t Be Shy and Arbeit Macht Frei. Both would be decent B-Sides but not album material.

@@tinsoldier1983 I love road to ruin also. Love the chaos of it. I would have took off narcissist for this. Although we don't have to now as this is on the puta madres album.
