"Found no need to stand up, there was no one to show off to." The greatest line I have ever heard in a KZbin motorcycle video. A salute to you sir.

Thanks Ron. There are places for standing on the pegs, but unless you are on something truly gnarly it's just posturing. Stay well. Ride safely. Nick

Nick !, I didn't know you had a "Sloper". All I had seen was you MG . I would love to have a Panther ! I have never seen one here in Tennessee. I seen a Chopper made from a Panther in England. It was yellow and I think it's the coolest Chopper I had ever seen. I am 61 and have had a lot of Choppers over the years. That yellow Panther in England was something else. Nick thanks for the video.
@nick949eldo8 ай бұрын
Sadly, I sold the Panther a few months ago but it lives on in various of my videos. That yellow Panther chopper lives on. Still looks and runs well and is well loved by the Panther Owners Group. I don't think many made their way to the US, although they are fairly common in the old British colonies.

Greetings Nick. Steve here again in Tennessee. Yet another great video! Sadly, as I get older (74 now) I find myself riding less each year. Life seems to have gotten in the way of the riding I have so long enjoyed. The family seems to think I have all the answers to the trials (car issues, house issues, fix this/weld that). Not complaining, actually glad to be needed... and appreciated. But, as we age the realization of our mortality starts to set in and I now know more than ever before that this is not a dress rehearsal, but the real play. So, I sometimes live vicariously through your travels, as well as a few other's. So here's a big "thanks" for sharing. It's not the same as riding, but it does bring a smile and a lot of memories. Wishing you safe travels. Keep on riding.

Thanks for the supporting comments Steve. Fortunately, my family are all too aware of my mechanical limitations so I don't get asked to do much 😆. Riding is my drug of choice. When I'm not actually riding, I'm thinking about it, planning for it, writing about it or messing with my bikes so I can. I'm cooling my jets awaiting a change in the weather, then I'll be off for a short jaunt on the Panther (assuming nothing breaks in the meantime). Thanks for watching and thanks for taking the time to write. Stay well. Nick.

When I'm out riding, I keep looking to see if I'll run into you on the roads up here sometime, well, figuratively speaking of course. About three weeks ago I was southbound on 509 & thought the handling on the Harley was getting pretty quick & then I thought it was getting downright squirrelly, so at Snow Road Station thought I should pull over & take a look. Back tire was flat. Little Airmoto couldn't put any air in. One of the local Firefighters, who I'll call Harley Bob came over & had me pull it up to the station for the big compressor - still no luck, just a lot of hissing air. There's no cell service up there! He let me use the landline to call CAA which had to send a truck up from Kingston to get me back home again & Bob stayed with me the whole time; a big shout-out to him! Turns out I had a 1 1/4" slice straight through the tread of the tire with only 2K miles on it. Oh well, 25+ motorcycles & 6 decades of riding, thankfully, that was my first flat on the road. My son told me to take the satellite phone the next time I go riding up there! If you encounter an old guy putting along on the back roads on a Black Dyna, be sure to wave back. Love riding along with you vicariously on your vids!
@nick949eldo2 жыл бұрын
That's too bad CapnG, but it seems to have worked out well. People really do respond well when things go wrong, especially in the country. Here's a pat on the back for Bob too. CAA is worth its weight in Gold. I don't leave home without it. Keep looking. One of these days we'll cross paths - and I always wave. Stay well.

The Convert just keeps on keeping on. The tranny rebuild seems to be working just fine. The scenery is always great, rivers, lakes and woods. That starter has been that way about 5 or 6 yrs now. HAh!HAh! See you had extra garments on . The changing colors in the trees looking beautiful. Enjoyed the ride Nick. RIDE SAFE.

Ah, Guzzi starting woes, no matter the vintage! My Breva gave me a scare a few weeks ago, I thought it was the dreaded startus interruptus, but no, it was a slightly loose negative battery terminal. And when I say slightly, I mean slightly... it was well connected to the battery, but there was a minor amount of wiggle on the wire. I cranked on the bolt with my wrench and made sure to immobilize it, and only then the bike started. I learned to put a tiny drop of blue loctite on the nut under that bolt! Safe rides!
@nick949eldo2 жыл бұрын
I encountered the dreaded startus interruptus on my Breva 1100. Fixed it according to the instructions from wise ones and no more issues. It didn't like a weak battery though.

Hi Nick Good to see you out on the Convert again. Mine is apart right now. The heads needed rebuilding and while it's apart I'm honing the cylinders and installing new rings. At least the starter is easy to change on these big twins. Hope you get it sorted. Cheers TT

I'm going to have a bash at it this morning TT. Good luck with your rebuild. New rings and a head refresh should really perk it up.

Your bikes all sound great without being loud. Mebbe something to do with different exhaust regulations in the '70s and '80s. That starter balks just enough to get the adrenaline leaking a bit, eh? Haha. Lovely day. Thx for sharing!

Hi MS. Yes, I was on the verge of getting frustrated when the starter wouldn't. My own fault. I knew it was an issue. Modern bikes just don't sound good.

Always carry a cable repair kit, my clutch cable broke in the hotel carpark this year as I was just heading out for the Stevio - dread to think of it letting go in some of the situations I was in that day! Thoroughly enjoyed your video, as always.
