It's likely that it was single mutation, however, it is a bit misleading to say that all blue-eyed people have a single ancestor in common. The reason is because anyone who has a blue-eyed ancestor anywhere in their lineage also shares that common ancestor. Therefore, it is not only blue-eyed people but also many brown and green eyed people who share that ancestor. In addition, blue eye'd people are likely to share more than one common ancestor. All people on earth share more than one common ancestor. I'm just being pedantic I guess. Interesting video but the the title gives the wrong emphasis.

Koiden because there is only “one” gene responsible for blue eyes which is OCA2. And the fact that all people founded with blue eyes have OCA2 gene, is enough to say that all of these people with blue eyes (except albinos) got that gene from one person who originally have the mutation. But then again as u say, there might be another mutation for blue eyes, but as far as everyone knows the only gene founded that cause blue eyes is only OCA2 and nothing else. But u never know, there might also be multiple genes that can cause blue eyes, that we haven’t yet discovered.

The eyes turned blue while the original african forefather created the blue eyes mutation, which means there is a chance it was actually a middle eastener with blue eye mutation. That specific person later settled in europe, majorily bringing the mutation there. Still the green eye mutation originates in the middle east, so it is most likely they mutated in that area (middle east). Also, blue eyes are majorily found in northern europe, not so much in italy or spain or greece.

EuroBoy Nazis theorised Aryans are indo-europeans. Which isnt true. All northern indians are native to india. Not mixed with europeans. The reason why northern india and pakistanis have ligher skin and eye than southern india is sun. Southern india is literally in the ecuator line which is why it gets most sunlight and which is reason of dark skin and no pigment in eyes for protecting skin and eyes from sun.

I'm from Pakistan and me, my grandfather, and everybody in my grandma family including herself have Blue eyes .. And we're definitely not European.. not all blue eyed are European descent...

1 it comes from a old French word "descendre" which means to descend . So Descent mean the origin or background of a person , usually the origin of the person's nationality or ethnicity ... people from Pakistan are not from a European descent, maybe the Pakhtuns or Kalash, but other then that no European ancestry

Your great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather could have been European with blue eyes. Then he could have had a child with a Pakistan woman. An that woman had one with a Pakistan man. And that Pakistan man had one with a Pakistan woman. And so on, until the children were basically Pakistan again but still had one European gene. And yes, all blue eyes are of European decent. I could be from a long, long, long time ago but it still *should* be there

TheMutedVid yes, Greeks did conquer Pakistan (the indus valley) but it literally did not last that long, since Alexander the Great died right after conquering it, and the Indus Valley was conquered again by the Indians (Maryana)... The only people the greeks did leave they're DNA in were only the Kalash and possibly the Pakhtuns (Afghan)... And Kalash is a dying ethnicity in Pakistan, which shares ancient cultures with Greece. Persia could not even conquer the Indus Valley, the only part they conquered was the land West of the Indus valley which is not much land or people. And I've actually tooken a DNA test, it showed 95% South Asian (Pakistan, India, etc), 3% East Asian (Mongolian, Chinese) and 1% Pacific Islander and >1% Central Asian (the "stans" who are racially ASIAN)

Not only Europeans have blue eyes. Educate yourself. There are many people from the Middle East with blue or green eyes. No they do not share common genetics with Europeans. Blue eyes are not exclusive to white people.
