I cant lie its gotta be chapter 5 even though for me It seemed like it is by far the shortest chapter, none of the bosses were really a BIG challenge but damn was it fun and I feel like I managed to beat the entire chapter in about 2 hours, cant wait for chapter 6 im but im still stuck on great sage :(

Red Boy's whole story is my favorite in all of this game. It fits so thematically well with the rest of it, with basically Red Boy's entire existence being nothing more than a tool for the Heavens. How he parallels Wukong in how he was forced into submission via the restricting bands, made to believe that he could find redemption, only to learn that he will always be something to be used by Heaven. How both his Mother and Father are made to grovel and serve those that can decide to just kill them whenever they want. All ending with him finally doing the one thing that would truly free him from grasp of Heaven, killing himself. Much like Wukong does in the beginning, but without the plan/ability to return with his freedom. It's a real shame because I think Wukong and Red Boy would get along really well in this iteration if they had gotten to meet when the game takes place. The fact that most people just see Red Boy as an evil, demonic brat is disappointing. Though most people miss even pretty simple stuff about the story in this game, so ah well. In the heaven the immortals are led by Jade Emperor, and in the West Lingshan the Buddhas are led by Gautama Buddha. Perhaps you could think of the Olympics and Asgard in the same world, where the gods are in contact with each other. And they appear to be friendly with each other, but in fact there is a lot of political struggle. In Black Myth Wukong, Buddha and Immortal are not always on the same side. The reason why Lao Tzu left the royal bloodline of Yaksha was they need to leave the evidence of Buddha's sins that Buddha destroyed the country of Yaksha and Raksha. This is a good political bargaining chip for Immortal when they need dealing with the Buddha in the future. So when the Red Boy learns the truth, he wonders why his respected father saw his family being used in this way and didn't resist. When the red boy was defeated and saw his parents kneel down and beg for mercy for him. What he saw was not his parents kneeling before the destined one, but Immortals and Buddhas. Therefore, he finally decided to commit suicide and refused to let himself continue to be used by Immortals and Buddhas.

So it was the Buddhas, and not the immortals as alluded to in the video, that fought and destroyed Yaksha and Raksha? Why did the relic weaken the Bull King when it boosted the powers of the bosses of all the other chapters?

​@@valour549 We can get the answer from the animation at the end. Wukong's last words to his bull brother were: If I leave anything behind, never use it. So the bull king just hid the relic in his stomach instead of absorbing it or putting it in something. Bull King killed his brother who had tried to protect him, and forced himself to hide the relic in his body. Both of these events destroyed his health, both mentally and physically. Then he was cheated and hurt by redboy until we arrived. The yaoguai chart does indicate that Yaksha and raksha were destroyed by Buddha. Immortals, especially Lao Tzu persuaded the Yaksha king to leave his bloodline behind before he died. If Immortals destroyed the Yaksha kingdom, then the Yaksha king would not agree to cooperate.

Just wanted to say that I'm pretty sure that all the obsession parts of the chapters (aka secret maps) are memories. The destined one goes back in time to witness a key moment of the events that are crucial to his present journey. So, having said that the bishui beast, for example, that we fight is not the one that is beat by the bull king but a memory of the one guarding Rakhshasi and the newborn Red Boy.

I remember there was a line somewhere that the bullking said that no matter where wukong goes a family's destruction lies in wake. This was evident in the game for every chapter as someway somehow wukong was the reason for each places destruction although jot intentionally. (Chapter one is with jingsi, chapter 2 with yellow wind kingdom, chapter 3 yellowbrows misconception on enlightenment, chapter 4 with the relation of baije and the violet spider cause had to abandon her to continue the journey and finally chapter 5 with the bull kings family)

I would like to point out that the Buddhas (LingShan) and the Immortals (Heaven) are two different “organizations”. Redboy is the living proof of Buddha's sinful past over the Yaksha and Rakshasa (From Redboys dream, and how Rakshasa was shaking when she went to ask for help from the Buddas). However during the journey Wukong had Guanyin got hold of Redboy. We don't know exactly how Redboy learned of his origins, but Laozi (Heaven) certainly didn't want the last Yaksha prince to fall into Buda's hands. We can guess that someone from the Heaven told Redboy and did something about it, so Redboy returned to his parents, who were under Heaven’s watch. Also, boss in each chapter represents a conspiracy on either sides, or a “tool” used by either side, to have a smooth Wukong reincarnate, under their control. Behind the Black Bear is the Guanyin Bodhisattva (Buddha), behind the Mouse (forgot his name) is the Linji Bodhisattva (also Buddha), behind the Yellow Eyebrows is the Conspiracy of the Celestial Court (Heaven), behind the Hundred Eyes is the Queen Mother of Heaven (Heaven). and lastly the Bull King family is just in middle of everything but set up by Laozi(Heavens trying to hold a trump card against the Buddas)

So, the War Cars are called "Five Elements Cars" in game, in reference to the 5 elements in Chinese cosmology: Fire, Metal, Wood, Earth and Water. But they only fight with fire, or are named after metals. That's... kind of dumb, imo. Like when you visit the Zodiac Village and see that there are only 4 of the 12 Animals present at any time.

When you go into those "hidden maps" in each chapter, the loading screen says these maps are actually "obsessions". Forgot how it's written excatly but literally means these hidden maps are actually illustration from the past built by those strong obsessions. My understanding is that you just watched a 5D movie instead of actually going back in time and change the past.
