"All by myself", performed by INGER LISE HOPE - winner of The Voice of Norway 2024!

This song is used so often in singing competitions, simply because of the iconic rising melody and, especially, the key change towards the end. We've all seen many singers slightly miss the mark, but also many that absolutely nailed it.
Inger Lise Hope is definitely one of those who nailed it. What a voice, what technique, what stage craft! Everything about her and this performance is just stunning, supporting her going on to win The Voice of Norway in 2024.

Johan, you know what? I am listening to Rachmaninoff 2nd piano concerto. Because you always teach me wonderful things, not just about the music of the artist you are featuring but well beyond that. You send me on a deep dive. I loved listening to this talented young lady, but recently someone mentioned Eric Carmen on a social media page about 70s rock music. I learned then that he was the composer of the iconic song "All By Myself". So, checking him out further, I learned that his inspiration was Rachmaninoff 2 Piano Concerto. Eric Carmen was classically trained. All of that aside, I do love what David Foster did to the song after listening to Carmen sing it himself. Thank you, as always, Sharon😎

Nice reaction👍 Inger Lise Hope (Hoopeh) is not the same person as Inger Lise Rypdal. Inger Lise Rypdal is also a Norwegian artist, but she is 74 years old😊 You should check out Hope’s audition “Adagio” and also her cover of “Never enough”😍😍

Eric Carmen's original version of All by Myself hit number 2 on the Billboard hot 100 and sold 1 million copies and was certified gold. Celine Dion's version peaked at number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified gold (500,000 copies). I would consider the original a massive success.

It was long, lol. I would have liked you to analyze her first song: "Adagio" by Lara Fabian (Albinoni). I hope you will do it and not next year. For me her coming into the public world is not the result of chance. She did not arrive in 2024 by chance especially in these times. have you ever heard the name eivor? no? pls make sure to change that and listen to her performance of falling free live at the old theater in tórshavn. she is a classically trained sopran and owns a masters degree in traditional nordic vocal techniques. her vocal skills are absolut insane!

Now this is what I'm talking about! I hear Eric from the start....and that's not a bad thing! Sadly, because this is a singing competition, we switched to Celine, and though I thought it was great, being a fan of Eric, and the Raspberries, I was hoping to hear more of what she did at the start!
