All Connected: Èjì Ogbè in Ifá, Caucasians, and Ògún

This is a story that was narrated by a person centuries ago in a bid to explain the relationship between black and white people, and then it was included in the respective Ifá corpus- the Èjì Ogbè. I cannot prove that it is 100% accurate. It does not explain or rationalize any form of injustice from Caucasians. Instead, for one, it explains how they got their technological advancement in the first place- the huge ships and general know-how that was used for the attacks on and enslavements of (the people that we now call) the Yorùbá people. They did not return to Ògún to touch base and acquire knowledge/guidance on the proper management of technology and how not to hurt others/destroy the planet with it. Rather, they used the Ògún-given tools for their own advancement and then for explorations across the planet, creating a huge mess and hurting several groups of people as a result.

Are you familiar with the Nation Of Islam myth of Yacub and the creation of the white man? This story sounds similar.

I don't think it's right to assume without evidence that this narration was a story that was told by someone, and then got included in Ifa. Isn't it in the bible that Noah was born with albinism. The question we should be asking if there is a connection between that and what Ifa says. Ifa is a repository of knowledge. Even in Odu Ogunda that narrate creation of the universe helps one to accept that the Big Bang Theory is valid because it is said that a being was sent down to sooth and pacify the hotness of the universe. An interpretation of that Odu can be found online as presented by a foremost Ifa priest.

I've been saying this for many years. The white is sick with his love of money. This sickness has contaminated most of the world that we know. Drunk with power and no moral compass is dangerous. White says I am the best and be like me or die. Please allow me on behalf of the white man to say thank you to Africa to the Yoruba thank you. Diversity is nature's law it cannot be broken. As I watched the video further, I noticed you related this to technology. There may be a connection between Odu Ifa (also called Afa in some parts of West Africa), and modern-day digital electronics. Though I haven’t yet been initiated into any of these, I’ve studied them for several years. The Divining Chain (Opele), used in the divination has 256 possible outcomes, based on whether the nuts used in the chain fall heads up or down. Most of the world uses a number system based on ten. After the “ones” column, each column from right to left is a multiple of ten. For example (10 =1x10), (93= 3x1 plus 9x10), (124=4x1 plus 2x10 plus 1x100). In binary, and its related hexadecimal math, each column from right to left after the “ones” column is a multiple of 2. In hexadecimal and binary; (0001=1x1, plus 0x2, plus 0x4, plus 0x8, totaling 1). (0111= 1x1 plus 1x2 plus 1x4 plus 0x8, which total to 7). The first link below shows how this is used in the chain to give the first 16 primary Odus. There are two sides of four nuts each, and each side, left or right, from top to bottom corresponds to one of the 0000 positions of the binary (hexadecimal) system. When the Opele is thrown, each of the 8 half-nuts can land with either its open or closed side facing up.One side of the half nut corresponds to the number 0, (or I in the diagram). The colored half nuts correspond to the number 1, (or II in the diagram). All 16 possibilities are shown. If the pairs were different results, for example, one of the top being blank or 0, and the other being colored or 1, there would be 256 combinations of the 8 half-nuts, 16 possible combinations on the left side, and another 16 possibilities on the right side, equaling 16x16=256. Jim you are absolutely right. There is a link between Ifa divination and computer science. I wish I could link everything and you may have already seen these but there is a study called "A Comparative Study of Ifa Divination and Computer Science" and also a talk by a (white) scientists "Ron Eglash: The fractals at the heart of African designs " on KZbin that speaks on his time amongst African people and he admits their knowledge is the basis for modern computer science as well.

Alan Turin's computer (the source of modern day computer) is inspired and derived from Odu Ifa divination system which he called Oracle like Ifa oracle binary method with 256 possibilities and with infinite outcomes. We all say Oracle, right? It is from Ifa divination with the Opele. Information from Wikipedia is very whitewashed to erase this African/Yoruba spiritual metaphysical religion origin and practice. However, Alan Turin mentioned the source of his inspiration himself. There are scholars who have linked the two and have come to the conclusion of Ifa divination/oracle as the source of today's computing system.

Here is a small insight I would like to share with you and your viewers, about what is mentioned at 1:06 - If you or whoever here study Astrology, you know that countries are ruled by astrological signs as well as people. Most countries in the European continent are ruled by Fire Signs. In specific, Germany and England, the ones most responsible for the Industrious revolutions and warfare, are ruled by Aries - the God of War and Technology. So there you have it. Ifá's Èjì Ogbè in perfect agreement with the traditional knowledge of Western Astrology.

The Spaniards and Italians are rule by Sagitarius, but when Rome was the epicenter of the known (european) world, it was a capital ruled by Aries (Mars). The Greco-Roman God Aries/Mars is most closely associated with Ògún's architype. The French are ruled by Leo. All of them Fire Signs. The only exception is Portugual, being ruled by Pisces - which explains the country's close tie to seafaring.
