Huh, ok I can actually get behind this. Just makes him a more interesting character then back when he would just say Amigo every other line

Make sense really, Cortez is a name of spanish origin, so why not make him say some more stuff in spanish?
@coltonk.3086Ай бұрын
It's really cool that they made him a Spanish pirate. That's awesome.
@WhispernyanАй бұрын
He's always been a Spanish pirate Cortez is a spanish name and it's the same as his Japanese name they just didn't really do it justice originally
@coltonk.3086Ай бұрын
@@Whispernyan Yeah, I had a difficult time portraying what I meant... He's obviously Spanish, but while in the original he calls you "amigo" a few times, here he actually uses more Spanish like saying "¿En Serio?" And "¿Qué Pasa?". It's a really awesome character detail that I really appreciate!

I mean… his name is Cortez. He SHOULD be speaking a fair bit of spanish

I love how they gave more Spanish Heritage to him in the remake! A win for us Hispanic Mario Fans! 🗣️💖

The only dialogue change that improved the character in question

What about Vivian? (Or is her being trans count more as a correction from bad localisation)
@zachattack12794 күн бұрын
@@RosieDidNotSuccumbas much as I hate to say it I don’t think Vivian is trans in the remake still as as there’s only one like that vaguely implies it and the other lines that light implie her being trans sound more like that she’s ostracized and disowned rather than trans

Why is the ship feminine?
@itsmeikeАй бұрын
Vessels have traditionally been considered feminine for much of history (or at least European history), although I have no idea how far back it actually dates.
@JacksonVoetАй бұрын
@@itsmeike That’s due to the captain’s tradition of essentially being married to the ship, which started the whole “going down with it” line. I mean, if I had a ship like that, the maintenance work and care for it would essentially be a marriage level commitment, so the tradition makes sense.
