And it was because of the failed operation to retake the Founding that led to Marley's neighbouring countries to go to war against them. Which during the time Marley was at war, Paradis used that time to strengthen their military and gain some Marleyan defectors.

Bertholdt is very precise and careful when using his abilities, this is known especially because he’s the best marksman out of the warriors. He’s also the least likely to use the power against them, because obviously Marley can’t lose the god of destruction. And also, he’s the one least likely to have a mental strain because of his abilities, especially one as dangerous as the Colossal. Well yes he suffers too, but when he was a trainee inside the Walls, his classmates said that he handles it better and possibly doesn’t even show remorse. Oh and yeah, he’s kinda tall too.

No, as far as we know, they chose childs because of the curse of Ymir, which basically says that you cannot hold your powers for longer than 13 years. So if they take 12-14 years old children, when they get to master their powers they'll be in their prime at around 20-22 years old. Giving the power to someone 25 years old would be kind of bad because at the end of his titan career, they would be 38, not so good for a soldier that has to be in action on the field.

@@likklebattyman5677 I don't know, colt seems a little older to get his titan since most of this generation titans were about 12/13 when they got theirs and Colt is closer to 16/17.. but maybe being younger has something to do with it because that is true, kids are easier to manipulate as they are younger .. as for Ksavier, he is the only KNOWN exception so we cannot say for sure if he is the ONLY exception (unless the author says so himself of course)

No where was it ever mentioned that the female titan has to fall to the hands of a woman . Titan powers have absolutely 0 bearing on the shifters gender , we saw this with Ymir , Piek and Mrs Tybur, all of whom were females who were given " male " bodied titan forms with no problems, also the armored titan, the most Masculine looking of all the titans was initially planned to be given to Gabbi . With all of that in mind, we have no reason to assume that only females could utilize the Female titan , if a Male were to be given the female titan the most likely outcome is that it will be a reverse Piek situation where the titan would be a female but the user would be a male . The reason I feel Annie was chosen was because the female titan ( even the Jaw titan could be used for disruption instead of just all out attacking ) is a titan purely for combat purposes with little supportive utility which means that the person using it have to be the most skilled conlmbatant of the group, that ended up being Annie who was trained in martial arts by her dad since she was a toddler , the only other mostly offensive Titan is the Jaw but between the two the Female has the more destructive capabilities and since Annie was a better fighter than Marcel , the female titan naturally went to her

in the Attack on Titan book I'm writing now, the colossal titan needs a user with a strong mind. This titan needs someone who can control his mind very well so that his emotions don't overwhelm him and he loses control, because the titan's body synchronizes with his mind and if his mind is stressed or he lets his emotions to control him, the titan it may not form completely or remain paralyzed in place no matter how the possessor tries to move. That's why they decided to give it to someone like Bertholdt because he is the most mature of them all and very rarely lets his emotions cloud his judgment. even when he did it and was extremely nervous in Shingashina he still had a clear goal and knew what he wanted to fight for and that's why he was able to transform. This is also the case that Armin seemed so desensitized when he used the power of the Colossal titan because he knew that he had to be calm and calculated if he wanted to be able to use such a Colossal power.

Then in my own understanding of the abilities(anime watcher) Warhammer: ability to control its hardening at will, enabling the user to literally create their titan outside of their body, and controlling it as a puppet. Can also generate any kind of weapon, just like controlling a hardening. Founding Titan: Could control any titan and the subjects of Ymir. Could also erase memories of said subjects. Could make said subjects into pure titans at will, making the walls of Paradis into a wall of titans. Lastly, Attack Titan: Even with its name being called "attack" Its only ability is to see the future's inhabitants of the attack titan's memories. Correct me if I'm wrong tho. Again, Anime Watcher only. Manga spoilers are not allowed, please.

Founding titan has flaws though 1,) you need to be royal blood to activate it 2.) it is hindered by the Vow to Renounce war making it follow the original person that placed the vow (only affected those of royal descent, zeke would have fallen to this too) 3.) if you aren't a royal descendent you can use the powers, only if you meet someone willing to activate it with you

Attack Titan can only see memories of past and future holders of that titan form, no one elses unless he eats them which then would be able to send memories back to those shifters

Attack titan has more power than only the future sightseeing. Attack titan is more or less like Female Titan. It's versatile and a jack-of-all trades. Eren's attack titan is stronger than female titan in raw strength, more endurance than most of the titans except for cart and maybe armor, more agile than female and beast titan. If it has hardening, the hardening is stronger than the armor titan. The "Attack" tile of the attack titan means that the Attack titan will go forward and fight for their needs even after they're dead

The colosaal totan with its size and mini nuclear bomb like explosion and steam emission is easily the most powerful of all the titan shifter, however it is also teh most diffciult to utilize : extremely slow making long distance movement impossible that coupled with the fact that the user can only transform once a day , makes this a titan that you actively have to commit to ,you need to be 100% certain that transforming in a specific spot is the most advantageous decision , theres also the problem that this is the titan with the least longevity which makes its commitment problems even more apparent . All of this makes me feel like the colossal should end up with the most intelligent person of the group capable lf adapting to most given situations and that description applies to Piek way better than bertholdt , eveb if she wasnt a great fighter ( in fact she seems to be physically the weakest of the warriors ) the colossal titan doesnt really necessitate much if any combat lnowledge from its host, its slow movement wouldnt allow for much combat anyways and its great size compensates for low combat proficiency. While i do understand the logic of given it to Bertholdt who is cowardly which makes him very wary of his Explosion transformation and more likely to properly ustilize it , Bertholdts weak will will also make him the least likely candidate to defect from Marley and taking away the colossal titan who is their most valuable asset ( especially with the creeling obsolescence of the titan powers making the colossal titan and even more valuable asset as it essentially works like a small scale nuclear explosion ), however with all that i feel like Bertholdts reserved and quite personality lends itself way better for a supportive background role , his cowardly and alert nature also synergizes well with teh cart titans " Panzer " armor as he can stay far away and allow the snipers on his back to get to work.

This part always raises a question in my mind: How come both Marleyen's and Eldian's named all the intelligent Titan similarly. Like Eldian never knew about Colossal, Armoured and Female Titan during the beginning of the show. Yet they named them exactly what Marleyen's called them. Realistically Colossal and Armoured were named focusing on their respective unique feature. But in the case of the Female Titan there where other unique features apart from the fact that well it's female

they probably choose him because he was chill af, so not raging around like Eren and Falco when they first transformed. Imagine a senseless raging colossal titan. Also he was pretty easy to manipulate / control so it´s more unlikely he would turn on marley
