You're doing a massive public service to the world exposing folks to All/Descendents that may not have been before! Thanks! Every iteration of All holds a special place in my heart. I remember first hearing Just Perfect from Allroy Sez... and I said to myself and to other people... this sound is going to be huge, and I mistakenly thought that All would be the ones to take the sound to the masses. Turns out Green Day were the ones to grab the ball and run with it. Great video. Cheers.

Smalley was in DYS early in the 80s. Legendary Boston straightedge hardcore! Then DAG NASTY and recorded the best album in the world, "Can I Say." Then he joined all.

@@ChrisPropfeMusicallyObsessed Make sure to familiarize yourself with DAG NASTY "Can I Say" both musically & lyrically! Lyrically, it's the absolute epitome of straightedge hardcorepunk! Even though I'm not straightedge, every single lyric on that record speaks to me. Even now, at age 49!

DYS was militant straightedge, DAG NASTY a little less so. Neither Brian Baker nor Dave Smalley is straightedge anymore, though Smalley still sports his tattoo and never covered it. A lot of people are bummed when their heroes lose their edge, but it's never made a difference to me. All in all, I think straightedge is a positive thing and plays a prominent role in punk rock and hardcore history.

Great vid! I'm a huge Descendents/All fan. Bill Stevenson is one of the best rock drummers of all time. I was hoping Pummel would give them the fame they deserved.

very nice. I have all the lps of descendents in sst and of All in cruz records. Chris you're doing very good presenting All cause some believe that green day first played pop punk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the truth is Descendents are the kings of the so called pop punk although Descendents are true punk comparing to the silly punk of todays

The All Great Hitz album is one of my favorites, because they went back and remixed/remastered all the early stuff and they sound SO much better. Especially Just Perfect.

Dave Smalley went to form DBL but Dag Nasty was a one off thing that happened when Brian Baker was in LA ( before Bad Religion ) but Dave Smalley had already been in Dag Nasty. Also, when Pummel came out Green Day and the Offspring were mainstream, Blink was still unknown. Pummel did, indeed, did a lot for them, when the advance money from Interscope they built their own studio in Ft Collins.

You're a little wrong. Smalley was in DAG NASTY in the early 80s. "Minority of One" that you're thinking of was record decades later.

Yes. The Descendents and ALL are basically the same band just with different lead singers. The crazy thing is that the Descendents have an album called ALL. Lol.
