You are so very welome. Its a nice way for people to connect for the information and for me to get out of myself to try and help (:

I can’t stay sober long enough to start reading… it’s the anxiety when sitting down to read… the possibilities of failure. So thank you for reading it and explaining portions. ❤

You are wonderful. Don’t let your brain talk you out of this. This is an awful disease and I’m proud of you for trying to change your life. The great thing is most people who approach this with a desperate desire to change eventually get it. You don’t do it alone. You are loved. Now get to work champion !

It isn't AA that changes our life... AA is just the vehicle; AA is the program the solution is God may you find him now... God is what changes us... God restores us...

The first thing I tell newcomers is that the actual meat and the actual program is only the first 7 chapters. Not even half an inch thick. Not even 100 pages….. And of course chapter 11. But everything else is just personal stories. When I realized that it was a HUGE RELIEF!!! Reading 7 chapters is doable. But looking at that big ass book, I didn’t even want to start it. Good job for doing this for people. So awesome. Thank you for your altruism :)

Thank you for your kind comment. Appreciate it. Hope I didn’t come across on any spiritual hill top. No alcoholic likes being talked down too (:

@@GrowthGuided not at all. You’re relatable and you explain things. It’s basically just like when we sit down with a sponsor and they read the book to us. I love it. I actually saved it in my sponsee playlist, to send out to people I’m working with who are new to the program. It’s way more updated sounding than the audio book. That guys voice is the cringe. I’m like UGHHHHHH!!! Thank you for providing an alternative to the cringe.🙏🏼✨😇🙌🏼

@@cameronw.2775 Hi Cameron, Thank you for asking. My program is going great! I made it past the 18month mark. I started sponsoring and it really set the second part of my recovery into play. I got my first sponsee through the steps and am continuing to work with him and a new sponsee. Thank you for posting your videos, they are very useful. I hope your recovery is going well. Happy sobriety!!

@@Robbskunky wow! That’s amazing man and so inspiring to hear. I recently had a stumble this summer after 15 months but I think I figured what happened. I was going through the motions but it was more of a “script” rather than doing real work. I’m almost back at a month and have been doing tons of meetings and reading and getting numbers and I love the program this time around which I never really felt before. Here’s to another 24 everyone!

Are the 12 steps and traditions different? Sorry I’m still learning
@GrowthGuided3 жыл бұрын
No need to apologize my friend! Yes they are in a separate book called the 12 and 12 which goes into greater detail of the traditions which focuses on keeping the group in healthy shape. The Big Book came first and then the 12 by 12, but it is still AA approved literature. (: I hope that makes more sense.

“Willing to go to any lengths” comes to mind for me. Talk to your sponsor about your challenges with complete openness. Fear that you might become the most calm and peaceful Version of You instead (:

Can u please point out all 12 steps in bills story I'm working on it with my sponsor as an assignment and I'm SO LOST 😂
@GrowthGuided2 жыл бұрын
Don't worry. It is totally normal. There aren't exactly precise places in Bills Story where it mentions the steps like it does in the 164 pages say like pages 72 - fifth step or page 76 - Step Seven and Eight and Nine. Bill's story explains a short figurative means instead of directly stating "now we are at step 1,2,3" etc. I hope that makes a little more sense.
